    So good I bought 2

After analyzing all the different TVs and making a list of what I had to have vs what I didn't need, I immediately disqualified all sumdung TVs because I hate everything about their company, visio because they don't include a tuner, and absolutely any TV brand that monitors you (SPIES) as part of being 'smart' -2nd strike for both viso and sumdung!- and found very good reviews of this TV. The price had just dropped in early Nov to $449 which made it $100 off then. So I bought one and was blown away by the vivid color and brightness. Already a ROKU user, that was easy to setup and watching 4K content like The Crown was freaking bloody awesome. I put it at the foot of the bed (I chose the Whalen 3-in-1 stand, and reviewed it favorably) and began to worship The Giant TV God. I haven't had any issues with color or motion blurring even though it is a 60 hz not 120 hz. I love this thing. And it has AC wifi so I upgraded my Apple Airport Extreme to the AC model to get faster speeds. N speed was adequate but 4k content overloaded the network so make sure your wifi is AC speed. It's also surprisingly light for it's size. One man can easily lift it and hang it on a stand. The speakers are, off course, only adequate being wedged into a flat screen case. You will want some sort of sound boost for really good sound.I haven't found a good one yet. DON'T buy LG soundbars (I left a review of the awful experience with their junk). I bought a second 55" Insignia 4K for the living room and used rewards points and credit card gift certificates to best buy to lower the 2nd one's cost to below $300. The absolutely only drawback it has is if you want to use it for 4K on an xbox-one-s you can't because it doesn't have the HDR function. So you will only get HD not 4K. I think you may also need 60hz instead of 30 hz on the HDMI as well. If/when they release an updated version with HDR then I would gladly buy one for the xbox-one-s 4K output. All in all, (2) 4K ROKU TVs for less than $800 with more rewards earned off the second and Elite status gained from the year's purchase. Super Spiffy!

I bought this TV the day before Super Bowl for $429 a score. Hooked it up and the first thing I noticed was the sound was terrible. So back to best buy for a $100 Insignia sound bar. This solved the sound problem. I tried several pre set picture settings and was not happy with them. After a while of setting the picture myself I was satisfied. For an entry level 4K T.V. the picture is great. For those of you that are not happy with the picture quality, just fiddle around with the manual picture controls. And get a sound bar, very few of these T.V's have very good built in speakers. The sound was the only reason I did not give this set 5 stars.

I'm Very happy with this television! The price was what grabbed my attention as i had no clue what "roku" was. The picture quality is amazing, the chioces with all the roku is wonderful. I no longer need cable tv just internet i can't say enough about how great of a buy this tv is!! Only con i would say is volume, it never seems to be loud enough unless you have it cranked way up. Solved that problem with the matching sound bar. Now it's truly amazing set. Great buy i highly recommend it.

I bought this television to replace the one in our family room. It is primarily used by our children to watch videos, movies and to play games. It couldn't have been easier to setup and the picture is amazing. My favorite feature is Roku. I downloaded the app onto my phone that allows me to control the TV from any room. No more having to yell to be heard asking for the volume to be turned down.

I've always had good luck with Insignia TV's and have 2 smaller models in my home. Decided to upgrade to a 55 inch, and bought the 4K set with the Roku interface at a great price for a 55 inch 4K TV. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality and the crisp picture on this TV. Easy to set up right out of the box. You can't go wrong with this TV and you'll save yourselves hundreds of dollars !

just hooked up the 4k , great picture, bright colors, easy to access internet, was worried about the channel changer-no numbers- but the up/down control is very fast, other tv's twice the price, save your money, get this one, using a sound bar, not sure of audio quality

I researched many different 55" 4K Smart TV's and kept coming back to this one. I was hesitant because it's an Insignia and doesn't have a web browser, but I knew I wouldn't use it to surf the web, I'll use my phone, tablet or laptop for that. I wanted a Smart TV to hook up to Netflix ect. I was also concerned about the refresh rate, however for the cost, I figured it was worth a shot. As other reviewers said, the picture and sound is really great. Very easy to set up too. Great buy.

According to my best buy I was the first customer in that store to buy this TV. They didn't even have it on display when I went in the store so I bought it sight unseen. Yes price was the driving factor and it's better than expected. Roku interface is great with a simple remote and tons of streaming options. Counting the TV this is my 3rd roku box in my house. Picture quality from Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Amazon is good. Hooking into my network was easy and I have had no issue with dropped signal or loss of quality using a 5gz network via a netgear nighthawk router. I have DISH and this is the one downside. DISH is the issue, not the panel, with it's overly compressed HD. I do have the Hopper 3 that can output in 4k. VOD stuff from DISH looks pretty good. Using an antenna gives me far better picture than DISH for OTA content. Blu Rays, steaming including local files via PLEX, are all great and the TV does a nice job of scaling. When reviewing these things people should keep in mind what they are using for source material. 4K content looks amazing, but do not expect the same job from SD to HD. Keep your expectations in check for what you see. Like most flat panels the internal speakers are trash so I hooked it up to a cheap sound bar using the optical output and it made the sound a thousand times better. I don't have an issue with blurring during sporing events etc, but the TV could handle it a little better. It's on par with most sub 1000 TVs so not a deal breaker.
