This Insignia Portable CD player WILL NOT play CD's of our daughter's high school musical band concerts. It also WILL NOT play CD's of OUR family musical events. It will only play a CD that is professionally made by CD recording companies. This very same CD player that I purchased a few years ago would play all CD's regardless if made from her high school concerts and family events as well as professionally made CD's made by CD companies. Unfortunately the CD player I purchased a few years ago wore out and that is why I bought CD player Number 2 which was a waste of approximately $30.00 What a disappointment and waste of money!

I needed a portable CD player to listen to some books on CD. This player worked great, sound was good and I was happy with it for about a month. I thought it was the bateries, changed them and tried an adapter. Turns on but doesn't play. It was a waste of my money.

At first I though it was the cd from the library skipping, but then I listened to 3 other programs and everyone of them skipped after being on for about 20 minutes. I have tried to call the store but gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes today which was the last time I called. Can someone please help me.

I just got mine today September 30. Can’t play it all in short doesn’t work , I try to put different battery and doesn’t work either .not lucky I guess ,I got the bad one.so disappointed . So need to go back tomorrow and return the item . But will not try to get another one better get my money back it sucks. Guess buy electronics with brand name.

Bought this for someone in a nursing home. Traveled to get it to her. When the volume was turned all the way up, you could still barely hear the music. Chose to leave it with her and not return it due to the distance involved in getting it to her. She uses it but it's not easy to hear.

I bought this for my daughter so she could listen to the music cd for her play. It didn't even last the 3 months of her play practices. She only listened a couple of hours a night at home. Wouldn't recommend this.

I bought this item and when I brought it home it didn't work. I brought it back and got a new one and within a month it stopped working properly. It seems that after using the devise for about a month, when you hit the "back" button in it also acts as if you have simultaneously hit the "program" button, the result of which is that the same track repeats over and over again. This basically makes the "back" button dysfunctional. Also after owning it for a month sometimes it won't play a disc and a Error message displays. Then 10 minutes later it will play the same disc. Very erratic.

We bought this CD player during a road trip from NJ to Myrtle Beach because we had gotten a lot of Books on CD for the kids and didn't realize there was no CD player in the car. Imagine our disappointment as we're a few hours away from where we bought it in VA and we couldn't get the HOLD button to slide out of the hold position. Because the button was stuck in that position and would not, under any circumstance, slide out of that position - it rendered the unit completely useless for our entire road trip to and from. Best Buy was great with taking the unit back and refunding our money even though we bought it in VA and returned it in NJ...but the CD player was disappointingly useless to us even though the price was great.

It worked in my car for about one minute before the connection failed. I couldn't figure out why the sound stopped until I twisted the aux cable and it crackled and came back partially. Even during that short window of sound, it was out of balance and the vocals were super quiet. Serves me right for trying the cheapest option. At least I was smart enough to try it out in the parking lot so I could return in immediately. As usual, customer service was pleasant to deal with.

this cd player was the right price, light and comfortable to wear in a belt. changed the batteries , read the directions- could not get it to play- returned to the store and was informed it was defective- returned it

When I first got it, would skip a sentence then it would not play and kept showing a dead battery, even one fresh from the pack. I returned it for a refund!

This portable cd player's battery life is very weak. Also, it skips very frequently. I had never purchased a portable cd player that has given me as much trouble as this one. Buyer beware!

The cd player is defective. I will be returning it asap. There has been a delay in doing this as my husband has been in the hospital and now under Hospice care. The player was purchased in order for him to hear his favorite books while ill. Player keeps going back to beginning so there can't be continuity. I have had several people try to get it to work correctly to no avail. I will be returning as soon as possible and hope you honor it.

I really wanted this size simple enough. Placed cd in and would not play!Very disappointed!

I ordered two portable CD players: one from Southfield and one from Novi. I asked the Novi store to send the player to Southfield for pick up. It looks like that order was canceled instead. I received a confirmation that one of them is ready in Southfield. I still would like the second player. Please check on this.I don’t have either of them yet to write a review

Bought one, put batteries in - nothing! Nothing - nada - zip. Tried my own batteries - still nothing. On/off button - very cheap. Returned it for a second one - same thing - nothing at all. No power at all. Both were looked at when returned and Best Buy employees agreed - nothing. Returned number two for my money back!

This was a terrible purchase. The headphones would only fit a very small child. They broke when I tried to get them on. The player works part of the time & is difficult to turn off. This item had likely been returned & resold as the original package was included & torn open. It does work with other headphones & was advertised as refurbished. I read the reviews & they were good, but guess it doesn't pay to buy refurbished. I don't live near a store or would have returned & postage is to high.

Needed batteries. Changed them several times. Still would not work.

Have had several people try to start this item and even after multiple battery changes it won't start

I thought it would have been a bargain to buy this but the volume doesn’t even go that high like I like it
