This item allows you to get a different angle for the flash. The length of the cord limits this somewhat. Much simpler and less expensive than WiFi or other electronic triggers.

I go through sync cords like mad. I am a pro photographer and I use a lot of off camera strobe, so I burn through these things - even the dedicated well known brands. The more expensive well known brands will burn a hole in your wallet, if you do a lot of off camera flash photography that requires a sync cord.
So far, this cord has held up quite well. Yes, it syncs fast and does the trick. I have only put it into use a few weeks , perhaps a month ago (not that long, so that is why the 4 star rating - it hasn't been that long in use), but I have done two awards shows (they can go on for a long time and the bursts are fast and consistent) and I really can't tell the difference between this one and the $80.00 cord on my other setup. Does the trick!

Did a good job for the first 5-6 events I photographed then it stopped working. Returned it to Best Buy and got the same one. It has worked great since. Used it for graduation photos and ceremonies. Took a ton of photos.

Insignia - TTL Off-Camera Sync Cord for Nikon makes it very easy to position your flash on a tripod for greater flexibility. A must have accessory for doing product photos.

You really get what you paid for (so, in this case, you don't get much at all). The shoe lock is a crummy plastic circle and on the unit I received, the flash only fires intermittently.
Compared to Nikon or Promaster cables, the spring cable is also much stiffer, making stretching the cord (and moving around) more difficult. Even though I selected new rather than open box, the packaging was torn up when it arrived, so it's possible I got someone else's defective return. Nevertheless, I recommend going with another brand.

Item has a tightener on one end, but NOT on the other end, to hold it in place.
wants to slip out of the hot shoe. Other wise it works great.
I have to hold it in place with my thumb....

Though the coiled cable makes the length a hassle to get off camera, it does the trick well

This cable works great for my flash. The only problem is the cord is a bit stiff and is difficult to extend all the way out.

Had to purchase this because the flash mount I bought off of amazon didn't hold the flash in place. This holds the flash in place despite the additional connection, the flash speed is still the same.
