I love how many features this thing has, I can use it anywhere. I usually just have it on my desk and I use it as a speaker for my desktop PC, but I can also use it as a blue tooth speaker for my phone, computer, or other devices. Who cares about "Bluetooth audio" though right? I can plug a microphone into it, I can use a 3.5mm audio jack for auxiliary audio, AND I can even use a USB type A for audio. This thing can even connect to radio stations if I want it to. And last but not least, it has a whole solar panel on the top of it just in case it runs out of battery and you don't have access to a plug, and if it's night time or if the solar panel stops working, you can even hand crank it to recharge its battery. Did I also mention it's water proof? I think this speaker is advertised as being able to withstand splashes of water on it with no reaction. Overall, this speaker is super loud, super bassy but not overwhelmingly bassy, and portable at the same time. It can do whatever job you need it to do. The only nag I have for this speaker is that the light bar on it isn't too bright, but I think the speaker has enough features to make up for it. 5/5

It’s a great tool. It has Bluetooth, am/fm radio, solar panel crank handle to power up when out of battery and a solar panel. In two weeks of normal use I charged it once. I will occasionally crank it a few minutes. I mostly let it sit under the sun. It charges up it just takes longer but it works. Volume is good, if you go past master area of volume it gets distorted. It’s fine though. I have used it at the park, beach, car, perfect for any outdoor activity as it charges while it plays under the sun. Not heavy at all feels well made like it can take some drops and bumps. Don’t recommend dropping it. Mic auxiliary and flash drive connections available. Plus a flash light option. I call it a tool because in case of an emergency this would be a multipurpose tool to have and no need for batteries. I would recommend to all.

It’s a good speaker for a family BBQ but not when the neighbor has his speaker on too. I wish the speaker was a litter louder. I would not buy it again. I wanted a big and loud speaker. When we get in the pool we have to move it closer to the pool to hear it. My kids are loud and my neighbors music is loud so I need a loud speaker, but I think to go camping it would be great since it is quieter there. If you like to listen to music at normal sound then I do recommend this speaker it’s small and easy to move around.

What a Great item! Had a problem, at first, thinking that the charge wasn't holding very long. Then kept it plugged in for a few days... Then it seemed like the charge lasted forever!!! We were so surprised! Who knew reading directions would come in so handy. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars, is the size.

The product works great. My only complaint was sloppy workmanship places where labels were needed. Please review picture to see what I’m speaking about.

This radio sounds good and will come in handy during power outages. Being able to charge it by solar and hand cranking in addition to electrically could be helpful. Be aware that the ads do not say that it takes 40 hours to completely recharge by solar and 11 hours by hand cranking. You can, however, charge it by your car's cigarette lighter socket via a USB plug. It has am/fm, weather channel and a shortwave receiver although I couldn't pick up anything on it. It has a light that isn't very bright but could serve as a nightlight. The Bluetooth feature is also nice. I only gave it 4 stars because it takes so long to recharge by solar or hand crank.

like this little radio, it is bluetooth and will connect to wireless devices. has fm & am frequency's, a built in light which is pretty bright and it's solar powered as well as wind up. great for outdoor trips, its waterproof, dustproof and drop proof basically. this thing is built like a rhino, tough skin! very easy to use and small enough to store. its loud but not that loud to irritate your camping neighbors or wildlife.

I bought this for a Father’s Day gift and it was a hit! I thought it was bigger, but came to realize its small size is a blessing when living in an apartment. It plays your music loud, but not so loud where you may wake up the people two houses over (your immediate neighbors will definitely notice if you crank it up). There is some distortion at the highest volume especially with some songs, so be mindful of that. There are so many ways to charge this thing up and it fits anywhere. Great for small gatherings, bbqs, or when outside washing the car or doing yard work.

Good sound. Not sure about longevity. After first charge played music for 5 hours at medium volume. Cool concept. Haven’t tried the crank or solar charge yet but nice options if needed. The instructions aren’t very good. Overly simplistic and in multiple languages. I think I’ll like it for a while. Should be nice to use outside once in a while. I look forward to testing the solar charging capabilities while using it outside. Everything is working so far other than my wife’s iPhone couldn’t find the bluetooth for it...which was odd. I got it on sale so not to bad of a deal so far.

I use it for BBQ in the backyard, I've taken it camping and it works great everywhere else. I use either the Radio, BT, or the Aux connection for either my mini projector or old iPod and it does everything I need it to. Did I also mention it does sound pretty good?

Awesome speaker for outdoor use! It gives great sound quality and volume, and the battery life lasts for hours. It’s also convenient for charging devices when you’re at the lake or beach. It’s also durable because my son left his on the back of his car and drove off, other than being scratched up it didn’t bust the housing and the sound was still great.

it was a good price, I love all the possibilities of all its features, you can strap it on your shoulder and sing going down the street cause it has a mic output. it has Bluetooth way cool product and it charges on solar plus if that goes out there's a crank on the side you wind it up and that keeps a charge great for bad weather. and it has a plug for a guitar I love it.

I had read previous reviews about a "bad Battery" this is how I resolved that issue. I followed the directions, left the unit plugged into house current, and got maybe 10 seconds of radio playtime, I repeated this and got the same results, frustrating. I kept doing this for 3-4 days and then something happened inside, one time the radio played for hours!! I let it play for several hours and charged it again, and the same results it played for hours!! so I suggest don't give up on the first results as the one that you might get after 3-4 days, plug it in, drain the battery and if yours then acts like mine you will end up with a radio with good sound, works like you would want it to and does eventually last for hours in play time. The sound is passable, it functions after getting the battery "broke in" as indicated, So for a weather radio, with lights and good enough sound, and able to easily tune its a fine unit, camping, power outage, outside usage away from a power souorce this is a good unit to have.

I became a fan of ION with a couple of their products in our household. The big outdoor bluetooth speaker on wheels is a staple of our swimming pool area. It is loud and fairly easy to use. Their wireless phone charger/clock was pretty handy too. I got this unit for the extreme portability and the water resistant nature and the extra bands for when we camp out. I have tried it out by charging it and pairing with my phone to listen to streaming radio and such and it works just like you would expect. It paired quickly and is very portable and convenient. I was slightly disappointed with the volume capability since the larger speaker will blow your hair back, but I'm sure that inside a tent this would do fine. I think the USB port you can use to charge your phone while outdoors is always a great bonus to have handy. All in all I am pretty well pleased. I think it is a pretty nice package for all the options it has and seems to be durable and easy to use. I do recommend it though I would only buy it on sale or as a special purchase.

I purchased this unit for emergencies. It arrived and when I went to use it, it was dead. It would not power on at all no matter what. I charged the unit for 24 hours and still, nothing. I returned it to Best Buy and they ordered me a second unit. I received the second unit and the same thing, Dead. However, this time I was able to get it to work as long as it was plugged in. I charged it for 24 hours and the same thing, it was dead. I plugged it in and was able to get it to fire up but when I unplugged it, it would power down. I obviously returned this unit as well. On both returns, Best Buy people looked at each unit and they were unable to get the units working either. For me, these things are garbage or I was being sold refurbished units that were never really repaired. In any case, I was not will you to have a third go around. I tapped out...

Speaker is loud. Radio is decent. Bluetooth worked well. Unfortunately it arrived with a useless battery ( would not hold charge). Have only used speaker while plugged in. I’ve been waiting several weeks for a replacement battery from Ion.

Overall, I like this speaker. It does what it's supposed to do. It's pretty loud. I haven't tried to charge it much with sunlight or cranking yet. One issue that I have is the charging indicator on the display. When I plugged it in to charge, it said that it was fully charged (stopped blinking) but it would die as soon as I tried to use it. I left it plugged in for longer and it works now. So, you can just can't tell when it's done charging because that indicator doesn't really work, but the speaker itself does work for me. I think there were other reviews about it not holding a charge, but they may have just had the same issue and didn't realize that it needed to be charged more.

I liked the idea of this speaker; however when I got it, it only worked when plugged into an outlet. I charged it overnight for a couple days and nothing unless it was plugged in. I decided to contact ION and see what they could do because I wanted to use this. They told me the battery must be bad and said they will ship me a replacement battery within 5-7 days. Over a month later and I have received nothing from them and I can no longer return this item to BestBuy. The bright side, after all that and a week or so of it being plugged in, I unplugged it and it would work. Perhaps the battery decided to start holding a charge. It's a very versatile speaker/radio, but the fact ION didn't do what they said makes me hesitant to buy their products again.

Love the different functions on it! The solar, hand crank and emergency alert features were key as to why I got it. Very great sound and my bf also loves it! He uses this one instead of his other bigger speaker since this one sounds better. Great purchase from deal of the day!
