    I had high hopes for this machine, given it was over $300. The reason I gave it 2/5 stars is become it did pick up items well... if it wanted to. The problems occurred almost instantly the moment i took it out of the box and started it. Its first cleaning job, it bumped into every possible thing you could imagine: chairs, tables, walls, you name it. And when I say bump, I don't mean a graceful tap, I mean a full-on head-butt. It bumped into things so hard that it would knock items off of my side tables. This led to the second problem: it does not know where it wants to go. It spent about 20-30 minutes cleaning a 10x10 cleaning the dining room area while it spent a solid 45 seconds "cleaning" my entire living room. I suspect it may be due to the fact that it would bump into things so hard that the front of it was scuffed up so bad that the sensors were probably being affected. In addition to that, when I would send it too the home base, it would take a good 20-25 minutes to actually find the home base. Once it did manage to find the home base, it would take itself 4-5 tries to actually dock itself. Another problem that came up is that I would set it on a schedule to clean every other day while I was at work. Not a single time did it ever "complete" a cleaning job. It would get stuck on a carpet, in between furniture, or experience come malfunction to where I would find it on the hardwood floors just spinning in circles. Needless to say, I returned it. The inconvenience on vacuuming the house by hand was far less of an issue after experiencing this machine. I would save my money and invest in a different robotic cleaner.

    Steve came to my house on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday, I set him up to go clean before I left for work. I even left him a treat on the floor to eat (some parmesan cheese). When I got home on Friday, he had eaten his treat, and as far as I could tell, had cleaned the whole house and made it back to his home dock. Monday, the next time he ran, I got a notification on my phone that said that he was finished. But when I got home, he was nowhere to be found! Turns out he got lost by the back door, and spun in circles until his battery ran out. He also missed the tortilla chip snack I left directly in front of the dock. Wednesday and Thursday were much the same. By Thursday, I was already sick of his crap, so I just left him on the floor and didn't take him home to charge. By Friday, Steve went back home to Best Buy, and I came home with a new TV instead.

    Bought on positive review from Consumer Report but quickly discovered limitations. 1. It was not compatible with my Linksys router. I discovered this without iRobot help after three hours and used a different brand of router. 2. App has no features except schedule. 3. Did not even find certain rooms in my house. 4. Did not pickup small particles like sugar or items like smaller leaves. 5. Did not always make it home to charging station. 6. It wandered aimlessly and missed larger sections of the floor while repeatedly covering others. 7.Had small dustbin and no obvious warning it was full. Dust bin fell apart after third emptying. 8. Quite expensive for limited performance. Built around gimmick of Alexa link, which only turns it on. And turned me off. I am returning it for the Eufy. It's remote promises better control and it should vacuum just as well for $200 less.

    I had three different vacuums by 3 different companies. 2 of mine were cheaper because I didn’t want to spend tons of money. I decided to try a roomba because I liked my other ones so much. I was so disappointed in this vacuums performance. First thing was the noise. It was so loud compared to my other ones. Secondly, it did not pick up like the others. It only has one sweeper on it and it just kept flipping the dirt all over the room so it never did really ever get all the dirt picked up. It also has a sensor that sticks up on the top of the unit with prevents it from being low profile so it doesn’t get under my kitchen cabinets. Just not impressed for the price you pay for these units.

    I read the reviews before purchasing and I’m so confused. Maybe these people don’t have pets, but I purchased it because I thought it would help control the pet hair that I sweep up 2 to 3 times a day. But the hair just gets tangled in the brushes and I have to spend time getting it out for the brushes to even spin. It also fills up really quickly and has the weirdest vacuuming pattern causing it to miss quite a bit of area. I have to rescue it at least once a day. It’s also very loud and I can’t run it when I’m trying to get work done because I can’t hear when I’m on the phone. It was supposed to make cleaning the floors a little easier and I find that it just adds one more thing for me to take care of.

    Okay I have had this for about 3 weeks now. While it does clean what it goes over, the roomba is far over priced for what it is capable of. We do not move anything around and this thing loses its mind on several occasions. Again, I will re-iterate it does clean well, but not all areas you would expect. So if you have $300 plus dollars to waste to brag about a vacuum cleaner that does half the job and continually cleans the same area and gets lost please do so, but if you want truly clean floors wait an buy a Dyson. I really wished I would have as this does half the job.

    Not sure what all the hype is about this thing. Not very smart, not very good at picking up dirt. It is not smart enough to clean an area that ive clearly put on spot clean. For the money, i would say it is not worth it. I spent more time trying to keep it in an area to clean than i would have if i were to clean with a regular vacuum. Only upside is that it gets under areas you normally wouldn't be able to get under, but i can deal with that. Felt like it was a waste of money, will be returning. Also, the docking ability is very un-impressive. I will stick to old fashion for now.

    Cleans well but damages furniture

    I was super excited when I bought the roomba 690 today for the great price of $275. After using it for a couple clean cycles, I've decided I absolutely hate this thing. It cleans well but the whole time it's running, it bumps really hard into all my furniture. Hard enough to put dents in a brand new $600 table I just bought. That might not bother most people, but the fact that it has trouble going back to it's dock in my 1 bedroom apartment was the deal breaker. I'll be returning tomorrow and researching other brands!

    Not Smart compared to 900 series

    I expected to lose some features on this model given the 900 series I have. What I didnt expect is this thing isnt smart at all. The biggest issues is it just goes until it runs out of battery and stops? How is it not smart enough to return to base then continue? Had I known I would have spent the extra 200$ So if you have a decent sized room know that this thing will go till it dies and wont finish the job. You have to segment your home somehow.

    Not impressed at all. Waited to purchase one of these once the bugs and kinks were worked out. I absolutely love robotic inventions, so this was extra disappointing to me. Does a pretty terrible job in vacuuming. Just blows everything around. Got stuck under a radiator and damaged the shell in 17 minutes of operating. The only redeeming quality is the electric fence that comes with it. It does a good job on directing the lost and confused robot. The mop version on the other hand is a wonderful purchase.

    I used higher model of iRobot but when someone says it’s fine on black I bought it this model but after digging more comments, I found this model does the same so I return without using it. Comment based on top model from Costco. 1) Due to cliff sensor, it was getting stuck on my carpet which has geometric designs and black colors 2) it made scratches on my maple hardwood 3) due to height it can’t go under furniture

    I am surprisingly disappointed with this product. Not once has it completed a job. It never finds its way back to the home base after a completed job. Completing a full job is a rare occasion as well. This also does not work on 5ghz wifi networks. It tends to clean around the same area the whole time as well. Definitely not worth the money and I am sure there are better products out there, Be ware when purchasing this.

    I tried to like this for a month. I don't understand all the good reviews. It just randomly roams around. no reason to the order of which it travels. If you have a big open house like i do it wanders too far away and never comes back. the start from your phone feature is great as long as you don't have ANYTHING laying on the floor like shoelaces, toys, or anything that it will suck up. It was more of a hassle than a help for the price

    I thought this would make me happy but so far it isn't going well. The way this machine cleans is strange. It leaves crumbs, dust, small strands of grass (dog brings in from outside) so I have to go around the house and sweep up manually...eh...whatever. I hate taking things back, might give it away to someone who wants to take it. Not impressed at all!!!

    We had this for one week. My home is 95% hard wood floors with 3-4 rugs. The Roomba would hit the rug and get stuck. It got lost on the way to the base....we ran it four times in one week and it got stuck 2-3 times each time it ran. So, it was returned. I don’t have the desire to monitor this device it defeats the purpose of an autonomous vacuum.

    The roomba for the most part works, but this is my 2nd one, the 1st one is nearly two years old and works also, but it can find it's HOME way better than this new version. Very disappointed when I have to constantly put it back on its base or go searching for the dumb thing. Needs an update or something on this version!

    Might work better in a smaller space so it could hit each area more. My main floor is 2,000 SQ ft of open living space and with 3 dogs and 2 cats there is a lot of hair to pick up. With the "random pattern" it ends up all over the place and doesn't have enough battery to hit everything.

    I'm hoping the higher priced items do a better job than this. First, the thing is LOUD! It's always getting stuck under furniture, covers the same areas over and over again, takes way too long for it to find its base. I'd rather spend 20 minutes sweeping the floor. Sorry, but I'll definitely be returning this.

    This unit has a pretty good suction but runs terribly. I've tried it for almost a month now and it just keeps going over the same area and never goes back to its home, it doesn't even attempt to look for it. It's a notch quieter than a regular vacuum but runs for so much longer than a normal one.

    Hes cool and all, but honestly it takes me maybe 15 mins to sweep my whole 1600 sqft house. This thing took forever to even make it back to one of the bedrooms. Always got stuck on the corner of the couch and didnt do very well on high carpet or hardwood.
