Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the strong cleaning performance and ease of use of the Roomba s9+ and Braava jet m6 bundle, with many praising the combined vacuum and mopping capabilities. However, a significant number of users point to issues with the noise level, mapping inconsistencies, and occasional navigation problems. Some also mention concerns about battery life and the overall cost. Despite these drawbacks, many appreciate the convenience of the automated cleaning system.

    Cleans well when it works!

We have had the S9+ bundle with M6 Braava Mop for about 2 weeks and I have to say I am not impressed. I will admit it does a good job when it works. I get an error message everytime I try to use it and I spend more time on the phone with customer support than I would if I vacuumed myself. The M6 mop does a good job if you have 3 hours to kill. I don't feel I can leave it alone because it has gotten stuck multiple times. Another important point is that iRobot advertises that the vacuum and mop can sync to clean together, but that is not entirely true. It can not be scheduled to do that even though the app has a setting for it. Customer service told me that it will eventually be available in future software updates. However, if you set it as a new one time job it will work together. Overall it does clean very well, but for the price, I could not recommend it to anyone. Until iRobot fixes all the kinks save your money and don't make this purchase!

Constant mapping issues. Constant error messages. Can’t dock itself. When we dock and start a new job, it gets lost and tries to dock itself again. I’ve replaced the wheels in the vacuum twice. The battery has also been replaced. The mop has been used rarely (maybe a dozen times or so) being that just using our swiffer is simpler/easier. Even still, the mop will do 2 passes, then fault. The mop also never docked properly since day 1 regardless of location. I cannot stress enough how stupid I feel paying over a thousand dollars for these ugly, buggy, non-functional pieces of “technology.” OH, and they require the lights to be on to clean. So overnight cleaning is not an option and the vacuum is so loud that my spouse and I cannot have a conversation, or watch TV at a reasonable volume if we’re home while it cleans. Just get a dyson stick. We have 2 children under 2 y/o and this was supposed to help and the dyson is far easier/faster. iRobot was a COMPLETE WASTE.

Roomba Seems To Be Losing Their Edge

After having an older generation Roomba, I was excited to buy this new combo package to add some advanced room features and mopping to our house cleaning routine. Unfortunately, my experience was almost immediately soured by poor packaging, navigation, and customer service. Firstly, upon arriving, the s9+ made a horrible grinding noise when vacuuming around the house. After doing some research, it turns out their is a known defect where the brush housing is bent, causing the brushes and plastic framing to grind on the floor. I decided to put in a ticket for that. Meanwhile, I opened the Braava box to find that it had a defective lid. As soon as the mop bumped into something, the lid would spring open and fling the door clip across the floor. No worries, I thought. I'll open a ticket for that as well (while referencing my original ticket number) and just taped the lid shut in the meantime. Over the next several days, both the vacuum and mop really struggled to create an accurate map of our home and would often get lost- even in fully-lit rooms. In addition, they would complete jobs without ever going to rooms that were already on the map. This really added to my initial frustration as our several generations old Roomba could more easily navigate around the house without such erratic behavior. After a week, I still had not received a response to either support ticket opened with Roomba, despite them saying I should receive a response within 48 hours. Finally, after 9 days and as I was packing up the robots to return them, I received a response to my first ticket. They said they were in the process of switching customer service platforms and that led to the delay in responding. Sadly, I had enough at that point. I'm really disappointed by just how poor my experience was with this new generation of Roomba devices. I used to recommend them to everyone but now I'm more cautious about choosing them again. It seems they've gotten too comfortable at the top of the market and have been slow to adopt newer features like LIDAR for faster mapping and enhanced obstacle avoidance. In addition, these newer Roombas, while elegant-looking, don't seem to have the durability that the older devices had.

I bought this product in good condition then I started to get issues with it a couple months later so I called Iroomba to find out they sold me a product that was considered good that was over three years old used in two other people‘s homes. I’ve only used this thing a couple times, so I decided to open it up to find dog hair all over the inside of it. After three hours of fighting with my Roomba over the phone I could not get any help so I went to Best Buy geek squad I explained the situation and they basically said there was nothing that they can do. I’ve bought so many robot vacuums and can’t see myself going back Through Best Buy or with. iRobot after this experience. I have spent a couple hundred bucks on a robot that lasted me a couple of months and I can’t do anything about it and I’m now stuck with it then loud noises this thing makes is crazy that it’s developed. I’ve spent out of $200 at bringing places to get it looked at And I can’t even buy the parts that it needs. I don’t expect a robot that cost $1300 brand new to act like this. I’m overall very disappointed, and about five hours into this and 200 bucks on bringing a places to get it looked at and even trying to get it fixed.

    DO NOT PURCHASE THE S9

The M6 mop so far has worked amazingly. The S9+ has been a TOTAL disaster. The second day after receiving my s9 it started throwing an error 31 code. Even after several factory resets it would not function and throw the error 31 code. I have since received a replacement, the replacement kept throwing an error that the bin wasn't in the vacuum even though it was. After a factory reset it would work for a little bit, then it too threw the error 31 code. After a factory reset, it went back to the bin not being installed error. Now it's stuck on the error 31 code like the original and no matter how many factory resets stuck on error 31. I even removed the battery and did factory reset and still stuck on error 31. I called iRobot support and since this was my 2nd time having issues they needed to "escalate" to their escalation department and someone would call back within 24-48hrs. After 72 hours of no callback I called them and they said I needed to wait for the call back. It has now been 96hrs and still no callback. This is the worst customer service I have ever received for such an expensive product.

    Worst robot vacuum ever

Worst Robot vacuum ever. After running 5 map only runs without completion (caught/stuck/on a cliff), I gave up. I have owned 960 and i7. I wanted one for upstairs so I bought the new high end s9+ to replace the i7 downstairs. It was terrible. I returned the s9+ and bought the j7. Works like a dream. I love the obstacle avoidance of the j7 and the ease of setting off limit zones. 0 out of 10 do not recommend the s9+. Save your money

I had a basic cheap robot and I wanted to invest a new smart one and a mop and this package seemed ideal but I had so many issues that i had to return it: - It took it for ever create a map, I tried 3 times and never finished the map. - It stuck while working on a flufy carpet. - It ate a charger cable once - It could not climb when there was a tiny level difference. -It banged to objects and walls all the time There are so many better and cheaper vaccumes out there

The iRobot s9+ worked great for one week except that it would not store its maps for more than a day. By day eight I found it sitting in a room after running 15 minutes with its battery so dead that it could not make it to its charger. The s9+ did vacuum up the dirt better than the 10X original vacuums we own, leaving the floors looking better than with the older vacuums, until the battery failed. The Braava jet m6 mopper was a disappointment out of the box. It would not keep the map settings either and it left streaks on the floors even after 4 times going over after the s9+ vacuumed. I had the original mop and still have 2 500 and 600 Roomba vacuums and I love them. The original mop did a great job with the back and forth mopping motion. It broke down several years ago.

This is probably the worst robot vacuum we have owned. It gets stuck everywhere, it’s super loud and compared to Neato its embarrassing. The app is halfway decent. The mop will not leave my kitchen due to a small transition. It’s sad Best Buy doesn’t catch Neato products in store anymore and was forced to go backwards in regards to quality and technology.

For all the "advanced sensors" this has it works about as well as the base model. It spent hours smashing into baseboards and it still couldn't make a halfway decent map of my house. I am baffled by the fact this company is still in business. A $200 wyse vacuum does a much better job.

Don’t waste your money. Worked good until the return time was up. Now they get dumber every time you use them. They won’t return to the base, you have to pick them up and place them on the base. They get stick in spots and can’t figure out how to get out. You end up having to retrieve them. Worst investment I’ve made.

Defective product that has already been replaced once for constantly failing jobs with error 31 and 21, and the replacement did the same thing within a month. Do not buy this product, it is defective. The Brava M6 mop is great, and I recommend that, but buy someone else's vacuum.

    The WORST

These are the worst robots I've ever used. They are noisy, dumb, clumsy and frustrating. I wouldn't give these to my enemy. Absolute trash. Please do not buy these. It is absurd how many times these things have gotten "stuck" literally in the middle of a room with nothing around them. They don't work unless you leave the lights on. The mop won't go over the thinnest of transition strips without protesting. The cliff sensors get dusty and cause errors, but there's no way to service/clean them without destroying them. The battery doesn't last long enough to clean two rooms. In the time it takes the vacuum to do my living room and kitchen, I could vacuum and mop it by hand 5 times over. They both take the most tortured paths around the house. My laundry room for example is long and skinny. Instead of making two or 3 long passes down the length of the room, they will zigzag along the width of the room. Driving for 6 inches, stopping, turning around, driving for 6 inches, stopping, turning around...on and on for half an hour when it takes me 30 seconds to vacuum that room and I do a better job. I literally cannot say enough bad about these. They have no redeeming qualities. iRobot ownership is only suffering, there is no joy to be had. They create more problems than they solve. There are no pros, only cons. Now that they're owned by Amazon, I can't wait to get rid of them. I've had them listed on Marketplace for months and nobody wants them.

The vacuum hasn't worked out of the box. We finally got through to iRobot and they are sending out a new one but they are on back order for several weeks. Now my return window to Best Buy just expired. This vacuum better work as advertised or I will be very disappointed and out a lot of money! The mop seems to do a good job so far but haven't used it more than once since we don't have the vacuum.

I really wish I could give it 5 stars because the idea of not having to vacuum my self is great. However, I returned the vacuum and mop. The vacuum kept having an error with the lid. It would say not closed and it was. It could not vacuum without me babysitting it. It also had a hard time emptying its bin. It also could not vacuum my rugs. The mop is only good for a small area. I have stained concrete floors throughout my whole house. So I had to constantly change the mop pads. Even doing that it left streaks all over.
