Posted .Depending on the Mac's specifications, you may only be limited to one additional display at a time. Because the JCD387 is a PnP adapter, the monitors should be displaying once you connect the modular as there is no driver required. It looks and feels cheap. My j5 usb-c to Ethernet port doesn’t work on it. Also can’t charge my MacBook from the USB-c port that’s on the side. The magnets are not strong at all. I feel if I were to yank on a cable this thing would snap off the port easily. Don’t buy this one

Not worth the money. Poor warranty experience.

The manufacturer takes seven calendar days on average to reply to service emails. Chat and phone support are offered but never available. You'll be asked to return your defective device to the store first, which is meaningless if you're outside of your return window. The warranty replacement process involves shipping the device to some individual in the state of Georgia and waiting for a replacement device to be returned. This assumes that you meet their very stringent accessories return requirements (ie. they require that you return every single thing but the box, not simply the component that failed). In the meantime, you're obviously back to the functionality gap that this product bridged. Given their email turnaround, it's really hard to imagine they're going to be speedy with replacing anything. In summary: The customer experience for this product fails on many levels and is very disappointing. Will never buy again.

Would not recommend this product at all! Had to send back to manufacturer because Best Buys doesn't guarantee their products. A 15 day return policy is a a red flag that they don't care that they sell bad products, and don't really care to keep you as a customer. Returning faulty products should not be the obligation of the customer if they are shopping at your store. It only shows you the internal workings of Best Buys is incompetent that they cannot negotiate deals with their manufacturers, or demand quality from their manufacturers. I am still surprised this company is still in business.

Doesn't work if you use a case on your MacBook.

I was so excited when I found this product and had hoped this will be a solution to all my docking problems. But I am so disappointed. This does not work if you have a case on your MacBook. To use this I need to remove my case from MacBook. My MacBook case is one of the thinnest sleeve. I compared the length of the usb plug on this docking with other hubs I have and then length is a thread smaller, may be that is the reason. I will say this was a good designed product on paper but it did not work its purpose of being a docking station on the go if you have a protective case on the MacBook. I will be returning the item back to the store.

Sorry to hear that the JCD387 did not meet your needs for your MacBook. A case will prevent the USB plugs from seating fully into the ports on your computer. We have some options that have traditional USB-C plugs that may work better with a case. Some options that you may consider:

SD Card Reader Corruption

After photography fieldwork, I went to upload my photos onto my MacBook, and the SD card was corrupted. After formatting my SD card and trying again, the SD card was corrupted again. I went and purchased the Apple SD card adapter and formatted the same SD card once again, and now I’m having no issues. Just spend the money to purchase the adapter meant for the MacBook.

This mini docking station is designed to be plug and play with a MacBook Pro. One common issue that comes up is that the dock is not seated firmly into the USB ports on the computer. Only lasted for two months.

I purchased jcd381 doc only to find that it doesn’t recognize my external monitors. I found out that I had to download a driver which I did but still didn’t work. I issued a support ticket but still waiting for them to respond.

I needed multiple screens so that I could work and multi task. This is not compatible with newer MacBook Pro's with M1. It is only compatible with MacBook Pro's and MacBook Air with intel.
