The two cords that plugged it into the wall and the pc made it so the angle on the usb port was either in an awkward angel or upside down. After 2 months of owning this however 4 of the 7 ports decided to not work suddenly and I have confirmed on multiple pc's the same issue. Convieniently this happened mere weeks after my return window so now I am stuck with a product that can do less than half of what it is supposed to do.

With 2 external drives (one for booting because internal went bad after 10 years and the other for backups) and a keyboard and mouse I don't have any more available for adding another external drive for main storage. So far this is working well for my intentions.

Will not plug into Apple "C" port.

But it only has a USB hub, so you need another adaptor to plug it in to get it to work. Sadly the thing says MacOS on the box. I would have expected it to fit current Apple devices.

Posted .The USB 3.0 7-Port HUB has a USB Type-A cable connector. You will need to go with the JCH377 USB-C 7- Port Hub that will come with a USB-C cable connector.
Most Ports Dead in Less Than a Year

Now the port on the very end along with the two ports on the front nearest to the side port no longer work. Tried multiple ports on multiple computers and it's the same issue. Cheap trash, glad it's no longer available at least. Will not trust j5 for any other electronics.

This hub would cause I/O errors when I connected a 3 TB WD Passport hard drive which caused data loss. Also, when plugging in a drive in the port next to a port that already had a drive connected (so that would make only 2 drives connected to the hub) the hub would momentarily lose connectivity with my computer which would cause the operating system to think both drives had just been unplugged and plugged back in. Terrible! I went back to an Insignia 4 port usb3 powered hub and have no more I/O errors. With the 4 port Insignia everything works as expected.

Even when I unplugged it and plugged it back in, same thing happened. I hope it hasn’t damaged my external hard drive. It is not compatible with external devices that are plugged into it. Buyer beware!

Posted .Although some external hard drives work with the JUH377, there are some models that require more power than what can be obtained via the JUH377. This is due to the JUH377 obtaining it's power from the computer's USB port; when this occurs, the power becomes divided amongst the whole JUH377, thus reducing the amount of power available and causing peripherals such as hard drives to not work properly. This would explain the ticking you experienced from your external hard drive. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience here. The wall wart is enormous

But, the use a huge brick and it takes up a ton of space. Also, the USB feed to/from the computer to the hub uses a proprietary plug on the hub end so DO NOT LOSE THE SUPPLIED CABLE. The hub design is great, very thin and durable but it's going back because of the wall wart.

They are both terrible products. They work very intermittently. If you are going to plug anything into a J5 Create product that you need to rely on such as a monitor, bluetooth adapter or hard drives then just don't.

Took it back within a couple of days. I have many devices and computers, both Windows and Mac. Tried unplugging power, etc. No amount of unplugging and plugging back in worked at times until everything was and with work from home and devices and the worst times having issues I just said, “No”.

Read before buying

The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because the USB to the J5 has to be plugged into the computer and the computer has to be on in order to charge multiple devices. There is one port which will charge full time while not plugged into a computer and it would be great if they had one or two more of those on this strip. Other than that, no complaints.
