The plug part HAS NEVER WORKED. I have to plug devices in via computer power to charge.

It is horribly slow and makes ext hard drive click

There is only a limited amount of power that the hub can support even when it has the optional power adapter plugged in. Multiple high powered devices like external hard drives may require more power that the dock can provide. For further assistance you can contact j5create customer service. Died out in less than a week.

There are limitations to the amount of power that will go through the USB hub. We would recommend connecting higher power devices like external hard drives or disk drives directly to the computer. Posted .Scruden, I appreciate your feedback on the JUH377. The USB hub is intended for use with mice, keyboards, flash drives, web cameras. In the case where you might be using peripherals such as hard drives, CD drives, printers - these may not work. This is due to the peripherals requiring a higher amount of power to function correctly and therefore will not work. The JUH377 obtains it's power from the computer's USB port and when it becomes divided amongst 7 ports, you only have up to 0.9 amps per port, even if the peripheral had it's own power source.
