It is convenient not having to eject one to use another. You could plug in a Fitbit to charge while you are just sitting there working. This is my 2nd one for home and I carry one to use with my laptop.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This USB extender as I call it is great for general devices such as flash drives etc. there is one dedicated port for charging devices and it’s heavily recommended to use the AC power source that comes with it. For those that use musical devices via usb that can be critical on latency, it can be tricky but I’ve not had a total failure of a device due to latency yet.

It was also a huge bonus to have a dedicated charging port as well as it's own power supply so i no longer worry about all of my accessories killing my laptops battery life. I haven't noticed any performance lag on my devices

hub works well on my desktop
