The jaybird freedoms are a very good pair of earphones. They fit comfortably in the ear and they are light weight. They are sweatproof and last 8 hours. I do like the ear fins as they do make a better fit. The control dongle is a bit on the heavy side but with the ear fins and shirt clip it prevents it from falling to one side. The carry pouch is very convenient. The only negative thing I would have to say about them is the way you charge them. It comes with a little battery pack that you put on the back of the earphones and plug into a micro USB cable into the wall plug. You have to be careful as not to lose them. For you can't charge them without it. Overall a good set of earphones to use on the daily basis. Also you can change the way your music sounds with the jaybird app. It has different presets or you can customize it yourself.

I was a bit unsure about these at first because I've never had any real luck with earbuds staying in my ears while working out. My ears are small and even the smallest tips never work for me. I was pleasantly surprised with the Jaybirds.
Not only do they sound great, but they stayed in during my whole workout. I use the foam tips and the wings. They fit great and are very comfortable, and the foam tip really helps to block the outside noise. They do not advertise as noise canceling but they do a pretty good job of it.
My only complaint is the battery. It advertises at 8 hours which is not really true. It's really a four hour battery with an adapter than can get you another 4 hours. It weird wearing them with the adapter attached because one side becomes a bit heavier. It wasn't a deal breaker for me, but I think they should rethink that in the next model.

Older is Better

The older versions of these work so much better. Jaybird tried to hard to reinvent the wheel with these newer ones. There's a charging pack that attaches to the earbud loop; which means if you lose that you're screwed. Also it means you have less of a charge available on the earbuds themselves. I really don't want to write an entire negative article, but when I dropped $150 on these and the BB protection plan, I felt like I should be reliving the same experience or better than the last pair of Jaybirds I bought. Since then, I've purchased a $10 pair of Poms. The sound quality on the Poms is less than that of the Jaybirds, but the fit, ruggedness, and utility are far superior. I can live w/o surround sound in the gym.

Reading reviews, I thought the sound quality would be much better. Bass sounds lifeless. Far from a “rich sound” I saw in another review. The little charger thing you have to clip to the unit to charge is a bad idea. I can see people easily misplacing it. Wish you could just plug directly into it, but that would mean the size of the power on and volume unit would need to be thicker. Still, the space saving to me is a design flaw. Doesn’t come with a wall plug; just a short usb cable.
On the Pro side: The storage pouch is nice. As long as you keep the charger plug thingy in it? You should be ok. The headphones are light and you can’t feel them on... until they start to hurt your ears. I fixed the discomfort by changing the ear things from what the come with to the smaller size. Decent unit for the $49.99 sale price.

The headphones are light and comfortable with great sound but the battery does not last as long after the first few charges and if the extra battery/charging port is lost or breaks u will no longer be able to use them and very hard to find a replacement charging battery!

Great sound and the ability to CUSTOMIZE the sound is an excellent feature! The charging unit is kinda weird and probably useful to some but all I see is just another small, proprietary peace that's easily lost! Not sure how to describe it but I'd suggest looking it up before you buy! Definitely secure in the ear once you figure out how they fit.. pretty comfortable but the large control node is heavy and pulls the headphones to one side if they are just hanging around your neck. Comes with a shirt clamp but that's trash!! I'm gonna try to return it to Best Buy.. wish me luck!

Great headphones. Good sound. Battery lasts up to 8 hours. The only things I'm not really fond of is the earpiece attachments and the slightly oversized battery attachment. I thought the earpiece attachments were a bit on the flimsy side. Once I put them in, the oversized battery attachment pulled the one side out of my ear. I recommend the headphones but I think the attachments for the speakers should be the design of the ones that come with the JBL headphones. My wife had an extra pair so I use them instead of the ones that are included. For me they work like a charm and even reduces background to a more comfortable level.

I use these while working (landscaping in FL heat= alot of prolonged sweating). Using the sport tips and fins they never fall out or get snagged on anything. The sound quality is also great. The mysound app is simple and a great addition. I have only had to use the charging clip a few times and while it does add a bit more weight its barely noticeable that being said battery life is pretty decent and quick to fully charge. These are very well thought out. Im sure they can somehow be better but after about a month of almost daily use i cant find any flaws. Build quality and the included accesories are also very nice. Premium product right down to the packaging.

Running or jogging they stay in and I have weird ear canals. Left ear lager fin with medium silicon tip, right ear lager fin with small foam tip, tight to my head with one crimp, and with the charger battery; they stay in. Try them for your self if you want to go wireless.

Only had these for 5 months and one of the eat pieces broke. I am careful with them. Shoved the headphones in my pocket in their case with my keys and when I remove the headphones they were broken. It took me years to break another pair from a different manufacturer and they still technically work. I treated those much worse than these headphones. On top of that they did not stay in your ears due to the weight. Will never buy a jaybird product again as their warranty is terrible.

Bluetooth connectivity is worse than any other Bluetooth headset. Keeps disconnecting even when my mobile is kept in my trousers pocket. i would like to return this item. I started using headset late as a result of which lost the return policy from BestBuy. Please don't buy this product.

I got a great deal, which persuaded me to pull the trigger on getting this. It wasn't until after I got the box I realized that the "Special Edition" merely means "less accessories." The non-special versions have more ear tip options. Fortunately, the ones that were included worked for me.
Based on sound and comfort alone, these would get 5 stars. I'm shocked to get so much bass from these svelte ear pieces. The battery is clearly in the control module instead of the buds as the other models from Jaybird. That makes the control module a bit bulkier and heavier, but not enough to be a distraction for the way I wear these. They will pull to the right if you use the wire-down and behind the neck fit. They include a clip to hold the wire to the back middle of your shirt. I thought that was an odd thing to include in the box until I wore them and then understood the need. If you wear them in the over-ear method and adjust the wire length with the adapters they fit snug, don't move around and the added weight in the controls is less noticeable. The small ear buds allow for helmets, earmuffs or whatever. I like to listen to music when i sleep sometimes but I'm married and my spouse don't care for that. If I wear these with the under-ear fit and hanging down in front instead of around the back of my head I hardly know they are there. I can sleep on my side even and there's not issue. There are no other bluetooth headphones I've tried that can do that.
The biggest issue I have is the battery life. I use my headphones a lot and 4 hours just isn't great. The portable battery does the trick when needed, but adds a lot of heft. Also, another thing to carry around. It's nice that if you only need 4 hours at a time, you can leave the battery plugged in and use it like a dock, but then grab it for on the go just in case. Still, I'd rather get 6-8 on the headphones without another accessory to carry around.
The app with the custom sound profiles is pretty nice. I thought it was gimicky until I tried it and heard the difference. You can use the presets, make your own or get ones made by others in the community. It's pretty cool. Also, the app can switch the left and right ear for those using the over-ear fit (the older models didn't have that option). I wish the app would allow you to lower the notification sounds or change the power on/off sound effects.
I use multi-point (meaning I'm connected to a tablet and smart phone at the same time) quite a bit, so this feature was a must-have. It works great. I haven't tried the unique feature of pairing one of these to another headphone of the same model so both people can listen to the same device at once. I don't have much use for that, but could see that being handy on the plane or a road trip.

I'll preface this review by stating that I have been using the Power Beats wireless headphones and was looking for something a little less bulky for my runs. The Beats held great but are a little big for my taste. Now the Freedom headphones. These were advertised as lightweight, comfortable and were to have a great sound. First, The earbuds themselves are definitely small and lightweight. They fit well in the ear when not running or moving around too much. Unfortunately, the volume control is really bulky and weighs down the headphones. If you run or move around the weight room as I do, the earbuds do not maintain the seal needed for a good sound. I am constantly adjusting the earbuds. The beats, although bulky, just stay in place. I like that you are able to adjust the sound to your liking with the free app. The sound quality is good when the earbuds are in place. They definitely have more clarity than the Beats and allow room for harmonic content. The sound is clear and not muddy like the beats. The downside is they severely lack in the low end and are not nearly as powerful as I'd like them to be. With the volume all the way up, it's about half the output of the Beats. Overall these are decent headphones. Not as bulky as the beats. Better sound clarity but not enough power to get me motivated. Who wants to hear Hendricks at half volume? The big downfall is the ability of these headphones to stay in your ear while running. The mic is just too big and heavy for the earbuds to stay in. Would be worth the price for $99. Not $199.

The best wireless headphones for my helmet. The ear buds don’t move when I put them in and the sound is loud enough to drowned out the wind and motor noice. Great for on and off track. The app is cool to dial in the sound how I like it. Price point is good. The charging adapter could be integrated or permanently added to opposite side of the power volume buttons to balance it out. It pulls to one side slightly when the whole until is plugged in BUT over all the best experience I have had with wireless headphones. Perfect for training in the gym or outside. Very happy with my purchase..!!
