I was suprised this speaker sounded so good. Music sounds like a quality small Bluetooth speaker. It is also great when using it as speaker phone. Built in kickstand is also a great feature. Durability seems pretty be good after a few months. The only downside is the inability to control the EQ of the speaker sound. I read that a future version may improve that. Otherwise this is a great Mood addition to you're MOTO phone.

When I want to listen to some music and I'm not near my regular speakers, I pop off my Moto Z Force's Style Mod backplate and snap on the JBL SoundBoost Moto Mod, and just like that, I have much better sound. Full disclosure, I'm a slight margin shy of being an Audiophile, so please understand that the JBL speakers are pretty bad quality for speakers in general, but excellent for being as small as they are and attached directly to a phone. For the extreme portability I find them fully acceptable. They have much better bass and overall clarity than the built in phone speaker, though I find them to be slightly tinny and accentuate the highs a little too much. They also go much, much louder and maintain quality at high volumes without clipping or distortion. These sound significantly better than an older portable stereo speaker I have, and this is so much more portable and integrates directly into the phone - no wires or wasted energy using Bluetooth. The excellent design of this also includes a built in battery so it doesn't kill your phone super quickly, yet the phone can also power the speakers once the built in battery does die. The speaker's battery can be charged while the phone is charging if it is attached, or it can be charged separately via a USB Type-C charger (e.g. the one that comes with any Moto Z). Also the integrated kickstand is handy and puts the phone at a good angle for watching something or just for keeping the speaker off the table without having to put your phone screen-down. So overall this is an excellent addition to a Moto Z or Moto Z Force. The sound quality isn't remotely close to audiophile grade, but nobody expects a speaker this small to be... Therefore, taking everything into perspective, I give this 5 stars.

This speaker came at no cost with my Moto Z Force phone due to a special Best Buy was offering at the time, but after having used it, I would have been willing to pay for it if it hadn't. The sound is so clear and crisp. I've used it with Pandora and Google Play Music extensively. I really appreciate the built-in kickstand it offers, too. I only wish it would swivel so the phone could be portrait or landscape depending on what made the most sense at the time. While it's obviously not as good as a proper sound system would be, I've never seen a device this small and affordable put out such great sound. I keep the speaker connected at all times, even when my phone is in my pocket. It can be charged while connected to the phone, and the speaker also charges quickly with the phone while charging via the phone's TurboPower charging adapter.

Well this is not a freaking blasting speaker to begin with,but it is loud enough to give a praise for it.I find myself using it a lot of times instead of the phone's built in speaker lll because it's louder and also saves the battery from the phone draining from the sound. The biggest praise I can give it is that most of the times of I'm streaming a show online and then I use Bluetooth a lot of times the sound will break and the movie would buffer a lot, this takes care of that because it's not Bluetooth so it's great.Battery life maybe 3 to 4 hours of continuous use at the loudest. A little heavy but worth traveling with it. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

I have been very impressed with this JBL moto mod. This is the must have mod for every Moto Z series owner. There is nothing like having awesome sound blasting from your moto mod attached to the phone. It really makes the user experience more immersive. Some people will argue that the JBL moto mod doesn't produce as loud or as great as sound of a similar priced portable bluetooth speaker. Those people are completely missing the point and fail to realize the real pros of the JBL moto mod. Pros? 1. Convenience factor. It is so easy and quick to just snap on. Easier than connecting to a portable bluetooth speaker. 2. Portability factor. It weighs just a measly 5 ounces and doesn't make it so bulky that you can't carry it around. A portable bluetooth speaker weighs like 2 pounds and you aren't gonna carry portable speaker with your left hand and carry your phone with your right hand. I have a portable bluetooth speaker but it isn't as useful as the JBL moto mod. 3. Sound factor. It is awesome. Crystal clear with depth and nice. 4. Immersive sound from the phone/moto mod factor. There is a big difference when watching some movie/show/GAME and hearing great sound from your phone/moto mod rather than hearing a portable bluetooth speaker from the other side of the room. This makes the user experience lot more enjoyable and it is the biggest PRO for me. 5. The underrated stand factor. So nice to just flip up the stand and watch a video. 6. Solid battery life factor. 10 hours of built-in battery life. I highly recommend this JBL Moto Mod. All those great critic reviews and user reviews for this JBL Moto Mod are legit.

No need to carry separate bluetooth speaker with this device. Sounds is good, but don't expect big bass. Can use the phone relatively comfortably while attached. Attaching magnetically for easy on-off is great without having to worry about the speaker falling off or coming loose. Great battery life and will hold a reasonable charge for more than a week without use.

The speaker is fun if you are into moto mods. Bass is pretty weak, but not unexpected in a speaker this size. It gets fairly loud without distorting. I think adding bluetooth connectivity so you could use it without attaching it to the phone would be great, since you might want to use other mods and listen to the speaker at the same time. Also, I don't know why every mod doesn't offer this, but they should all provide extended charge for your phone and none of them do except the actual battery mod, as far as I know.

no cons, great sound, thin, great battery, I recommend the JBL mod

This speaker does add quite a bit of volume and is certainly better than the built-in speakers. The battery lasts a good while and connection is incredibly easy without having to pair it with your phone. The sound quality itself is decent, with good highs but not much bass. Only negative is that since my Moto Z phone stopped working, the speaker is now worthless to me as there is no way to connect or pair it to a different brand of phone.

This speaker mod will change the way you listen to things on your phone. It is way better than any Bluetooth speak in the same price category. Where do i begin? The sound quality and volume is exceptional for some thing of it's size. The battery life is unbelievably long. You have a new dimension in playing games, listening to music, and watching movies. There is no lag when watching movies unlike some Bluetooth speakers. The only drawback is I wish it came with a satin bag to put it in when not in use. This will dust and other small particles out of the speaker grill area.

Very cool idea from Motorola. The Mods just " snap" (actually they're magnetic) onto the back of your phone and the music never stops playing. Sounds seamlessly transition from device speakers to the Mod. Very cool! The sound is good, about what you would expect from a tiny boom box. It is handy to have when you want to go somewhere with tunes, and not have to lug around your Bluetooth speaker. My only thought for you to consider is that the Mods only work when the phone is bare (no cover / case). I only use my phone with a case due to the thinness and sleekness of the phone. So that is kind of a hassle to remove the case every time you want to use a Mod.

Got this for free with the Droid Force pre-order. I don't know that I would pay $80 for it over the other bluetooth options that are out there but it is a very nice speaker and if you don't want something else to have to carry its perfect. The sound is good for the size and thickness. It's a great improvement to the integrated speakers. It's definitely loud enough for most situations and not draining the phone battery nice is a plus.

This little speaker is pretty great if you're realistic about what it should be able to do. I love how quick and easy it just snaps on the back of the phone (magnetically). The sound is good for the size and it's pretty loud and clear. There's no way I personally would pay more than $20-$30 for it though. Maybe I'm cheap, but for $60 or $70 I want something larger and more powerful (maybe that's not realistic though). Either way, I got it free through a pre-order deal best buy had for the Moto Z Force. So I'm more than happy with it!

This little thing really rocks. Great sound and not too big. The battery last a long time and the unit charges quickly.

Anyone who buys a Moto Droid that takes these attachments, I recommend buying this one, because you need an extended battery for sure and this one comes with great speakers so way better value for the cash.

This is the first Moto Mod I have purchased for my phone and I was very pleased with the sound quality and ease of use. Got it on sale too, so it was an added bonus.

I have always been a JBL fan, but this mod is very impressive and a must have. Nice to have that something extra when working and playing. Attaches right to the phone so it takes up very little room and no need to pack additional speakers, charging cords and so on. Now I like Bluetooth and works well but have you ever been singing along with your favorite tune and it cut out on you!!! That bothers me too!!! especially when I am hitting a high notet!! LOL!!! My dogs and cats sure appreciate it not cutting out anymore. I have listen to the bose - and other Bluetooth speakers and for the money and the sound this cant be beat!!!

Bought with my Moto Z Play so I have something to use to play music while doing chores. The sound is pretty decent for such a small set of speakers. My favorite feature is that it has a pop-out kickstand so you can set the phone anywhere to play sound and video. JBL label makes the price tag a bit high, but still fairly solid for 80 bucks. More worth it if you can catch it on sale.
