Purchased this unit nearly 2 years ago and it simply isn't a very good product and it's only getting worse. 1. At the time of purchase, I used a Note 4 phone and there were some minor compatibility issues. When plugged into the Aux USB port, the unit was able to read and play the music on my phone, however it would only play from my full music library rather than playing from the playlist I selected. 2. After upgrading phones to the Note 8, the unit is unable to read ANY music on my phone when connected via USB. The only way to play music is through Bluetooth. 3. The screen/display is TERRIBLE even on a cloudy day. 4. Making/receiving phone calls via bluetooth was fine with my Note 4, but after upgrading to the Note 8, bluetooth disconnects whenever I make a call or answer and incoming call. Sometimes it reconnects quickly, sometimes it doesn't reconnect at all. 5. I've tried installing firmware updates and followed the directions precisely as written, however the unit will not apply the update. JVC/Kenwood also seems to be seriously lacking in regards to putting out updates to maintain compatibility with newer phones. So this might be a great unit if you've got an 8 year old cell phone, but if you're the type who likes to upgrade phones every 2 years, then avoid this unit at all costs. And probably avoid JVC/Kenwood completely as they don't seem to provide the necessary updates to keep their product compatible with the newest phones. 6. It doesn't come with a remote. I never even thought to ask if it came with one because I've not seen a modern unit that doesn't come with one in the last 20 years. 7. The touchscreen sensitivity is awful. You have to be extremely precise with your touch points and sometimes you have to press pretty hard. System response is also slow and clunky. In short, it's a joke of a product.

but reviews convinced me I would like all the features on this one - so far I have been very satisfied, although I haven't scratched the surface of what it can do - blew out the door speakers on my 15 year old Highlander so I guess I should have replaced them at same time!
