Needed a new car stereo system to replace original because CD player failed. Steered to this model as one of few remaining that offered CD and HD radio. Waited a week for product to ship to me, then three more for an install appointment. A few days after the install, I tried to use the CD player for the first time. It doesn't work. Called the store to inquire about honoring the manufacturer warranty and got the run around.

This is a review for the KDC-HD458U, which I bought here about a year ago, but may have been discontinued. This model (KDC-HD262U) is similar to what I bought. I have been very happy overall with the KDC-HD458U, it immediately sounded better than my stock radio/cd player I replaced. I mostly use the cd player, aux input and radio, including HD. On my unit the HD radio stopped working after several months (the radio still worked but I stopped getting HD stations), BUT I had purchased a two year warranty extension thru Best Buy and they replaced it with no problems. The HD has been working fine on the replacement unit for the past six months. So I do recommend the player (or similar model since mine is not available), it works and sounds great, but DO get the extended warranty, it's worth the few extra bucks in this case (often warranties are never needed).

I had to replace radio/cd player in my car so after looking over the available ones at local Best Buy, I chose this one since it looked good and kenwood has a great reputation. Well, it sounds great but the display is impossible to see in daylight. Too much glare from the face and none of the colors are bright enough to see the display except in lower light. I would also prefer the stations be shown as their freq. numbers rather than call letters to make it easier to know what station is set. The clock is so small it is almost impossible to read and have to keep resetting the time as it doesn't stay set

Terrible quality. Power button stopped working after a week. Going back as soon as I can clear schedule. For buy this

Bought this to upgrade the stock unit in my 98' Chevy. Amp section is ok for stock speakers. Experimenting with internal x-over and amps x-over to balance system out. A lot of adjustments are possible with this unit. Should work great when I upgrade amps and speakers later. Sub out to Kicker amp and 2x12" sub. Plenty of output to amp. Having to lower the gain on the amp quit a bit to match up levels. Flashdrive works faster than mp3 or phone based music. Cd, radio are good. Nice to have music in my rig again.

Missing parts. Bought an open box was told everything was there... it wasn't

I got this head unit for my 1997 crown Vic because the factory deck was not pushing enough power to the speakers. Easy to install. It made my factory speakers come to life. I can't wait to see how it'll sound when I get new speakers installed. Very pleased.

Just what I needed. A replacement for my factory stereo with great sound, lots of features, and at a reasonable price. Built in EQ, USB, AUX and with IPhone and Android compatibility. Love the ability to change the colors also. This Kenwood rocks.

I installed this in my 02 escape, and it sounds great! I love the different features it has, and the color changing it's just great quality.

We bought this new Kenwood car stereo to replace the factory one, and it has been amazing! The sound is great! It's like hearing all my music over for the first time. I make up errands so I can listen to more music in the car. The service at Best Buy was great!

Great cd player crystal clear vocals .i got this cd player for my dad truck and it sounds so good.

I would recommend this radio. Good quality at a low price. I really like the HD radio & USB.

Radio play great. Reviewing Warranty. Something I believe is very important when buying and thing. I purchased this Radio from Best Buy. 12/12/2016 I installed it on 12/15/2016 and the Remote was not working. They want you to mail them the remote on your own dime. Which will cost your about 5 dollar, when remote only cost 10. That is the crazy thing I ever heard. I will never ever buy Kenwood again. I will hate to use the radio 1 year warranty. Told Kenwood I was going to place this on ever review site I could fine. He said he did not care...
