    Looks good, but Avoid KitchenAid

We purchased the unit less than 4 years ago. Already we had to replace the icemaker ($500) and now the vinyl strips on inside of both doors have split so we don't have a proper seal. This time KitchenAid offered to pay for the part but not the service. Even though others have complained of this problem! Avoid KitchenAid - look for a manufacturer that's more reliable.

4 year Old Fridge Sold in 2019 Be Warned

Best buy sold us a fridge that was mfg 2016, we paid full price for it. When the fridge stopped cooling due a refrigerant leak. Bought in 2019, broke in 2020. I'd make sure you double check with best buy the age of the unit BEFORE it ships. Whirlpool the MFG of the fridge is willing to cover the costly repair after spending hours on hold, but lucky for us the pieces are on a national back order! The design of the freezer was poor because the cause of the leak was due to humidity and ice build up because the freezer door doesn't close well. The design failure was two fold, door design closing poorly (no alarm in this case), build up of ice, and the ice build up caused the refrigerant line to crack, a thin layer of aluminum protecting obviously not enough...

DOORS RUST AFTER ONLY A SHORT TIME - LEMON!!!!!

Don't buy it! It fits good and looks good but the design is very poor. I didn't believe prior reviews but after owning it for only 3 years the doors were all replaced under the original warranty because they have rust spots all over. (And we don't live near the ocean)!!! Now the new doors are doing the same thing. The water is on the left and you have to open the right door first - now the seal is broken. Even though it is under the extended warranty they do not cover rust. Kitchen Aid refuses to do anything because it's under warranty. If you don't mind a brand new rusty stainless steel then buy it. Totally disappointed and disgusted with this purchase.
