Nice but could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Make sure when you purchase this, that you know how big it actually is. It is very deep, which gives a lot of space, but also makes it very difficult to reach things, that are all the way in the back, or on the top shelf. Also, the ice/water portion could use a lot of work. There is no "drip tray" and the water has a small lag, so even when you let go of the water mechanism, water still comes out for a short time. Also, there is often condensation build up in the bottom of the ice tray, which causes the ice tray to jam and will not release ice. You have to physically remove the tray, empty the ice, then let the ice melt from the bottom of the tray, to make the ice release work again. For the price you pay, you would expect simple things like these to be addressed. Otherwise, it is a nice application with minor drawbacks.

Believe reviews about ice maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator almost 2 years ago. Large family and we wanted all the extra space and drawers. Positives are it is beautiful, bright on inside and large. Negatives are no matter what is tried doors don't match up, so does distract from your eyes. If sales person tells you the store model is used a lot so it looks like that, do not believe him or her yours will look like that out of the box. Even install guys laughed at me and said yours looks better then others. Worst part is ice. I read low ice output and figured we could live it and we have. Biggest issue is I have had to disassemble the unit twice to let dry out or thaw out and it will start to make ice again. Seriously has Kitchen aid not figured out how to keep an ice maker making ice for a year at least. I can fix anything myself and do take it a part and put it back together, but at this price point should I really being doing this. Freezer is large for this type of refrigerator. Unfortunately the two drawers are plastic and cracked within months of owning. Not sure plastic drawers belong in a freezer. I would not buy again and recommend you to keep looking. Honest review hope you find a refrigerator that works for you. Good Luck

Buyer Beware!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful on the outside, but the frrezer does mot function well. We had a local repair company who is contracted by KitchenAid three times. The first onev was a joke, staying maybe ten minutes. The freezer leaves frost on the top rack and second rack of freezer. They say it’s “not enough” to service. My daughter has the same exact refrigerator, and there is no frost. The product is suppose to be “frost free”. I’ve been on phone with Kitchenaid - aka Whirlpool to no avail. Just stalling until warranty is no longer on their dime. I will never buy KitchenAid again. We purchased all KitchenAid for our new home. The dishwasher is the only one decent.

great fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we needed to upgrade our fridge. So we went online and looked at reviews. Once we got to the store we found this one with a open in box and display unit. got a great deal on it. We love the two separate draws in the middle for fresh fruits or veges. Some of the reviews talk about loud ice maker, haven't even heard it running.

quality and beauty rolled into one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our old small refrigerator with this huge refrigerator. We have a big garden in the summer and I love to can pickles and have lots of company. I love to cook and it is now so easy to work out of our new Kitchen Aid!! The shelves are glass and the plastic drawers in this refrigerator are heavy duty and so much more solid than other refrigerators we looked at. The freezer compartment is huge with 3 levels to organize your food. It is not airy and open as other models. Plus this refrigerator has separate compressors for the freezer and the refrigerator. It is quiet and is beautiful to look at. Makes great ice and as long as you place your glass up high close to the spout there is no splash. Some reviewers have complained about the way the water comes out but as long as you have good water pressure it is just fine. It makes enough ice for us and the cubes are a nice size. This unit has 2 French doors and 2 drawers below them. Plus a freezer below that. 5 drawers!!! One of the drawers is for produce and the other drawer can be programmed to defrost or marinate food, or store cheese or cold cuts at the perfect temperature. I am in heaven with this refrigerator. Just blows away everything else out there in its price range. Truly outstanding. We are so glad we chose Kitchen Aid. Best Buy was fantastic to deal with and they gave us a good price.

love, Love, LOVE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We originally wanted to buy the samsung 4 door fridge with a convertible compartment, but after reading several horrible reviews about samsung customer service and the reliability of that model we went in a different direction. We had a side by side for 17 years and weren't very fond of the french doors with bottom pull out freezers so we were looking at other side by sides when Lori, the very patient sales woman at Pacific Sales warehouse pointed out this 5 door beauty. We were hesitant at first, because it was slightly bigger than they dying fridge we had and a completely different set up, but decided to welcome the change. It was the second delivery of this model the delivery guys delivered, but the first time they had to take the doors off. Before purchasing the fridge we read a review that stressed the importance of the doors being taken off and put back on correctly and the two guys did an AMAZING job. We've had the fridge for a little over a week now and absolutely love it! Hoping to have it for a long time.

I really wanted to LOVE it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this refrigerator 16 months now. Got it at a great price ($2,569). I debated between this and the refrigerators that had the single drawer in the middle (where this has two), and honestly, bought this one because of the black stainless steel and the grey interior. It is gorgeous! It serves my needs well, I like the layout for the most part. I keep the middle drawers filled with drinks and fruit. I live alone, so capacity isn't an issue. I do like that the freezer drawer has some resistance to opening, so my toddler grandson can't open. I really want to say I love it, but for the money, there are quirks that shouldn't be there: 1. The two middle drawers are self-closing, and there's an alarm that goes off if a refrigerator door is left open, BUT, there is no alarm for the freezer drawer, which isn't self-closing. Twice now I've thought it was shut all the way but it wasn't, only to later find a heavy frost on everything inside it. It is a ridiculous design flaw that there's no alarm for the freezer drawer. 2. The ice/water dispenser has a slight delay to the shut-off. I'm talking 1-1.5 seconds. Doesn't sound like much, but every single person that uses it naturally pulls their container away when they're done, only to discover that water or ice continues to fall out for that 1-1.5 seconds and it hits the floor. I've learned to adjust, but again, a design flaw. 3. The left refrigerator door that has the icemaker in it is very heavy. What this means is that, with just the slightest touch, it shuts as if you'd slammed it, causing everything in it to rattle. (Not sure this could be avoided, though, because of the in-the door icemaker, which is something I wanted.) 4. The interior drawers in the refrigerator have "produce preserver" housings. These are small, cage-like boxes that hold a packet that, I'm guessing from the name, is supposed to help preserve produce. The cages adhere to the insides of the drawers with suction cups. I found these to be useless. After a while, the cups no longer held so the preserver units were just loose in the drawers. I threw both away. 5. The water filter compartment holds water. So when you lower the door to reach the filter, that water dribbles out onto the shelf below. Again, something I've learned to anticipate, but frustrating. 6. The push buttons on the ice/water dispenser are finicky. It's hard to tell exactly how you're supposed to push - under the words? on the words? push? tap? After almost a year and a half, it's still hit and miss with me. Word of advice - if you notice the water is dispensing slower than usual, it's because the filter is clogged. These things aren't cheap (I think I pay about $50 each on Amazon), and the first two lasted about 6 months each, but the last one became clogged after only 3 months. I've removed it for now because the dispenser was so irritatingly slow and I'm not willing to shell out the money again. However, with no dispenser, the water gushes...so be prepared. With the exception of the filter, I think these other issues are all design-related, which is why I wouldn't buy again. It's not like I got it home and didn't like the layout or size or looks, which is a matter of personal taste. These issues shouldn't exist in an appliance of this price range. At this price, I should either really love it or really hate it, not be frustrated with things that could've been addressed in manufacturing. Makes me wonder how happy I would've been with the other models I looked at.

Buy the extended warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've owned this refrigerator for five years and while it has always kept the correct temperatures, it has several failures or deficiencies. 1. The water dispenser drip tray is very shallow. When water spills from the tray, it can go into the drawer underneath where there is an electrical panel, causing it to malfunction. We have kids and that happened to us in the first year of ownership. That panel had to be replaced. Additionally, there were other electrical issues which resulted in replacement of the main computer board and all lighting. 2. The freezer drawers are very flimsy and their fronts pop off easily. 3. In year four of ownership, the icemaker went out. 4. In year five of ownership, the fridge developed a problem where it intermittently would sound the open door alarm for no apparent reason. Technicians replaced door switches and ran computer checks but could not identify the issue, rendering the refrigerator unrepairable. We did purchase an extended warranty and were reimbursed the cost of the refrigerator. We now have a free refrigerator that periodically beeps and buzzes for no apparent reason. I would not buy this model again.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this refrigerator ❤️ Much easier to organize and see items. I have had it since June and no issues so far! I replaced an LG french door and this kitchen aid is much more spacious and the drawers are awesome. The freezer space is well organized with a pizza drawer and two pull out shelves. Great product!
