Moved twice in 2 years. Had a 5k Jennaire before we moved. Purchased Cafe series double ovens at the next house and they were terrible! Purchased this a year ago for our newest home. I’m a big baker. This is almost as the Jennaire for half the price. Heats evenly. Looks great. Works super well.

I ordered this oven after seeing the reviews on 1/24/18 in the Black Stainless Steel to be delivered on 3/10/18. Oven was delivered, damaged in 3 places but functional. BestBuy stated to keep it to use until re-order could be done. Re-ordered and was to be delivered on 4/27/17 only to get a call from the store manager the day before @ 7:20PM to let me know it would be delayed due to short stock and new date is 6/8/18. So almost a 6 month process with no guarantees on if this one will be delivered in pristine condition. Of the one I have now, the timer setting is wonky - you when the timer ends, you have to hit the button twice to turn it off. The upper oven is tricky since it has broiler and not much room, the rack sits on the bottom so its hard to get sheet pans out. The lower oven is low to the floor. When buying - open up the oven and actually reach down and imagine lifting a roast out of a hot oven as a guide. The grates do not sit well on the stove, there are small rubber stoppers for heavy grates to prevent it from slipping, but its hard when the grates are cast iron and can slide when moving heavy pans on the stovetop.

I regret purchasing this oven. Since the day I got it, I’ve had nothing but issues. The knobs started peeling early on, making the appliance look cheap and worn out. Even worse, the oven has had trouble turning on, which is completely unacceptable for a major kitchen appliance.
For the price I paid, I expected reliability and quality, but this oven has been nothing but a headache. If you're considering buying this model, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I wish I had!

Beautiful but scratches way too easily

I purchased this in early November so I have used it for just over a month now. It really is a beautiful stove and I feel that it does work well. My only complaint which is a big one is that the top scratches SO easily. I have tried to be so careful and gentle but it seems impossible for it to not scratch. The grates shift around and leave scratches all over. So for only having for a month it does not look like a new stove and I find that very annoying.

Having two ovens is cool. However knobs peeled within a year and had sharp edges. Glowplug had to be replaced less than 4 years in. There is only one burner that can boil water readily. The back burners can keep things warm at most. Griddle stayed black for a week before the finish started to come off

So many limitations

I'm not going in to everything I dislike about this model, but a few things are show stoppers:
1. If power goes out, this cannot be lit with a match; it is regulated by an electronic igniter
2. Can't use the stovetop burners when it is in self-clean until completely cooled down (as I wait to make dinner).
3. The small top oven is the only broiler. It isn't tall enough to put anything other than a cookie sheet plus an inch in the space.
4. When anything is cooked on the bottom rack position (like a casserole) of the top, small oven, it burns on the bottom. I usually reduce the temp and cook longer than the recipe calls for. And nothing more than two inches fits when it's on the top rack because of the broiler element.
5. The large burner is the only one that boils in a decent amount of time (but requires a large diameter pan), the medium one takes a lot longer than any other gas stove I've owned.
6. The burner racks are heavy and if not placed exactly right hit the back and scratch it (the repair person did this).
I purchased this in white because it is one of the few gas stoves available in that color unless I wanted to spend top $. I prefer a dual fuel, double oven with convection like the one I previously had that stopped working.
I am surprised how well the convection feature bakes cookies since I've read other poor reviews about this function.
I tried self cleaning both ovens before my warranty expires to make sure nothing melted like I saw in other reviews. It did get very hot on top and my microwave vent fan unit above also got very hot - wonder if it will melt/crack the plastic parts over time?

Owned for 4 yrs. This has broken twice where the oven won't heat, with each repair costing $300. Also, the control panel often doesnt work correctly. Will never buy a Kitchen Aid again, as the partner microwave was also garbage.

Short life span, can't be fixed.

I guess it could have been worse (but it would have been difficult). The lower main oven stopped working shortly after the factory warranty ended. I replaced the thermostat, control board, ignitor... nothing fixed the problem. Eventually I was told by a repairperson to just throw it out. A 2+ THOUSAND DOLLAR OVEN. Today (4/12), the upper oven stopped working. Can't be repaired (just like the ice maker on my KitchenAid fridge which apparently has bad wiring inside the freezer door - which costs more to replace than the fridge itself). Both are less than 8 years old and both headed for recycling. Never again. I should have known when the first one that was delivered had a door that grinded and wouldn't close correctly. Back in the day KitchenAid meant top of the line. They've MBA/thrifted themselves into junk status.

i wish it was better. i love its features and looks, but the first one delivred had the glass door seal broken and had to be replaced. the second had gas leaks behind the stove connection. still waiting for 3 weeks for the geek squad to fix

I purchased this range in January of 2016. Less than 3 years after my purchase the broiler stopped working and then the upper oven stopped working before we could get the broiler fixed. It was a bad control board which cost us almost $600.00 to replace. Now a year later the broiler isn't working AGAIN! Kitchen Aid isn't interested in standing behind their product and has refused to take any responsibility. Another $500+ repair will put me close to the price of a new range. This is unacceptable! Kitchen Aid products are not what they used to be. BUYER BEWARE!

Do not buy! Does not work during power outage.

Biggest problem with this model is that IT WILL NOT WORK during power outage. You cannot light it with the match. When the power is disconnected, it automatically shuts of gas flow to the burners. Just when need the gas stove to work the most, it fails. I am going to throw away my 3 year old stove and get a different brand.

It looks great, but I bought it to cook food, not as a piece of kitchen art. The griddle will not get hot enough to grill pancakes or to cook a grilled cheese sandwich. I tried to adjust the flame according to the manual and the flame will only go lower and will not get higher.
There are also issues with the alert signal. It only beeps once when the oven comes to temp or when the timer sounds when the food is ready. It is easy not to hear these. I am very disappointed and would not buy this item or anything else from Kitchen Aide again.

Within five years all igniters failed as well as the range igniter. My parents owned their oven for 30 years and never had to make a single repair. Very disappointing for an expensive appliance from a supposedly nice brand. I cry for all my friends who are putting these in their new homes. Just know you can buy the igniters for $20 on that one online store rather than hundreds from the oem.

Falling apart in less than two years

We bought this stove and, considering the very high price, did not expect to have issues so quickly. The chrome on the knobs is de-laminating and Kitchenaid tells us they will charge us about 5% of the whole stove price for just sending us new knob surrounds. Do not trust this appliance or Kitchenaid! I would recommend getting a quality appliance from a more reputable company.
