    Not that good, disappointed

Purchased this range in December 2015. The finish on the top of the oven door is peeling off. This range was not cheap, but the quality is poor. A stainless steel finish should not peel. The aqualift does not lift any spills in the oven. Followed manufacturers directions. Overall I am very disappointed. I bought this range because it is made in America.

    Poorly Made, Many Design Flaws

I am writing this review in hopes of saving you a lot of distress. Please do not buy this range! I purchased this range in February 2017 and it has been a continual source of problems and stress since. It took four deliveries to get an acceptable range on site...this should have been my first clue to send it back and buy a different brand. First three had obvious manufacturing defects, dents, and issues with overheating. The range I kept also has an issue where the top control panel overheats while the oven is in use. I first noticed it during the recommended initial cycle to burn off manufacturing oils. After running the cycle, I could barely touch the control panel to turn the ovens off. As I have small children, I checked the temperature of the control panel with a heat gun and found it to be in excess of 130 degrees, with temperatures above 195 degrees at the top of the OUTSIDE of the oven door (door had not been opened). I immediately called KitchenAid and voiced my concerns. I was told it is fine and within current legal regulations. I reluctantly kept the range but made sure my concerns were on file. Fast forward to Summer 2018 (less than 18 months later): the control panel began malfunctioning, displaying "key disconnected" code. The code could be cleared periodically, though the oven light button and half of the number keys stopped working. In September 2018, the control panel failed completely (meaning the ovens could not be used at all). Presumably the ongoing excessive heat exposure permanently damaged the electronics. KitchenAid agreed to replace my panel as a “Good Will” repair since I had voiced concerns about the heat. It has been over three months and I still do not have a repaired range. The service company has come three times - the first time without obviously necessary pieces. A replacement panel is currently installed so that I can use my oven, but it has a manufacturing defect (chip in the screen) and has begun throwing error codes within two months of installation. Last week the repair service came again with a new control unit, only to discover that KitchenAid had shipped an electric range panel in a box labeled as a gas panel. Final straw: Last night my husband noticed the finish is flaking off the top inside of the oven door. Again, presumably due to the excessive heat escaping the door. I have never cleaned the oven with anything abrasive. Today, a KitchenAid rep, fully apprised of the above difficulties, offered no help, telling me that peeling is cosmetic and only covered for a period of 6 months. I was told that I could pay for a new door panel to fix the peeling. Never again will I purchase anything made by KitchenAid. TL,DR: This range has an issue with excessive heat escape that causes the electronic control panel to fail and also causes the finish to peel. KitchenAid does not stand behind their product when this occurs. STAY AWAY!

    Range breaks easily

Do not buy this KitchenAid range. At less than 3 years old, mine has had 2 major breakdowns: (1) Control panel went out and the oven could not be used, it took a month and $500 to fix it and (2) the gas in the right burner has a short making it difficult to ignite and gas leaks out of it after being used. I am not paying to have it fixed again. I will buy another brand appliance. In addition, all of the knobs have begin peeling off and have become misaligned.

Don't expect more than 7-9 years out of this one

So after 8 years our oven crapped out. It was great when it worked. The cost to repair it was quoted at $1200. I paid $2600 for this unit, and hoped it might last longer. It's gone now, and has been replaced with another range at the cost of $1500. Why spend more when the current ranges only last a short time. It's like toothbrushes. Throw them away. Sad. It's all about the electronics, the circuit boards. Beware.

LOUD. CHEAP. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT BUY

I bought a package of Kitchenaid appliances. While I like the look... DO NOT BUY THEM. This stove is beyond loud. Any time you bake anything, it has a fan that buzzes at a high frequency for anywhere from 30 min to 90 min, effectively killing the vibe of your dinner and making everyone in the house irritable. The fridge (Model #KRFF507HPS) is equally as loud. It has a lower frequency hum that we can hear from any room in the house. It will occasionally stop for a few hours a day, but the rest of the time it sounds like we're running a large AC unit. The ice maker is also shockingly loud. It scares our animals when they're literally 3 rooms over. I'm stunned that there aren't more reviews about the noise on here. Unless I somehow got defective appliances - which I wouldn't know yet because Best Buy's "Geek Squad" is impossible to properly get a hold of and are pros at dodging any questions or accountability - DO NOT BUY. Worst $8000+ that I've ever spent.

$500 repair required before 30th use

KitchenAid KSGB900ESS has a systemic issue with a cooling fan. If you type "F8E0" into Google you will see all the issues. Kitchenaid/Whirlpool only has a 1 year warranty on their $2600 oven. I recommend buying a different brand. My oven broke after very little use. Kitchenaid doesn't seem to want to address this systematic problem other than to schedule a service which will cost you around $500. Kitchenaid needs to offer a recall. They make you fight them to get them to cover anything.

Do not buy this range. I bought it less than 3 years ago and it has already broken twice - (1) the control panel went out and I had to pay ~$500 to get it fixed and (2) the gas in the bottom right burner has a short that causes gas to leak out of it when being used. I am not paying to fix it again. For the high cost of this appliance, I should not have to spend $500 a year to maintain it. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance.
