Not correct one for my KitchenAid mixer ...

This Flex Edge beater is for the Tilt Head KitchenAid 5 quart stand Mixer. It is not the correct one for the Bowl Lift KitchenAid 5 quart stand Mixer. I did find the correct one with some research. The thing about KitchenAid stand mixers, you need the correct implements for the KitchenAid Mixer you have it does make a difference if you have a Tilt Head or Bowl Lift model along with the correct bowl size, these are important facts to have handy when you are looking for implements (extra beaters and etc.) without this information you may not get the correct thing to use for your mixer.

I've had a Kitchen Aid mixer I purchased years ago for my baking frenzies. I rarely used it because it was so difficult to scrap the batter on the side of the bowl while the bowl was in the mixing stand. I saw the mixer paddle with the rubber scrapper that is shaped to scrap the size of the bowl and I thought I'd try it. I LOVE it! It makes mixing dough sooooo easy. Caution: if you're mixing back-to-back batches of dough, after you wash the paddle after batch #3, let it dry overnight. After 3 back-to-back uses and washings, the rubber gets a little soft and doesn't scrap the side of the bowl as well as when the rubber is stiff.

This was my mistake but I figured I might not be alone in this: I didn't realize that this beater was not made to fit my 6 quart bowl. The photo clearly shows a tilt head mixer but for some reason I didn't question whether they were the same or not. They aren't. It looked the same size to me in the store. I'm sure it's nice; I like the coating instead of bare metal, seems easier to clean, and would be better at scraping the sides than my stock model, but this did not work for me.

This makes all the difference in a nice smooth mix. I use it most for things like cakes and waffle/pancake batter. It helps get rid of all the powdery parts you can get clumped to the side of the bowl. it also helps keep the sides clean and enables a better use of the entire set of ingredients. A must have accessory. Just don't go too fast, or you'll have loads of clean-up to do. I started out at 1 and gradually moved it no higher than speed 3. i also find that the white blade coating cleans up faster than the standard metal one.

I've always liked the oscillating motion of the beater in the KitchenAid stand mixer because it incorporates more of the ingredients than the beater(s) in a standard mixer. But the beater that comes with the mixer occasionally misses some things on the side of the bowl, requiring a manual scrape-down. The flexible edge on this beater definitely takes care of most of that problem, although occasionally, it still helps to scrape the bowl down with a spatula.

I just recently had to purchase a new Kitchenaid mixer after my 18 year old one died. I cannot live without one, as I cook and bake a lot, and use my mixer very frequently. This is a simple tool, but extremely helpful as I can put my batter in, turn the mixer on, and don't have to stop it to scrape the bowl. It helps me make less of a mess and be more efficient. In fact, I keep it on the mixer all the time and never use the original beater any more.

I purchased this for my 5qt artisan design mixer and couldn't be happier about the decision. My stand came with the standard beater (metal without silicone edge), and I can't bring myself to use anything other than this new one! Perfect for scraping the bowl, perfect for helping with a smoother mix and perfectly easy to clean with the non-stick coating. I am going to purchase another one (or two) just in case!!!

My husband bought this for me for Christmas and I was so excited because I hate that when it mixes it doesn’t get everything on the sides and I would have to personally scrape it down. But..this doesn’t fit the 6qt bowl of the professional series. It only for the tilt head 5qt. Super bummed because now I can’t use it.

i have a 28 y/o kitchen aid mixer and its still going strong! The thing i love about Kitchen Aid is that no mater how old it is you can add new attachments as they become available! This beater spatula is WONDERFUL! it makes easy work of making sure nothing in the bowl does not get mixed up. the attachment is made if metal, a rare thing nowadays, and the rubber edge is thick and flexible.

Purchased for my “Baker Husband” and it was perfect. He uses it almost daily when making cakes and cupcakes and mashed potatoes and beating eggs. Just an item well used in our family home. And it’s a Kitchen Aid, do I need to say more. Excellent product for the value and very sturdy.

My wife uses a Professional model KitchenAid Mixer which takes a larger beater than the on the sale representative ordered for me. I have researched this item and the larger size is not offered at Best Buy so I had to order another on the correct size from another company. By the way, there are three different sizes of beaters for KitchenAid Mixers.

Like the Pour Shield for the KitchenAid mixer that I bought on line, this item popped up as a handy accessory. However, it is for a smaller sized bowl, not the mixing bowl that came with the mixer. Too bad, as it looks like it'd work very well for cleaning the sides of the bowl. So I will probably end up purchasing the corrected sized smaller bowl for this item.

I bought this at the same time as my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. It works great and I highly recommend it. I think it is so essential that Kitchenaid should include it as one of the standard accessories when you buy the mixer. But, they don't. :( You should still get it, because it makes baking much quicker and you don't need to scrape the sides of the mixing bowl.

This beater works well, the rubber edge scrapes the sides nicely, allowing for a complete mix. The only negative comment is that at medium to high speeds the contents of the bowl will fling out of the top unlike with the standard beater. Perhaps if the rubber edge was angled down slightly to keep the contents in the bowl it would be a bit better.

For years I've used the old beaters, and I was delighted the way my flex edge beater worked. The first time I used my new mixer, I made brownies. This beater is superior to the old ones. Also, the way it scraped the bowl to mix all of the batter was neat. I just wish I bought a Kitchen Aide mixer long before now, so I could use my flex edge beater.

Every year I enjoy making divinity and this is my first year to use my KitchenAid. I was trying to figure out how to get my eggs whipped to stiff peaks and not have to stand at the mixer with a spatula and then I ran across the Flex-Edge Beater. Let me tell you it is the best product around to scrape the bowl as you go. It was wonderful.

The kitchenaid mixed I bought my wife came with an uncoated mixing handle. I bought this because it is powder coated and has the spatula edge. Works as intended just wish it was about 10 bucks less. Also I put 4 for durability instead of 5 because we have only used it a couple times. I will try to post a reply in about 6 months to update that part.

I love the way the paddle scrapes the sides of the bowl. It takes less time to mix up cookie dough, no stopping to scrap down the butter/sugar mix that sticks to the sides. Only drawback, it makes the bowl turn really tight into the base...so I started using the bowl with the handle.
