This slide scanner works well. The problem was the instructions were vague and did not explain well. The icons are a bit cryptic and hard to decipher. Words would have been a better choice.

Good Scanner for Film and Slides.

Good scanner for Film and Slides. Curved film will get stuck when first inserting into guide as curved edge hits exit side of the guide. Have to take holder out of scanner to manually flatten the leading edge. Scans, both B&W and Color are excellent.

I have tried numerous other slide & negative scanners and this one is the best yet! It delivers high resolution images. Easy to feed the negatives and slides through to align perfectly, and the scanning is fast. The settings functions are an added benefit!

    Pretty Good Scanner

This scanner works as advertised. Scans are very quick. The scan resolution won't accommodate significant enlargements, but to archive old slides it's a significant time saver. Lighting and color tone adjustments are helpful. Easy and fast to use.

Not professional quality, but adequate most cases.

Some scans turn out good when you view the .jpg, but others turn out too dark, even when they look great on the screen of the scanner. A bit disappointing. And I've done the brightness and color correcting as well, but still not as good consistently. But it's a $200 scanner, so don't expect professional results. I'd say the results are 75% good enough quality in most cases, and 25% disappointingly dark. A particular problem is when a photo has light shining through a window, it obliterates any detail. I've used this to scan photos of a museum with a lot of stained glass, and in many cases you can't even see the stained glass exists when the light is strong in the window—but I can see the detail and color in the slide.

You have an option to purchase either a 5" or 7" screen but will pay $20 more for the 7". This is ok but when you receive it they do not include an HDMI cable but do with the 5". Kodak simply states that is the way it is. Will cost you another $15 but you have to purchase someway else.
