I like that the bolt doesn't scream "smart lock, fancy stuff inside". I like that it was easy to install, easy to set up and easiest of all to use. I wish I had the ability to open the door at will remotely, incase I need to let someone in with a flip phone. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the kevo lock, and for what I need it to do.

Love the ease of use with this lock. Simple installation. The only thing I would change is to have WIFI compatibility and Bluetooth. It would be nice to unlock or lock from anywhere.

This is a great lock and works wonders with my Samsung Note 4 Edge. However, it doesn't work at all with my girlfriends LG G3. In fact she was locked out of the house the first day because I was at work and her phone wouldn't install the app. If this product worked on more phones it would be a 5 star. The nice thing about this product is that it was easy to install and took maybe 30 minutes to do that and pair up my phone. From the outside the only way you can tell it's a smart lock is by the blue light circle. But no one has mentioned anything when they come over. The inside of the door isn't a bad design either. It's kind of tall, but not overly so. It adds to the door, it doesn't detract. I'm not sure on the battery life yet, but it's been just over a month and it's going strong. The only downside so far (on my phone) is the app ALWAYS is showing in my notification bar. Even when it's turned off. I haven't figured out how to get rid of it.

Installation was smooth a little disappointed that it's not supported with my moto x phone for direct pairing but really only a small amount of android are supported like samsung only but was able to get it on mine by sending an ekey from my wife's samsung phone. It's 1 one of the few smartlocks on the market that are near impossible to hack. it would be nice if they allowed more than 3 e keys but also comes with a fob and more are available I do plan to get the kevo plus as well that will allow remote access but so far that's only available online if it were a bundle option or can purchase at same time I'd certainly give 5 stars. battery life seems pretty good so far and I've been using it a lot When trying to install the kevo app from Google play store it states my device is not compatible and won't install so I downloaded from the internet and side loaded the app and works fine

This lock is great. Looks like a standard lock and craftsmanship is excellent . Fairly easy to install. Wish is came standard with Home WiFi connectivity to lock/unlock remotely. It's nice that I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket, nor do I have to keep the iPhone app running in the background for it to allow me to open the lock. I like the option to be able to send a temporary digital key to someone and no additional cost as well as the affordable purchase of additional digital keys. Another feature I wish this lock had was a proximity sensor option that would unlock the lock automatically as I approached the door. Regardless, I would highly recommend this lock.

I read several reviews before settling on a motor driven lock. I had two primary wants in mind for this purchase: keyless entry and remote control. The Kevo lock satisfies both sufficiently. I like the fact that the appearance remains that of a standard deadbolt to the casual onlooker and retains said functionality. I like the capability to provide electronic keys to iOS and Android devices. I don't like that you have to pay for the electronic keys but it's a small pill to swallow for the convenience. Setup/installation was not much more challenging than any standard deadbolt replacement and the instructions were pretty good. As to the negatives, I'm not particularly happy that the remote control (internet) feature requires an additional $99 purchase but it does work quite well. In addition, the lock (as reported in many reviews) requires that the phone pretty much be facing it to function keyless. This can be inconvenient when approaching with hands full as I keep the phone in my back pocket. Again, a minor inconvenience but it has happened about 25% of the time when I use the keyless feature. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase and would readily recommend it to those in search.

I purchased two of these and, overall, like them. The design is good as is the fit and finish. I like that Kwikset decided to include their "smartkey" technology in these so that you can easily re-key the lock to match other locks or simply change the physical key. As far as the bluetooth, I like that these work with iOS or Android as well as the proprietary bluetooth fob. Functionally, the lock works as expected and I have no qualms recommending it to someone. However, there are a few complaints... 1) The lock takes a few seconds to open and doesn't always recognize my phone (iPhone). This is a minor annoyance, however, and doesn't always happen. 2) Installation was pretty straightforward, but the lock is extremely sensitive to a door that's not properly aligned. Even if your present deadbolt operates with ease and even if you can manually lock/unlock this lock without issue, the motor won't tolerate even minor friction. Installation in one door went fine, but in the other one, I simply couldn't get it to work properly and ended up replacing the entire door (frame and all) as I simply couldn't get it to align properly. 3) Kwikset claims this will "automatically" calibrate so that it won't lock if the fob or other bluetooth device is on the inside of the door (I.E., hanging on a keyhook or sitting on a counter). However, I've noticed that the lock will occasionally unlock when my iPhone is within range inside the house. It has to be fairly close, but from a security perspective, it's a concern nonetheless. 4) Electronic keys cost $1.99 each. That's a bit annoying as the lock includes only 1 fob and 2 electronic keys. Once purchased, they're permanent, but given the cost of the lock, they should include additional electronic keys. Finally, a nice feature would be adding wifi to the lock in addition to bluetooth so it can be operated and/or checked remotely. Personally, I'd be willing to sacrifice battery life for that feature. Overall, this is a good lock for someone looking at home automation or just the ease or "coolness" factor.

I did a lot of online reviewing, just as always...and like you are doing now. I have a home automation hub and looked at what the hubs offer...then found Kevo. I looked at Schlage, August and other options. It's all came down to: 1. Ease of allowing access to others (key code, e-key, etc) 2. Aesthetics of the device (August is HUGE!) 3. Locking/ unlocking ability remotely (Kevo Plus is a big plus) 4. Ease of locking/ unlocking (this one is a simple touch on the outside cover with the key fob or Bluetooth device close enough) The search was on and I learned a lot that I liked and disliked about this and the others. I liked the size of Kevo after the install. The August was a HUGE add-on on the existing deadbolt assembly. The Schlage all had keypads on the outside and some fancy design to choose from. The Kevo...looked just like my existing Kwikset deadbolt on the outside and no keypad to add additional users or have to delete them later. With the Kevo I can send unlimited e-keys to my wife, my tablet, any future maintenance workers, etc... I can also rescind the keys just as quickly as I send them, or even limit access times. I can also get alerts when family members lock or unlock the door, so I know when the kids make it safely (I have security cameras too). I added the Kevo Plus device which was about half the price I paid for the lock, but easily connects to your router and sets up in minutes. Once installed, you can lock/ unlock the door anywhere you have Internet access. Never worry halfway to work again, "Did I lock the door?" Now, what I dislike: Installation was not as clear and easy as it seems. There was a programming portion after the lock is installed to learn left/ right swing doors. The lock grinds and sounds defective, but it's just learning. Just disliked this portion slightly. The biggest issue I have is...you never realize how many times you actually touch the door lock when the door is open. What I mean is that the "easy to lock by a simple touch" becomes annoying when you are walking outside, grabbing the door handle to close it behind you and you accidentally bumped against the lock housing, causing it to lock before you close the door. Minor issue, but I lock it when it is open almost as much as I do when it is closed. Ha! Overall a huge recommend. I like the looks, the upgrade ability, the ease of use and secure feeling of being able to lock the door from literally anywhere.

I'm very happy with the Kevo lock. Easy to install and configure. I also like the ability to integrate with DoorBird. On the downside, if you accidentally touch the lock, it will follow protocol and lock/unlock, even if unintended. It's doing what it's supposed to do, but it can be annoying. Especially when you have kids who aren't as careful about the lock. Certainly not the lock's fault.

This lock is very cool. It does have a handle that sticks however, which is why I am not rating it 5 stars. It lets me use a simple touch to open the door with my bluetooth enabled device nearby which is great. It's one less key that I have to use. I currently have 5 keys for my home for security purposes, but by the time, I get my front door, all I have to do is tap, watch the lights go and "Voila" it's opened! Down to 4 keys and pretty happy with the purchase.

After researching different products I decided to go with this one. It was very easy to install. My only negative is that sometimes it doesn't work (doesn't unlock or read that my phone is in range) the first time or first couple of times the lock is touched. But I do like the product and would recommend.

I bought the 1st gen Kevo knowing that I would be missing out on a few features found in the second gen (metal vs. plastic cover inside, and auto-locking). This didn't bother me at all. I had a very easy time installing the lock. I followed the printed directions, and I had no issues. The lock has been working great now for several weeks with only one issue. After a week of use, the LED ring on the outside lock face stopped lighting up. The lock still functioned normally, but I lost the status feedback of the lights. I called up support and their only solution was that I maybe tightened the bolts too much. I loosened the bolts, but the problem persisted. I then removed the battery pack (a solution that tech support said shouldn't be a fix), and reinstalled after 30 seconds. Immediately after that the LED ring started working again, and has been going strong for several weeks now. Aside from that little glitch, I love the lock. Definitely a must if you are tired of fumbling with keys, while trying to carry groceries, and wrangle small children.

I toiled with the decision of whether to purchase a smart lock for some time. After a LOT of research, I settled on the Kevo, & I've been quite pleased with my decision. Installation was a breeze, plus you're able to re-key the lock up in a snap (if you want to). The unlock feature works consistently & reliably, but your phone needs to be pretty close to the door. Sometimes I accidentally lock the door if I brush by the lock on my way out. The Kevo+ is a game changer & worth every penny. The ability to remotely lock/unlock the door & see a history is great. Unlimited digital keys to hand out (& remotely revoke) is huge if you have a rental or Airbnb. It's also nice that Kevo integrates with Nest, although not as well as I would like. The separate app is a little clunky & annoying. All in all, this is a great product with tremendous convenience. It lacks only a few details or polishes that would make it 5 stars.

The idea of automating our front door lock in a way that wouldn't look like we obviously had a tech solution on our door was incredibly appealing to us. The lock itself is not overly difficult to install in a pre-existing location. The lock functions pretty well, there are times that I find the interior lock knob to feel very cheap, locking the door sometimes feels like the knob will break off in your hand. We've had this installed for about two months now and had to replace the factory batteries once, which was not bad considering they have since been no issue at all. Through all that the lock itself is really a good product. The problem that Kevo really has is their App. First, it's a battery killer. Second, it doesn't always connect to the lock, and it can cause some great frustration when your trying to carry stuff in the house. All in all its a nice addition to our house, and while it's not the most perfect product it's still good to have.

This installed relatively easily - and so far the batteries have held out pretty well. This is great for our family as everyone has a smart phone that they can leave in their pocket and still open the door. The biggest drawbacks are: 1. It took probably 7-8 seconds to unlock or lock the door (while not a long time it sure feels like a delay) 2. It is not compatible with Android (one of my sons has a Samsung - yep he's the black sheep among the rest of us iPhone users). So we had to buy him an electronic key - which he promptly lost...He's never lost his phone..

Helps get rid of all those keys in your pocket/purse! It was easy to set up too. Only thing I would change is the app. If I use the app instead of the single Bluetooth key included, you always have to log in. If they went to a faster log in (I.e a pattern or pin) it would be much better...

If it had just a tad more torque or speed, Id absolutely give it five stars. Installation was a breeze, and they did not scrimp on material quality or finish. I love the "across the room" LED letting you know if the deadbolt is in the locked or unlocked position as youre closing up for the night. Its about as cool as it reads, having your phone nearby is enough to give you access. Another con- you have to buy "keys" for your phone after your first two. SO a husband and wife gets one, but you have to pay for every other key after. For the money I paid for this item, I would have expected 4-6 keys before Im buying more. But you can set permissions for the keys, make them limited time of day use, etc.
