I love this external. Sleek design with good capacity and excellent speeds via USB 3.0. A bit pricier than externals of the same capacity but you get what you pay for and I would gladly purchase again. Requires a little initial configuring to set aside space for transfers between different operating systems and a few other details but relatively straight forward. Plug and play after the initial setup. Runs absolutely silent. Does not require external power source. Definitely a solid choice if you don't mind spending a bit more.

I was immediately drawn to the design of the drive when I saw it in the store. After looking at a variety of drives I decided to spring for it and I definitely am not disappointed. On top of the fantastic build quality the drive is extremely easy to setup with Lacie's set up program. I have my Macbook bootcamped so I was able to configure the drive to work with both operating systems in a snap. Bottom line is I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new external!

Great for Mac. I store my entire (huge) iTunes library of 75,000 songs on it. Very quiet and fast. Liked it so much, I bought s second one as a backup to the first. It also looks really cool to match the MAC design. The USB 3 option is extremely fast when searching, reading or writing. I highly advise getting this one as it's much more reliable than a discount drive like WD or Seagate. This LaCie is very portable, if need be. Last it is completely non-intrusive to you computer as so many drives are, this stays way from all system programs unless instructed.

My old external hard drive was a LaCie Porche 250GB. It lasted almost 10 years before starting to act up. So I went with another LaCie as a replacement. I have an iMac. This hard drive was very easy to set up. I partitioned it and use a 700GB section for Time Machine; the other 300GB for backing up files and folders that I need easy access to. I store thousands of large images, but not much music, videos or games, so I think this will have plenty of space for my needs. It's small, and looks nice sitting on the base of my iMac. I've been using it for just over a month with no issues.

I transfer files from Mac to Windows and vice versa. I am constantly using it and it still runs fantastically! The only thing is the price, it's a little high, but you are paying for the quality.

It's a LaCie USB 3.0 hard drive. It's fast. It's small. It's quiet. And it is solid aluminum. Aesthetic look is great match to an imac !

I always been cheap and never saw the point on backing up my things...glad I ended up pushing myself to buy this external drive. I use half of it to back things from my MacBook and the other half to edit videos. It is a great investment since some laptops need the extra memory space as well as you need to backup your things.

I love the slim line and the silver, scratch resistant cover. It did get knocked around a little bit in my vest, but overall has held up very well. Love the amount of storage!! I use it to download photographs as my 2nd back up and have found it to be quite quick at retreaving and processing to my HP Folio...My Folio doesn't have much internal memory, so I find myself working off my EHD! Love it!

I bought this external drive to store large photo files so I dont bog down my laptops hard drive. I teach photography and sometimes a computer is needed in the field. This drive as well as all LaCie drives sets up easy and just works. They do make the Rugged model which has a rubber cover over it for field use but its $70.00 more. I just sewed together a piece of neoprene with some velcro ($2.00) and it basically does the same thing as the cover on the rugged. Keep in mind... other brands may be less in price for the same amount of storage, but you get what you pay for. Do you really want to risk your files ?

This is a great hard drive, it is compact, elegant with the aluminum casing, the usb 3.0 makes it very fast to transfer files from more than 1 GB, etc

It does what I wanted it to do. Sleek design and looks great. Side note, the edges are really sharp which isn't a huge deal but they kind of scratch if you aren't careful with it.

External drive as a very nice look and is very small to carry around. Installation was done quickly and was very easy to do. In less than 2 hours, I completed a back-up of all my pictures and videos. I am not worry about the quality since I have 2 LaCie external hard drive that I have using for more than 8 years. Very pleased with my purchase and the great price at BestBuy.

this is a handy little portable drive, and a great alternative if you are looking for something with a sleek metallic appeal.

This piece of equipment is very portable and takes up very little room on the desk. It's small and packs a storage punch with 1T of space. Installation was a snap. Just plug it in and back it up. When left alone for a while it seems to "go to sleep" or disconnect itself. This is a bit alarming but seems to be a feature.

This is a great external drive. The setup is extremely easy, for Mac or PC, even if you're a beginner to external drives... I definitely recommend this to everyone in need of extra storage capacity, matched with the performance of the drive, you won't beat it at this price...

First I want to say this drive is gorgeous and sleek. This drive is USB 3.0 also, making it very quick. I use it for TimeMachine backup which are very quick. Highly recommend.

This a well built design and durable. I have had zero issue thus far.

I needed to transfer two old computers information onto an external hard drive before my computer crashed. I transferred more than 8,000 songs and have only used 5% of the capacity of the drive. The transfer was much faster than the old external hard drive that I had owned. This hard drive has a turbo mode which is really great at transferring recently changed and new documents from your computer to the hard drive. The software makes it simple to use, fast and convenient.
