I bought this over 5 months ago because I wanted more storage to backup all my files from my MacBook M4 Max. Since Samsung T7 isn’t compatible with my laptop, it seemed like it was the best deal at the time. I found out that wasn’t the case. Transferring files and speed are slow. Last month, this device was ejecting itself automatically. It didn’t get better it just got worse. Now my computer can’t detect it when I plug it in. I found out the enclosure for this device was the issue. I had to take it apart, buy an adapter for my computer to detect it which it did-thankfully, and now I have to buy a new external hard drive to backup all my files again. Don’t get this device. It is affordable and for that reason it will only cost you more than you think.

Solid but not the cheapest USB-C equipped platter-based HDD. Casing is great if you need protection and portability. Speed is as expected for an HDD over USB-C.

When I exceeded the memory of my computer I needed a lot of storage in a hurry. This hard drive worked great.

This LaCie external hard drive was easily recognized by my Windows computer. In addition, I have performed backups on it with ease and speed. I have used other external hard drives that have been more difficult to use but not this one. I wholeheartedly recommend it for backups and storage.

I have purchased several LaCie Portable Hard Drives for storing my large video files I create for teaching online. They work great with my Mac, and allow me to have more available memory on my laptop, as well as my desktop. This larger, 5TB LaCie will take care of my storage needs for a long time!

I have bought my April 2023 to use exclusively on my Mac and never had any problems. I read some of the reviews complaining that the SSD didn’t work. Most likely due to not formatting. An external hard drive must be formatted for use with your Mac, especially if it was previously formatted for a Windows computer, as it may not be natively compatible with macOS.

This is an amazing product. I am a host of a podcast channel follow me DEN TALK PODCAST. I use to use another product but it took so slow to load. This was easy to use and super fast! I would definitely recommend it to others.
