Unfortunately, I am returning for exchange this because it shows up as defective on my Mac Disc Utility. Although it might be a glitch on my part, I dont want to take the chance. I also think it would benefit from a strap on the case cover to hold the cable. O

Great but not perfect. They pitch this hard drive like its invincible or something but the truth is, its the C-Port and cable that you have to worry about. If those were as "rugged" as the hard drive looks then I'd give it 5 stars.

Socket of the product is very bad if wire just moves I have to reconnect again. Eventually I give up and don’t have time to go over and over to access the files. The worst hard I ever have. We asked for refund

This drive did not meet my expectations. The drive was slow and I immediately returned it. SSD drives are the way to go if you are really concerned about speed.

BB web page for this item, under Overview/What'sIncluded says "USB-C to USB-A cable". Nope just one cable, USB-C to USB-C.
Very disappointing. can't use this fight now til I buy more cables.

Problems right from the start. Unpacked, plugged in, clicked "Start Here" for Windows, Toolkit installed and then the drive was never seen again in Windows. Shutdown computer, restarted, nope... no drive. Tried several restarts and using different USB ports and cables. Nope. DOA. Going right in the box. This was my first and will be my last Lacie product. How can a company sell a product that fails immediately? Statistically, if it happened to one person who was a first time Lacie customer, then mathematically it has to be happening to a lot of users. That statistic is a huge flag for quality or product quality control. I say all of this from the perspective of an IT person with many years of experience.

I've used Lacie Rugged External Hard Drives before and never had a problem. This one, however, keeps trying to eject whenever the computer goes to sleep. Their website says this is a problem with some of them. They offer a firmware update that they say will solve the problem, but it failed to install. I can't afford to have the drive eject when I'm in the middle of editing a big project on it, so unfortunately I had to transfer the files to another EHD. I'll probably avoid these in the future until I know the problem has been fixed.

It’s great for literally storing stuff. But don’t waste your time if you need a working drive. Transfer speeds are really slow. Took around 35 minutes to transfer around 90gb. But it’s a solid drive for just storage. Just sooooo sloooooowww.

I’ve had this for 3 months and the cord doesn’t stay in the hard drive so that slows my uploads and downloads down. This is my third hard drive and I got it as my scan disk were filling to fast. I prefer my scan disk hard drive it was faster and more stable. I will definitely be purchasing another but bigger scan disk over this one.

I bought this LaCie drive because they are very popular and many of my friends have them. I’m a sports videographer and became interested in purchasing my own to backup all of my video files. It constantly disconnects itself and is completely unreliable. It’s incredibly frustrating to be editing and then have the drive disconnect randomly for no reason at all. Such a waste of money.
