Very happy with this as my Time Machine backup. I set it up with 4TB dedicated to my backup for my 2TB MacbookPro. 1 TB is free to use however I want now.

This hard drive was purchased for the portability as well as the ruggedness. I also like the fact that it has a USB-C connection so I don’t need an adapter for my Mac. So far this drive has worked well.

Seems to work fine and quick enough, toolkit makes it even easier to use probably at cost of privacy but wtvr. Idk why best buy does this with packaging like actual electronics that needs a lil buffer so doesnt slide around. All 3 different hdd devices purchased frome bestbuy always come the same yet other stuff that doesnt need it gets packaged better...no problems yet and this one looks tough but worth mentioning.

Dependable and durable hard drive. LaCie is a trusted brand, and one that we use for business. The price is reasonable, and the size of this drive can hold a lot of data. When storing this much data, it's necessary to have confidence that it will not fail. This drive definitely provides that.

Best external drive I have bought. It is expensive but has a lot of memory and is so easy to use. I find it more user friendly than the other external drives I have purchased in the past. I put all of my photos on it and to transfer from and to my laptop is so easy. Highly recommend.

Good USB Drive. As far as rugged goes, it's got a silicon bumper around it. Fast speeds. Maybe a bit more expensive.

A+ hard drive for the price. Not the best thing ever but for price per terabyte this can't really be beat plus it has rubber protection.

Durable for travel and backing up photos. It was a little bigger than I anticipated but still is good.

Awesome speeds and optimal storage I love it. I use it for music production in ABELTON. It works perfectly for what I need to do. I can have several tracks recording at the same time with zero CPU overloads.

I've used and still have otherLlaCie rugged hard drives. I bought this to use with macOS's TimeMachine and it worked seamlessly out of the box. Then I realized I could reformat it to work even better with my setup and, as near as I can tell, it works just as well after I partitioned it: ~4T for Time machine and ~1T for other operations. Great device!

The LaCie portable external hard drive is the perfect size. It can be used on a Mac or Windows machines. With 5T storage there’s lots of room for lots of data or photos.

I've used many of these. They travel well and are good and sturdy. Since it uses the USB-C type, the drive comes with 2 cables, one with USBC on both sides, and one that has a USBC to USB3 so it will work in most any computer from the last 10 years.

If you purchased a 2022 MACBook Pro and need to back it up save yourself the time and headache and just buy this for your Time Machine needs. I tried using my old drive with USB A with an adapter that had a USB C output for my MAC. Time Machine didn't like this no matter what I tried (doubling space on my drive, ensuring it was APFS formatted, etc). I finally read that the type of adapter I was using may have been the issue but instead of buying another type of adapter I just bought this drive. I formatted it once I bought it and Time Machine went to work on it no problem. Great drive, fast backup. Atlantic Store Best Buy staff were very helpful with questions and fast/easy checkout.

Great little hard drive. Well, not small by any sense really, but it works, includes everything you'll need to plug it into and modern computer you come across! I use this for backups, and I don't think anything else inspires the same confidence Lacie does to throw a bunch of files on her, and then throw it in a bag or into storage.

I love these hard drives especially for content backups. I film a lot of content for people and I have to store edits on the run. These are amazing for that and also read and write pretty quick. For the price, these are great budget drives.
