If you purchased a 2022 MACBook Pro and need to back it up save yourself the time and headache and just buy this for your Time Machine needs. I tried using my old drive with USB A with an adapter that had a USB C output for my MAC. Time Machine didn't like this no matter what I tried (doubling space on my drive, ensuring it was APFS formatted, etc). I finally read that the type of adapter I was using may have been the issue but instead of buying another type of adapter I just bought this drive. I formatted it once I bought it and Time Machine went to work on it no problem. Great drive, fast backup. Atlantic Store Best Buy staff were very helpful with questions and fast/easy checkout.

Truly great hard drive, it has plenty of space, and it is well protected against any trouble! It is not big, and can easily find its space in a bag or a backpack. The rubber around the hard drive is really good, and I believe it will protect from different impacts! Also, this orange color is funny, I like it too!

A+ hard drive for the price. Not the best thing ever but for price per terabyte this can't really be beat plus it has rubber protection.

I've used and still have otherLlaCie rugged hard drives. I bought this to use with macOS's TimeMachine and it worked seamlessly out of the box. Then I realized I could reformat it to work even better with my setup and, as near as I can tell, it works just as well after I partitioned it: ~4T for Time machine and ~1T for other operations. Great device!

Durable for travel and backing up photos. It was a little bigger than I anticipated but still is good.

Reliable hard drive, very tough build. Love that you can just plug it in to your Mac and it works immediately. Pretty fast for an HDD and love that it’s portable. As a videographer/editor, this product is awesome, highly recommend.

I love these hard drives especially for content backups. I film a lot of content for people and I have to store edits on the run. These are amazing for that and also read and write pretty quick. For the price, these are great budget drives.

As a creative professional who's always on the go, I needed a tough external hard drive. It's perfect for my clumsiness and I've already dropped them several times during my travels. The 5TB capacity is amazing for storing all my huge RED videos, and design files. Plus, the USB-C connection with USB 3.0 adapter makes it easy to transfer files between all my devices. It even works with both Mac and PC! Overall, a great choice for anyone who needs a durable and spacious external hard drive.

Excellent. To be the same size as other external drives with larger storage capacity and Mac ready to use . Others i have purchased always needed partitioning or something in order to make id Mac ready. and i like the added rubber cover to help protect it from accidental damage. Well Done.

I love these hard drives. This is the second one I’ve bought and they are great. Fast transfers and very tough. I use them out in mine sites all over the country I all types of weather and have never had a problem with them. Highly recommend.

Love this external. I run My entire computer system On these portable externals. They are great for on the go and love that it has a 5T option.

I've owned this model drive for years and just bought three in 5TB sizes for my photography work. I've found them reliable and certainly durable. However, they are a bit slow so I would not recommend them for video. However, for photos these drives are just fine and I've never had one break on me before. The read/write speeds on these drives is roughly 120/110MB/s. For comparison's sake, the read/write speed for my MacBook's internal drive is 6,000+/4,000+, a huge difference. FWIW, I'm running a 2023 MacBook Pro with the M3Pro chip, 18GB of ram and Thunderbolt 4 ports. Finally, I had a world of trouble with the MacOS randomly disconnecting the drives until I reformatted them as MacOS Journaled. Since then, I've had no issues at all.

No issues yet! The machine does rattle and make some noise as it gets hotter. I've used about 1/5 of the storage and it still runs smoothly. Highly reliable.

LaCie products are always reliable and durable. This particular drive is great for both stacking and on-the-go job needs. Highly recommended!

Easy to use, I partitioned into two sections one for storage and one for Time Capsule. Works great no issues

High quality hard drive. Still haven't filled it up all the way, and I do video production for a living. Best way to store your footage and back ups. Sturdy and haven't had any issues yet. Will be using these drives forever.

Best hard disk, recommended ,I work as a DJ, and this album is super fast.
