Works great. Just what my Mac needed. Fast and easy to use

This is the second Lacie Rugged Hard Drive I’ve owned, and unfortunately, both have had the same critical flaw: the USB-C port becomes loose over time, making it nearly impossible to maintain a stable connection. For a product marketed as rugged, you’d expect a more durable and securely mounted port — especially when USB-C is supposed to be the standard for fast and reliable data transfer. I handle my equipment with care, so it’s frustrating that such a vital component would fail with light to moderate use. If you’re relying on this drive for field work or secure backups, be cautious. This is not the level of durability I expect from a “rugged” drive.

Very sturdy, easy to use and great if you are running around on a video shoot or need to ship to a client.

Good backup drive. USB C is a nice touch for future proofing.

So far this USB drive has been working very well. I use it to back up my iMac for RAW photos that I process in Lightroom. The 3.1 USB link is quite fast. A regular cable is included if you don't have that option. I don't plan on using it in the field but I do like the protective cover and the "can't lose it" color.

This is the third LaCie external drive I have purchased….I really like this brand. I bought one for myself and two of my sons. When my youngest son goes to college, I’ll be buying him one as well!!

Hard drive will eject itself after a while. Can be a nuisance when trying to transfer large files.

Bulky, but LaCies are always extremely dependable and pretty much indestructible.
