I love my chromebook. It’s just what I needed. A lightweight laptop/tablet that’s inexpensive and starts up real fast. Also the battery is awesome! It lasts about 10 hours. I’d definitely recommend and buy again.

Poor WiFi and Broken Key

I purchased this for my daughter to use for online school back on March 24th. She is on the other side of our ~1500 sq ft house and she had trouble picking up a WiFi signal on the laptop requiring me to get an extender (which is frustrating given that none of our other devices have had any issues). The extender worked and she was able to get a solid signal and connect to do her online schooling.
Then this morning, she came out holding the volume down button. My wife and I both tried to fix it, but the one side would not stay in place and would constantly lift back up. When I inspected it further, the top right piece was broken and the key would continue to lift up and out of place.
The computer has been mostly good (ample USB-C ports and battery life seems to be decent to good), but I cannot excuse the issues with the WiFi range and the build quality on the keyboard seems to be lackluster.

Really disappointed with this purchase and returned it. This was an "open box excellent" which stated it should have been in new condition but it had many scratches. Not the nice gift I thought I was getting to give my daughter. Also, it had major issues connecting to wifi and no other device I own has that issue. I called Best Buy support to remedy this and got some direction, but it didn't help at all. Chromebooks function via wifi and having an issue with its main method of operation was really bad. Maybe the device new works well, but this was bad all around.

The Lenovo C340 is a really good first Chromebook for most types of use. Telework, education, a second computer, etc. The touch screen is bright and clear. It wakes up within a second and boots within seconds even when completely powered down. Most every Android app runs well on the Celeron N4000 with 4gb of RAM. I use cloud storage so the 32GB eMMc storage was fine. Most of the time I telework by accessing a remote desktop in my office or a virtual desktop at my data centers. I have 300mbs Internet in my home and the internal Wifi adapter nearly achieves all of that performing a Speedtest. The weight is perfect at just over 2 1/2 pounds. I have tested many Chromebooks and high end Laptops. When you go up in price for the ultra nice features the higher Chromebook prices compare similarly to Windows 10 laptops and MacBook Airs. It is difficult to pick a Chromebook over a Windows 10 or Mac OS device when the price is the same. That brings us back to the Lenovo C340. Often available around $300, it is an excellent starter Chromebook when you may not ever need another. Chromebooks are best used for Internet, video streaming, normal office suite software and connects each year more seamlessly with the Google ecosystem. My phone, messaging, email, apps, laptop, browser bookmarks all follow me on any device I log into. I was not disappointed in any way. Chromebooks are snappy fast and easy to use for device management. Lastly, the fit and finish on the C340 model is stellar. Aluminum for strength and a glossy screen with well above average clarity and contrast. The C340 does not remind me of a cheap laptop at all. It may be on the smaller side for some owners but I see this as a great starter laptop or a second laptop if someone already has a desktop computer or higher end laptop and needs a lightweight one with enormous battery life as a backup. Yes, the battery life is impressive. I charge it up on the weekend in a couple of hours and it lasts me all week of off and on use. By Friday, my battery is seldom below 40 percent when I am ready to charge it again. It doesn't seem to drain when sleeping like older Intel processors did. It still blows my mind when I wake the device up on a Tuesday and it says 77 percent and 16 hours to go. Obviously battery life depends on use but it is impressive when purchasing I was hoping for 10 to 12 hours of dedicated use and see more than 10 hours to go still after a couple days of use. As you can see, I was very pleased with this purchase. My last Chromebook was a $600 HP 2n1 I got on a Christmas sale for $400. It was flawless and was configured with an Intel I5, 8gb of RAM and 64GB of storage and an even higher resolution screen. I gave the HP to my son who is using it as his main computer. The Lenovo C340 is a 11 inch version of the HP. Nice quality all around in a slightly smaller package and a good price even when not on sale.

I am attending an online course that uses chrome, google docs, google drive and googles suite of apps similar to Microsoft office. Since everything is cloud based I did not need large storage space. Overall performance is good for my needs and efficient. This is a easy to use product once you get used to the shortcuts and gestures. I am used to using Apple products and mac so it was a bit of a transition. I even purchased my mother a different 2 in 1 model chrome book, and she is not very tech savvy but she can use it and operate it efficiently.
The touch screen is a great feature when reading books and pdfs, and the keyboard and trackpad work great too. No complaints I feel definitely got my money’s worth. If you need something with larger storage space and programs not apps (this is more like a tablet with keyboard than a computer) you should search for another option.

nice screen, quick too, although the MT3173c chip version is faster. the celeron has 2 cores, the MT3173c is a quad core.
the lenovo c340-11 has a problem with screen rotation and going into tablet mode where the keyboard stays active, the touchpad stays active, and the screen does not rotate. same problem occurred on two different units tested side-by-side. amazing this obvious bug slipped past development and testing, especially when comments on the lenovo website clearly indicate screen rotation is a long-ongoing problem with lenovo chromebooks.
will a chromebook replace a tablet? it is difficult to use a chromebook as a tablet replacement. chromebooks weigh twice as much as tablets, and a chromebook is not even up to the task of putting a link on the desktop.
excellent starter computer: definitely get one of these when you
- do not need a computer to do any more than read email, use web apps, and visit websites.
- want to put it by the couch to play media from the web to chromecast.
- do not need a tablet replacement.
- want a secure interface to the web.
- want to give your kids a computer they will soon outgrow.
- want to challenge your kids to figure out how to do things a real computer can do.
- want your kids to be dependent on data cloud services, companies and their web apps.
- do not want your kids to learn programming.
excellent machine, for these purposes.

I have been looking for a Chromebook for a while now. Google's flagship options are out of my price range - even the new Pixelbook Go at $650.00. This Lenovo Chromebook fit all of my criteria - touchscreen with keyboard, great price, good battery life, and ease of use. It's very simple to adjust brightness, volume, and switch between apps. I don't need Ultra HD screen resolution or tons of storage. My usage is primarily web surfing/shopping, listening to music, e-mail checking, and watching YouTube videos. I especially like that I can unlock this with my Lenovo Moto G7 phone and sync them - apps, search history, photos, etc. My only minor criticism is the fact that certain apps don't work on this - Bank of America, and my Fantasy Football apps display very small and centered on the screen.

Was in the market for an 11.6 inch Chromebook for travel purposes and found this was available online. I don't want to carry a bigger laptop so this fits my needs perfectly, combined with its 2-in-1 design. I'm not working in any industry that demands a powerful laptop so this is acceptable. I just wish that Chromebooks had more hard drive space and more power so I wouldn't need an SD card or flash to watch movies, but for travel, this is great. Definitely consider this for your next purchase.

With so much transitioning to cloud-based services, specifically Google's, this machine has thus far met all my needs at a fraction of the cost of a full laptop. The interface is simple, intuitive and if you're accustomed to working in Google's apps, you will have no problems with this machine. One pleasant surprise: It had more than 70% battery charge when I opened it, so literally once I logged in with my Google credentials, I was working in less than 15 minutes from the time I opened the box. That translated to quick work that literally paid for the machine within two hours! Can't beat it for simplicity, nimbleness and ease of setup/use.
That said, it's a Chromebook. It has limitations that someone expecting a full laptop experience will see as shortcomings. If you know what you're buying and the capabilities the machine offers, this is a nice little Chromebook!

I have used these computers for as long as I can remember - they last forever, have solid battery lives, and this one is a touch-screen - allowing it to be held and used similarly to an iPad; which is an improvement over the traditional bulky laptop that just closes shut. ChromeBooks in general are usually pretty light in weight, thus is by far the lightest “laptop” I have owned. I hesitate to truly consider it a laptop though, as it lacks. CD drive, maybe I’m just getting too old... Either way, this is a great deal for those who use their computers maunly for personal use at home or browsing the Internet. If you need to take it to and from work, would also work great.

My daughter wanted a laptop for school and everything in between. I was hesitant about the chrome book, simply because I had never used one. She loves it! She’s able to complete all of her assignments using the chrome book. It’s fast enough, has enough space, easy to setup and easy to use. Love the touchscreen too! This was a great purchase. Couldn’t beat the sale price at Christmas. Saved lots of $$.

Now, I’m no tech expert! I’m sure there’s reviews that tell you all the specs and how image quality... blah blah blah!
I’m here to tell you that this tablet/laptop works well. It’s so easy to figure out how to use it, download apps, record and watch videos. So easy to use that my 8 year old constantly shows me new ways to: open files, share, join conferences. You want something easy to use, looks good and sounds good. Buy this.
I like that it can be used as a tablet, as well as a laptop. All of my kids use it for homework and now homeschool. I bought this when the schools closed and I had no clue how to make sure my kids stood on task as they transitioned to online learning. My Daughter, said this was what they used at school, so I bought it and I can see why the schools opted to go with them. Lightweight, easy to use, durable. We watch videos and have no issues with the quality of the video and audio. I’m buying two more, so each of my children can have their own.

Needed a laptop for me 3rd grade son given the learning from home directive. This has got the job done. Does everything he needs to do and has the added perk of being touchscreen.
Had initial issues connecting to WiFi and setting the computer up but computer seems to have corrected itself (possible system update?).
This was a good buy for us as this computer should last him through middle school at least. Added perk of minimal virus exposure on chrome OS.

Brought this chromebook for my 9 year old to complete her school work as I am also working from home and could not share mine. This is a good chromebook for her. She has been able to download all the apps she has needed to complete her work as well as access all the sites she has needed. After the initial log on, she was able to do everything else herself and so far (we had it for 3 weeks) we haven't had any issue with it. We bought this with the intent that she would be using this through middle school, which is another 4 years. We also purchased, through amazon, a soft case for transporting in her backpack when she travels and goes to and from school, a hard case to protect the outer part of the chromebook and a wireless mouse.

My 5 year old needed one for online school and was familiar with chromebooks from her classroom so we got this too. We reached touch screen and good ratings.
So far it has held up nicely after 3 mo daily use. I personally prefer real computers (more memory, not so app based, more like what in used to) but it was a seamless transition to online school for her avd that is what matters. She finds her programs easily. She can watch things on PBS Kids happily and can log into school apps and learn. She loves it and hasn't broken out yet so I give it 5 stars!
