Was disappointed with my toshiba and the customer services so I decided against going with that brand this time around. Researched a lot and this computer fit my needs. Its fast and can run the graphics programs I need with no noticeable lag time. I did take note of the smaller shift key. It has tripped me up a few times but it really hasn't been a big issue and definitely not a deal breaker for me.

With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

It doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of others, but we didn't need those. Run fast enough and it's got a very nice screen. I guess meaning that it's very clear and the right resolutions make it very readable. Got it at a great price!

Solid all around computer for non-gamer

I am a medical scientist/researcher and my statistics programs run quickly. I have not had any crashes. I do not game and cannot comment to how it would perform under gaming use. Overall, I would recommend this computer to other PhD researchers.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned my first machine after 2 days, and several hours with the Lenovo help desk. Only MS office and antivirus on the machine, and it chokes. When you open Task Manager, it shows 99% disc usage. Returned it to best buy with no issue, only to get the 2nd one home with the same issue. Lenovo help desk, couldn't get it working. We attempted a System Restore ( with the Lenovo help desk remote access) and it wouldn't event complete the System restore. Lenovo recommended that i take it back and possibly try another model. Hopefully the whole batch of these aren't bad. I've been using IBM/ LENOVO products for YEARS with no issue. Typically a work-horse machine. I have my 3 year old Lenovo, with an I5 processor that still runs like a champ. This is disappointing for Lenovo.

I wanted a basic laptop to do documents and browsing and it does that very well. Enough memory to handle multiple apps open simultaneously and enough hard drive space for storage for a good while.

I don't know a lot about computers but my brother who does said it was a great deal for the price and even the sales guy was shocked it was such a good computer for that price. So far we are happy with it.

Extremely fast responsive laptop. I could not have asked for more. As far as games.....I am not a big gamer so I could not give an opinion, however I'm pretty sure there are different types of laptops for that type of use. This would be perfect for college, work or home.
