IT SUCKS..SUPER SLOW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I am no longer purchasing from Lenovo. I've had two bad experiences with their products not matching their descriptions. This laptop runs slow and I only had two tabs open. It literally takes 15 seconds or longer to load things. I would not reccomend this laptop to anyone that's into YouTube, movies, or editing videos. This laptop is not beneficial for anything if it cannot multitask properly which it cannot. Not only that the Windows 10 S mode sucks as it does not let you download apps that are not Microsoft approved. I could not even download Google Chrome. I could not download my software for my Logitech webcam because this webcam SUCK. This webcam is similar to a 2001 flip phone camera. All PIXELATED NO HD. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. I wish I paid cash to get my funds back immediately. No more Lenovo products for me I'll stick to the trusted HP brand.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop will boot from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are getting slower performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode for added security. Only APPs available at the Microsoft Store can be installed within S-Mode. You can switch to Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system, if you don't need the added security, or need to install programs other than those available at the Microsoft Store, at no additional charge. If you issues continue, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor:

Slow as a Turtle
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great computer if you like a sluggish and super slow laptop. I bought this as a temporary replacement for my Mac which had to go to the Genius Bar for maintenance. I couldn’t be without a computer for 5+ days, so I figured, why not buy a cheap laptop so I could continue to run my business. I also needed a PC to run one program that doesn’t work on Mac. I never expected this Lenovo to be as good as my Mac, but I didn’t expect it to be as slow as it was right out of the box. Set up was annoying because in order to use Chrome or my business programs I had to get out of that ridiculous S Mode. Supposedly this mode only allows downloads from Microsoft. Umm Microsoft, I am not a child and know what I can and cannot download from the internet. Not sure I can handle using this piece of junk even on a temporary basis. May spring for a mid priced PC to run that one disk. Beware of this one- I actually think turtles are faster than this Lenovo laptop!

Rather save up to buy a better one
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my husband for his school use. At the time i was on tight budget, so this laptop was the only option. Now after using it, I should say i would much rather wait and save up money to buy a real working laptop. This is a SLOW laptop. You cant get anything done. My husband suffers from getting anything open such as basic things, like word doc, ppt, webpages. He gets frustrated everytime working with it. If you are looking for a laptop to work, dont buy this one.

Total failure after 4 months of light usage
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily the worst experience I have ever had with a laptop. I started getting an error where the disk usage would show that it is at 100% usage even though there was only almost no activity on the computer. It now runs so slowly that it won't boot most of the time and even when it does it runs too slowly to do anything. It is complete garbage four months after I bought it. I barely used it at all. I never dropped it or spilled anything on it. The only thing I ever downloaded was Google Chrome. Dont waste your money on this.

Posted .To turn on the touchpad, try tapping the HotKey in the F6 position on your keyboard. This HotKey toggles the touchpad on/off. Additionally, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. It's horrible.Hard drive crashed in first 3 months
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for my son to do high school homework on and other internet functions. After only 3 months, the hard drive crashed. We sent it back under warranty and booted it up again. It's slower than ever. In my opinion, this is a piece of junk. The sad thing is that we could only return it in the first 16 days of purchase. Total waste of money.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Locks up ocassionaly. No "hard copy" manual included with item. Slow. Several times the screen would change by just passing the cursor over the screen. I should have returned this but I missed the return deadline. Camera quality is really bad. Forget trying to get Google or you have to go through a whole system change. I have free "Microsoft" office for a year then I have to pay $70/year after the first year to keep "Microsoft office"?

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is not what I was led to believe. Sub-Par
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does the job, but is A LOT slower than we anticipated. From the computer that we saw in store to the one that we brought home, it’s definitely slower than expected. When purchasing it, we knew it wasn’t top quality, but just using it we’re afraid the mouse pad is going to break from us having to press it repeatedly just to get it to work. Not the best thing to purchase, should’ve saved our money and put it towards something better.

Open Box Excellent - Certified . . . NOT!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop on-line as an "Open Box Excellent-Certified" item. According to the website, this is what I can expect. Geek Squad Certified Professionally Cleaned Looks brand new Includes all original parts/accessories Typically contains original packaging It came in a plastic bag with just the AC adapter. It was clear that it had not been cleaned and certainly did not look brand new, with at least a dozen fingernail sized scratches on the display screen. It looked like someone took it off the display floor, put a couple of stickers on it and stuck it on a shelf in the back room. Obviously, I am VERY disappointed with this experience.

Don't bother
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop as a bare-bones school laptop to replace one that broke in the middle of the year. Unfortunately, this doesn't really even fill that basic niche. I experienced constant issues with freezing, slow running and entire system crashes from something as simple as opening up a couple of Google tabs, or typing on Word. This computer barely manages to do the basics, and often can't do those well. Buyer beware, you really are getting what you pay for with this disappointing product from a usually solid laptop maker
