How to screw up the user interface on a microwave.

They have a "feature" called express cook. As soon as you touch a button on the microwave keypad the microwave starts running. There is no way to turn the feature off. Also, the exhaust fan sounds like you are next to a jet taking off, the light is very dim and is a 30 watt incandescent. Is LG stuck in the 1990's? Do yourself a favor and skip on this LG microwave.

I paid for the extended Geek Squad warranty. It has taken me 3 hours to even get someone to understand my issue. Not sure if I'm going to buy anything from BB again!

A good replacement for my previous microwave

I went on the hunt for something new. Overall I like the look of this microwave. As with a lot of the newer appliances, they have chimes and tunes instead of beeps. It gets kind of annoying, especially in the beginning but we're starting to get used to it. I like the usual keypad features but wonder why the fan has an on/off and a speed button when it could just be like the one button for the light, which presses through the different brightnesses and is the off button as well. The only thing that I'm not totally sold on is that the over the range fan comes on when the microwave is on. I'm not sure why, it seems like extra noise and extra use on the microwave over time. Overall its a decent microwave and I would recommend.

Microwave lights out!

Good-looking functional microwave.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a good looking microwave that does the job well. - Most of the sensor functions are not very useful. However, a few like reheating pizza or a dinner plate work well. The sensor heat is better than manually entering times because it seems to heat a bit more evenly and slowly so that the food is steaming hot. But it only works for a narrow set of cases. - Like other LG products, the microwave plays a tune at the end of the cycle. Muting the beeps and tunes is not explained in the manual. To mute it, you need to press Stop and Clock buttons together and hold for 3 seconds. - The wifi functionality is not that useful. It can send a phone notification when cooking is done, if that is useful to you.

The appearance is modern and clean while the control panel is glass rather than the flex plastic type that never looked as good as this.

The only problem is that it is very loud. The exhaust fan works all the time when the microwave is on. I called LG and they said you can't turn the exhaust fan off. I don't know if I can still return it or not. I like it, but with a very noisy price. I don't know if all microwaves only work with the exhaust fan on or not.

I have extended Best Buy warranty which came in handy. The replacement was done free of cost. The new unit so far looks good and makes less noise than the one before.

It takes a little getting used to but definitely is an improvement over the old one. You really don’t realize how much you use a microwave until yours goes bad. The delivery and installation was perfect. The black stainless is my preference and fits with the other appliances in my kitchen.
