Installed appliance and ran for the first time which is very quiet...the only thing I wish it came with was more than just a drain hose

We purchased this after reading many reviews. The sale price fell into our budget and the delivery was just fine and on time. Installation is easy as I have done this before. It does not take a professional unless you have to start from scratch with the drain tubes and water delivery hose, and have trouble reading instructions or watching you tube. The machine is rated at 50DB and I don't have a DB meter. What I can say is that using the delay feature does not wake us. It is nicely quiet and not at all offensive. This is our second LG dishwasher. The previous one was more expensive and a little quieter, but not much. It lasted about 10 years and when things went wrong they went all wrong. Pump out, fixed. Door seal started leaking, fixed. And the fabled E1 message that there was a water issue... This all happened at the same time. When I fixed one thing the next one appeared. I am very handy with this sort of thing and this went beyond me. The LG help line is great! Do yourself a favor, if you can't fix it yourself with the help of the manual, just call an authorized repairman. The help line will do absolutely nothing to help you. They will refer you to a repair person! Like I said, save your time and frustration and call someone or replace the appliance. This has been very difficult for me. I have repaired our home appliances for years, now it's always a $300 circuit board, once you have replaced the actual mechanical parts. Such is life... In all honesty, I like LG appliances but get frustrated when the smallest part made of cheap plastic fails and it shuts down the machine. Try replacing the ice dispenser tube in a side by side refer. The solution is to replace the freezer door. THE WHOLE DOOR! And I have to reconnect to the same plastic tube that failed in the first place! I now buy bags of ice and dump them in the delivery container, and a $24.99 Brita filtered water pitcher for ice water. If I amortize out the costs it will take 11 years and 3 months to break even with the new door ( not including shipping a 167 pound door; no amazon prime there!). Todays appliances are not what they used to be. Go ahead and spend $1500.00 on a dishwasher. It will be a little quieter, but the rest of it will fall apart in the same time frame as the less expensive model.

Love the stainless, inside and out. It fits so many more dishes than our old dishwasher. Some people talk about the sound level, its great to me, I can't hear it in the other room. The cycles seem to be a bit long 2h 20m, but thats ok as we normally run it when we go to bed.

The only reason I didn't dive it 5 stars is because of the racks. They fold down to allow for bigger items and they are supposed to snap up and down but they constantly fall down and I'm always lifting back up it's just a bit aggravating. It's the typical story of over engineering something instead of leaving the same old proven way. Again it's a great dishwasher though very quiet scrubs dishes and drys them 100%.

Installation a bit of a pain. The sound gaskets around the outside are basically ineffective as they barely touch the cabinets on each side. There is no sound insulation on the toe kick. Water connection is in a poor location and difficult to tighten, it also requires holes to be drilled in to the adjacent cabinets. The racks tines are all straight so dishes do not sit upright, the dishes lay on top of one another and rub causing extra noise during wash and scratches on dishes. I had read some reviews that people would take some dishes along and try them in the store to make sure they would fit, this is a very good idea. Although most comparable units have similar rack set ups. Operation is super easy, turn power on and pick cycle. It does do an excellent job cleaning and drying the dishes. The sound during operation is relatively quiet, it can be heard definitely but it is still quiet enough to hold a conversation while in the same room.

No only does this get the job done properly - this is easily the most quiet dishwasher i have ever heard! The only "issue" i have had with it so far is the bottom try tends to be a bit difficult to slide back into the washer when pulled out, when full. It will slide off track and is a bit of a hassle to get back in. That ONE con so far has paled in comparison to how great this little machine is!

So far so good. Fits snugly into the cabinet the old one came out of and our kitchen is 52 years old, getting a facelift. Quiet, our other was so noisy, and cleans well. Cycles seem long but maybe that is the way the new machines are designed. Stainless front is very pretty in the kitchen. Giving it a 4 only because we have not had it that long. Just a few weeks.

This one has a quick cycle but it still takes about 80 minutes (display shows about 1:24 for the cycle). It dries the dishes by using a fan and steam and it works well. The dishes lean over a bit more than they did in my prior dishwasher but it hasn't effected the ability to clean them. And it holds a LOT of dishes and glasses. Best Buy did our install too and I was so glad that they installed in the next week. My husband said that they were very thorough with getting it level, checking for leaks, checking the cycles, etc. It's working great.

This is our second of this model. The 1st one the motor went bad after 2 months. We got an error on the screen called lg they said they don't know that error. The repairman that came to look said it is a bad motor and that error is known. After getting it replaced the new one has no issues. It cleans well and does not make much noise. Got a 5 year warranty on the first one that was rolled over to the second good thing if the motor goes out again.

This was priced at the breakover point from cheap to expensive from my research. Very quiet and good performance but it takes a while to get used to not having a heated dry. I only use the tablet Finish Quantum in this unit per reviews and it is a very strong cleaner. Electronic controls are a bit arcane but work. Install was a bear due to electrical and hoses needing to run to the front of the unit (worth paying for). One feature on the install that was nice was the side mount v top only for many units. We have granite counters and this was a huge help and feature. Overall strong value for price and good quiet performance.

Drove to best buy looking for a new dishwasher. Had a general Electric gallery previously. Would recommend avoiding that brand. But anyway I had looked at alot of stores at this model of the LG dishwasher. Best buy had the best price. I had read the reviews here and also on the internet. This dishwasher is by far the best I've have had. It runs nice and quiet and the dishes come out great ! If your looking for a good dishwasher and something that is well priced. This is the machine.

Very quiet machine. Cleans dishes well. Easy to install. Two downsides....plates don't stand on there own unless you bend holders slightly & the washing cycles are long. We use the quick cycle which seems to get the dishes clean but we also prerinse.

    Great Dishwasher but Tricky Install

We purchased this dishwasher in a previous home and loved it. Went into this purchase with the same expectations. Frame of the dishwasher makes running the hoses AND getting the dishwasher installed deep enough to sit flush with cabinet fronts is tricky. Suspect the manufacturer has modified the design in the years since we last owned this model. Our model sticks out a full inch beyond the countertop and required an alternate installation method to secure it in place. Only an issue if you demand a flush installation. This model may not be for you. Our other issue is with drying (and it seems many models now have this). Too often the dishes still seem wet, even after a full drying cycle. We don't recall having this issue with the last one of this model (7 years ago). Have to suspect another design change (that has resulted in drying less efficiently). Nevertheless, Consumer Reports continues to rate this dishwasher highly. Unfortunately, for us, it's just not as good as we remember it being when we owned it before.

Good point - fits perfect under counter, just like previous dishwasher. looks slick, simple enough to use, baskets adjustable prongs for holing up plates, or to collapse to make room for off size plates, pots, glass. Bad points - hook up is not straight forward, and need hoses, its different from older dishwashers (which was not clear from sales person) [though she did mention the hook up kit, but after I told her I had a previous dishwasher there, we both thought older hook up would work - we were wrong] Adjustable brackets will snap open if there is too much weight pressing on them from plates. No "DONE" "CLEAN" indicator, other then a chime, and if you did not hear it, you be out of luck. Suggestion is a twist magnet to turn to "clean" after you hit "START" button... But be careful not to scuff surface of the panel... And the last down fall is that stainless surface which shows hand marks from a mile away, and the upkeep is tremendous.

The fold-down divisions in the racks are very convenient, although they do tend to fall down if you don't get them latched well. Our family likes the song it plays when the dishes are done. Cleans dishes well and dries better than our previous dishwasher. Soap dispenser lid is hard to get to stay shut. You have to get down eye-level to see what button to push to start it. Besides the few little quirks, we are very pleased with it.

The dishwasher is quiet and does a good job. There are two issues that I have. First is that while the racks are far more adjustable than those of my prior dishwasher, it is still more difficult to find a configuration that holds my plates upright. Additionally, the flatware holder seems ill fitting, as if it was an afterthought. I would recommend an LG, as I think they make good products, but not particularly this model, for the reasons described above.

OK, full disclosure - the price was great because I bought the floor display unit, but I'm sure even at full price it's a good deal. You can hardly hear it when it's running, and the dishes come out spotlessly clean. The only downside is the little jingle it plays when the cycle is complete - I'm not talking a couple of beeps here, I mean a full verse of annoying electronic tones. I'm sure there's a way to turn that off, I just haven't had time to figure it out, what with admiring the sleek stainless finish and rejoicing in my shiny dishes.

Purchased-Black Friday 2014. Stainless steel tub:Great! Love not having a heating element. Cleans dishes well, so far: Am only scraping dishes off, not scrubbing, before loading them into dishwasher. Quiet: YES, love this! Adjustable rack: Haven't tried to adjust height yet. BUT, Upper rack has an adjustable width for bowls-VERY POOR!! If adjusting to any width other than smallest, the adjustment just gives-way and all bowls fall down (may consider gluing at adjustment I prefer). ALL adjusting "connections" are cheap plastic. Am sure I will be using my warranty on these soon! Door Lock/Latch: Again, feels cheap. Don't think this will last very long either. Would like to recommend this on the cleaning ability and how quiet it is. Would NOT recommend this due to the cheapness of adjustment connections and door lock/latch.

Overall I am pleased with the dishwasher we purchased. It is very quiet and does get the dishes clean, but you do have to rinse the dishes before if you want them spotless, along with the silverware. It does not get them spotless if you do not rinse them ahead of time and just put them in like my old one did. I would still recommend it though.
