Please note that I am coming from a high end 6 year old Samsung HD which still rocks a great picture. That said, there was no real urgency to change since it has proved reliable and as good as any other 1080 TV for the time being.
Still... after seeing ads for lower prices I decided to take advantage of the New Generation of OLED's from LG. Isn't it time for all content to be shown in 4K? Wow... it is just fantastic!
Great TV >Love the colors, LOVE the BLACKS!
OLED's meet or exceed that of old plasma's pictures too. It is pretty hard to improve upon by actually turning off the pixels which the LG OLED technology does well! Great contrast and such a clear and crisp picture second to NONE!
With content from Netflix or Amazon in 4K its a must upgrade now especially with HDR on newer sets. Do not buy any 4K without HDR.
One small buyers note to be aware of if you purchase the set.
The TV doesn't really look that bright out of the box (compared to some other higher end non-OLED 4K sets, unless you go into some of the picture settings and play around with the picture presets AND change the energy setting to minimum.
I would say just by doing that that its hard to beat unless of course unless you want to totally calibrate your tv according to the user forums or an expert, but thats not really needed so dont let that scare you away either. Just using the expert bright and expert dark are about the best presets which I use by default..
Sound is decent for the tv speakers w/ Dolby Atmos but if you have a sound bar even better, but just for regular they suffice. Only issue with sound was getting Audio to synch with Video when connecting to Cable TV otherwise other connection sources were all great.
If you are looking to splurge some and upgrade your TV, then buy one. No its not really necessary at this point to move from standard 1080HD to the next generation of Ultra HD. However, if you use 4k sources or want games using 4k then get one! However the TV does upscale any content as good as anything out there.
OLED's are still costly for sure.. but you get what you pay for and they are totally worth it!

This OLED LG TV is amazing. The picture is crisp at 4K resolution. The colors are stunning, vibrant, bright, and thanks to OLED technology the blacks are really dark. The TV supports all three HDR standards (HDR10, DolbyVision and the newest HLG HDR!). The controls are very intuitive and the included remote is easy to use. Highly recommended.

I have always been a Samsung TV fan. However, when my KS9000 got a four inch wide bar right down the middle due to a bad panel (5 months after pirchase) and Samsung said they can't fix it nor did they have any refurbished ones to give me I was upset because I loved my KS9000. They said they couldn't give me a QLED because it's not the same (meaning $$$) and they wanted to give me an inferior TV to make me "happy". Well that's when I saturated looking into other options. They finally gave me a full refund for my KS9000, (5 months later) after jumping through 10000 hoops. I took that refund added a few hundred bucks and got the best tv I've ever seen. The LG OLED is the sharpest, brightest and truest color TV I have ever seen. It's blacks are the truest blacks you will see on a tv. The contrast between the darks and lights are amazing and the refresh rates even during movie streaming are very impressive. I will not be going back to Samsung ever again. The customer service was bad and I've come to realize that you really do get what you pay for. I recommend this tv to everyone.

All of the reviews that I read said that OLED was the best screen technology and it, indeed, produces a great picture. With the right content (even good quality network TV) it's almost like looking through a window. That said, the biggest improvement in TVs came with the move from SD to HD. Everything else since then has been incremental and, for about 10 years, we have owned a Sony KDL46W3000, which still works and is still an "OK" TV, but we wanted the 10 years of improved technology and a somewhat larger screen. Also considered the Sony XBR55X900E and XBR55X930E, because of the reviews and our good experience with Sony. We ended up with a 55 inch model, and would have considered a 60 inch too, had the best technology been available in that size, but it wasn't (from either LG or Sony). A 65 would have been too large for the space. The Sonys were cheaper, but would they have been equally satisfying at that lower price? Maybe, but the reviews all said that OLED was the way to go and, really, the Black Friday price for the OLED55C7P ($1,699.99), that we bought, was only a little higher than the highest-rated SONY (XBR55X930E), that we considered. One point: the off-angle viewing with our new OLED from where I usually sit is noticeably better than with our old Sony W3000. It is still, apparently, an issue with new LCD TVs, but are the new ones an improvement over our old Sony? Don't know. We ended up buying the C7P model over the slightly cheaper OLED55B7A, because we did not plan to mount it on the wall and the C7P comes with a much nicer, heavy, solid, real aluminum stand and, possibly, slightly better sound. As far as the sound goes: I'm probably not as critical of sound as I am of picture, so to me the sound is at least adequate. We may, however, end up buying a sound bar, since my wife thinks that the sound is a little lacking. If the LG SJ9 ever approaches the Black Friday price again ($699.99), Best Buy may very well have a sale, but at $999.99 (regular price) no, or even $849.99 (current sale price), probably not.

What can I say about this that the other reviews haven't already said? Not much! The TV picture is stunning! 4K content on this display will blow your mind!
Setup was a breeze and I also purchased an LG Soundbar to compliment the TV. The soundbar was heavily discounted due to TV bundling.
The only gripe I have is the remote. I do not like it at all but I have a Harmony remote that I'll use.
The blacks are 100% black and are deep! Colors flat out pop and brightness is great. Contrast is awesome on this TV. It looks great at any viewing angle.
Bottom line: But this now!

This is my first OLED tv. Having a Pioneer Plasma Kuro, this TV is definitly an upgrade and overall the best TV on the market IF you understand its limitations. As with every TV there are strengths and weaknesses and this TV is no exception. Its important when buying a TV that you know what best suits your needs. Lets first start with the positives. The blacks on this TV are incredible which yields intense contrast and really enhances detail. The picture at times is rich and 4K is fantastic. However, in some very dark movies this TV is almost too black which tends to crush the detail. Color is pretty accurate but for those that like a picture a little over saturated you may be dissapointed. With that said the whites on OLED tend to have a slight bluish grey tint. This can be very frustrating for the discerning eye. If you are getting a TV of this caliber its best to get it professionaly calibrated for the best picture possible. Overall the TV handles motion well but like my plasma it is susceptible to judder. If you are sensitive to this you may want to go to a good LCD. I would only recommend this TV in a darker room. It really shines in this type of environment. In a light room I would use a high end LCD. In regards to brightness the downside of OLED is it wont get as bright as a premium LCD so HDR is not as good as premium LCD tvs. Burn in is also a real issue. While I have not experienced any on mine I dont play games, watch news, or any other material for extended periods of time with graphics or logos that are constant. If you watch CNN or anyother news station 3+ hours a day STAY AWAY from this TV and go with an LCD. Otherwise you should be fine with any non static content. Off angle viewing is great on this TV where as most LCD TVs really degrade in picture quality as you move away from the center. Beside the issue with whites my biggest issue with this TV is upscaling. 4K can be downright mind blowing but anything else is good to fair to poor. Sony provides incredible upscapling with their processing chips and unfortunately this is the big downfall of LG. Most of the content I watch is HD. While HD looks good, the processor in this TV does not enhance the picture to notice any difference. Since there isnt much 4K content right now thats pretty frustrating. As long as you know this TVs limitations I think you will find that this, at least right now, is the best you can buy until Quantum Dots improves to allow for better blacks.

This is everything and more I wanted from today's TV tech. The blacks and colors simply can not be beat. I initially was hesitant with complaints and reviews involving burn in with LG's OLED tvs but what it boils down to is this: The issue has been addressed and as long as you take care of it, it's going to be just fine. Don't leave it on and walk off, don't have it turned on 22/24 hours of the day, etc. Granted, there's a "firework show" that assists with this issue if the tv is paused or left on say a Netflix menu for a period of time that automatically refreshes the pixels. All in all, if you've even considered LG's OLED line, get one, it's definitely worth it. I can't even put into words how the 4K HDR Dolby etc looks when it's all set up. Lastly, I went with the C7 model because I wanted the better speakers. Now I'm not a home audio eficianado but I know what sounds decent and what doesn't. These speakers in the C7 are awesome. Are there better sounds bars out there? Of course, but personally I didn't want to mount a sound bar to my bedroom wall and also, this TV went in my bedroom so I didn't particularly want all that going on. If you're still reading this or any review on the LG OLED TV's, call a spade a spade and go pick one up.

This is an outstanding TV. The Ultra HD 4K OLED technology makes sure you see every detail in games and movies. The HDR effect on the TV makes it seem like you're looking through a window and having the characters on the other side of it. Crystal clear and smooth. I bought this when it was $500-600 off during black Friday week and it was worth every penny. Some of the reviews from other websites made it seem as if the colors on this TV do not get bright enough. That is just not the case. It gets so colorful and bright sometimes I have to turn down the settings just a tad due to it hurting my eyes. The black colors get pitch black as well. Easy to set up. Some of the out of the box settings needed some minor adjustments, but all in all this was a great purchase.

This review is short because there's not much that I can say that hasn't already been said.
The picture is flawless. The value is amazing, even with it being at the high end of the price scale. It's incredibly future proof. When HDR or Dolby Vision kicks in (and it's automatic based on content) you'll lose it with how awesome the picture is. Black is black. Colors are vivid and perfect. Gaming whether via computer or console is a blast and refresh rate is every bit as good as my gaming monitors.
Finally, there's almost no calibration needed out of the box. Shut down energy saver, tweak brightness to you liking, connect to WiFi, and name your external devices. This is by far the best TV purchase I've ever made and the least time ever spent calibrating the picture.

This is my first OLED set. Very easy to set up as a smart TV and use it by voice commands if desired. OK, the picture out of the box was phenomenal. Great color fidelity, marvelous definition, shockingly brilliant HDR and full HD performance. Excellent sound from the built -in speakers. Exceptionally thin, yet hefty. Great selection of built-in channels. The remote will be your new hand held best friend (hmmmmm.) The Magic remote works wonders in achieving everything you want from the marvel. If there were two of me, I'd go out and buy another one.

Using LG OLED55C7P since 11/21/17. Been watching variety of contents (no cable so far, mostly 4k blue-rays and streaming) on this TV. The outcome is great. But 10 days of moderate usage, and I am seeing Image retention on the footer section? I ran the Pixel Refresher program under settings menu, which ran for an hour, and that cleared all the content retention or pixel burns. I was happy that it got cleared out but am worried now. Only 10 days of moderate usage could do this? This brings up a question that how long this is gonna work and finally makes a permanent damage to the screen? I check the forums and various reviews and to my surprise found that I am not alone! Lot of OLED customers have been complaining about this issue. I am nervous and I am not sure if I am gonna keep this TV as LG's warranty will not cover pixel burns or image retentions on its premium product. Too bad :( I thought my search for perfect TV came to an end, but, I will have to start again !!!!

Wow! Better than advertised. Yes, Infinite contrast is real. Fabulous out of the box! Simple setup. Builtin APPs are good. Remote is average. Works great with my Logitech Harmony remote. Great style. Screen is very thin so take care when unpacking. So many picture adjustments. Watch Avatar! It blew me away. This TV should be around for a long time! Expensive but worth every penny. Already have the LG 9600eg OLED which has stunning picture capabilities. Decided to upgrade to get full HDR support and lower input lag for gaming. I was not prepared for how much LG improved the picture or for how dramatic true HDR is when watching a 4k movie! Scenes from ARRIVAL, ROGUE ONE and THE REVENANT are truly jaw dropping on this tv! Playing xbox one S games in 4k and HDR adds a level a realism and cinematic effect that is nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend the this tv!!

I was asked to write a review for my LG OLED55C7P TV, but it speaks for itself. The colors are vivid and natural looking without saturating the flesh tones. Usually, when I buy a new TV, I tweak the color, tint, contrast, and brightness controls. I didn't have to do that with this TV. The only change I made was going from APS (Auto Power Save) to Standard in Picture Mode. Even white looks whiter than I have ever seen on a TV. Small text is very clear whether the text is black on white or white on black. I use an outdoor ant for my programs. Even though broadcast stations transmit high definition without HDR, programs still look great. I upgraded my Netflix account so I could stream HDR programing, and that looks even better as one would expect. About a week later, I purchased a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player. I had no problems connecting it to my TV and audio receiver. Again, I was very pleased with the results. If a user doesn't have the room or desire for external speakers, you will be satisfied with the LG's speakers. The only way I can see how to improve this TV would be to get it's 65" big brother, which was out of my price range. The only gripe I have, is the lack of a detailed user's guide or at least one available on LG's site to download. There is a user guide you can access on the TV, but it would be more convenient to have a printed guide you can read as you select the features you want, instead of trying to remember what you read on the TV screen.

Great picture quality, even non 4K content is amazing looking. Inclusion of HDR 10 and Dolby Vision is great for watching streaming content that supports either format. Have played both Xbox One X and PS4 Pro on the tv and both are drastically improved over my previous hdtv. Setup was extremely simple and each input has its own settings. Very intuitive and easy controls of all settings, apps, and tv controls. Connecting the remote to other inputs is as simple as point and click. Best tv I’ve owned and would highly recommend to anyone, definitely don’t let the price scare you off.

I love my new LG 55" OLED TV! It has so many preset picture options, which enables you to choose the picture setting that looks the best in your room. The remote is easy to understand and operate. In addition, the stand is very substantial. I am also quite pleased with the sound, which is excellent! I have hearing issues, but I never have to turn the sound above 14 (it goes to 100). I have not experienced any issues with 'burn in' as mentioned in some reviews. I believe this issue was fixed with the 2017 OLED sets. I am very plessed wirh this tv and highly recommend it.

Picture is about as close to real-life as you can get for a televised picture. Deep rich colors and smooth motion during action. I can even tell the difference between a cable picture vs. a streaming device picture, or a DVD. Overall view of the screen is great from any location in the room. There is no "sweet spot" for viewing, all angles are great.
For an even better picture, I highly recommend having the Geek Squad calibrate the TV. Picture was dark straight out of the box and there was no amount of manual adjustment that I could do to improve it.

I purchased the OLED55C7P and I don't regret it . All content that I've played on it is clear. I'm not much of a tinkerer of picture settings, but out of the box, the colors look wonderful, the contrast is the best I've ever seen. There are plenty of settings for you to tweak all day long, if that's what you like. Also to take into consideration is quality of sound coming from the C7P model. It is really good for built in TV speakers, and good enough for my small bedroom, I'm glad I spent the extra $100.00 or so over the B7P. The webOS 3.5 itself is actually great, it's quick, intuitive, and a joy to use. It slows down occasionally, but that's seems typical of TV interfaces these days. The only negative is some of the limitations with internet browser and the limited amount of apps in the LG webOS store. For the most part, it should have you covered for the most common streaming services. As of 03/2018, there appears to be no HBONOW or HBOGO app in the LG webOS store, and the web browser cannot display any content from HBONOW/GO. Of course you can always access your HBO content if you subscribe through Amazon and access your shows through the LG webOS Amazon app., which is what I started doing. Other websites I've visited, I forget which, don't display properly or at all. I thought to give the OLED55C7P a 4 star rating due to the limitations of webOS 3.5, but the TV itself doesn't deserve 4 stars, it deserves all 5. Just keep using your favorite streaming device.
