One of the Best TV's you can get
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG C1 77" is a excellent TV. I upgraded from a Samsung 50" KU6300 from 2016 so size wise it is a huge upgrade and the picture quality is the best I have ever seen on a display. Some people will say that the OLED panel doesn't get bright enough but I think that is depends on the TV you are upgrading from. For me the size increase makes up for the brightness, and the contrast on the OLED definitely makes the bright and dark scenes pop. If you are upgrading from a higher end LED TV that can have a peak brightness of 1000 nits you might be missing the specular highlight you are used to but I think the perfect blacks offsets this con. After having this OLED I do find it hard viewing my other LED TVs. If you are into gamming this is a must have with the ability to display 4K @ 120hz and its VRR capability for all four of it's HDMI (2.1) ports which is a hard find on 2021 TVs. A must have for the PS5 and the XBOX Series X. It also has a game optimizer mode that helps it's performance input lag, motion, etc. Sound quality is a bit to be expected on a TV if not a little better with is AI sound on, but I would expect anyone who gets this will also get a sound bar or a home theater setup. It has access to the most used apps (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, HBO Max, and more) and they all work flawlessly. With that said I still got a streaming device because it doesn't have some apps that I use. Setup was a breeze for this, I do recommend 2 people to lift it but it only took about 15 mins from opening the box to having it on my media console. Design is... the only word I can think of is slick, it looks like a premium display and I'm in awe every time I walk into the living room. Note for price this release for 3799.99 and at time of purchase was down to 2999.99 (at time of writing same price as last years CX77") which is a great deal but I has the possibility to drop $200 more before the end of the year. Still might seem a lot for a TV for the average consumer but if you watch a lot of content or play a lot of games it is totally worth this price and you won't regret your purchase. After one year of looking into TVs from 2020 and 2021 this is the one I would go with 10 of 10 times. If it says on the box that is can do something it can do it you are not going to have to wait for some update down the road to give it to you it has it all out of the box. I hope this review helps anyone torn between this and another TV, and that you won't regret getting this one bit.

Low Quality, will break - be warned
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this TV. It broke 15 months after purchase. I called LG customer service multiple times, and nothing. The best they did was redirect me to a repair service. Their OLED panels last 5 months out of warranty, it must be a sort of scam to try and fool other people out of their money.

OLED Perfected to it’s Best
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the past years have always bought Sony TVs, having a 65” and 75” near top of the line LCDs. For years have been keeping an eye on OLED TVs and waiting for Sony to launch its models, which came at premium prices. I almost went for the A9G, which was recently on sale for less than the C1 but decided to wait another couple of weeks to hear initial feedback. I’m glad I did, because the 2021 generation greatly improves the image quality in terms of better near black graduation, color accuracy, SDR upscaling and practicality eliminates black crushing, among other enhancements. The image looks even clearer and more 3 dimensional than last year’s OLEDs. It’s visible in real life, and also shown in latest YouTube review videos. Given the improvements and LG’s great reputation with OLED TVs, I decided to go for it. All manufacturers use LG panels anyways, the difference is only in image processing and LG comes with all bells and whistles. I received my TV on 04/06 and have been amazed by the picture quality, this year even SDR looks fantastic, and almost identical to HDR, absolutely incredible. OLED really takes TV watching to the next level, the greatest picture improvement since HD was introduced, IMO. Sony will be hard pressed to beat LG this year, and will definitely be more expensive. LG’s new processor produces some stunning images and at this point doubt that Sony’s XR can be any better, any difference will be splitting hairs, the Alpha 9 Gen 4 is that good, the AI enhancements are fantastic. Regarding the brightness, this TV is much brighter than my LCDs, and I’m not sure why folks out there persist that OLEDs are not bright enough. I think the C1 is about 5-10% brighter than the CX anyways. I personally think that increasing brightness any further would be too much to my taste. Contrast matters much more and OLEDs are champs in that department. Another huge improvement is motion, which is light years ahead of any LCD and its variants (i.e. QLED) that I have seen. If you want absolutely the best picture then there is nothing that beats OLED and the C1 is poised to be a best seller. I love everything about this TV and couldn’t find anything to complain about. Burn in is a problem from the past, as the pixel shifting technology prevents the issue, and the 2 extra inches in size, going from the LCD 75” to the OLED 77”, make quite a difference, being the cherry on top of the cake. If you’re looking for the best quality and willing to spend the money, then go for it, there is no better picture quality than OLED. Seeing is believing.

Fantastic TV!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE the TV! I can't believe the difference in the OLED compared to all the others! The color and clarity are Fantastic! The size fits perfectly on my wall and is GREAT for viewing. I had been looking at this TV for a few months. It was $2999 and then it went down to $2599 so I went and bought it. About a week late I was looking on Best Buy and it went down another $200 so I called and they were quick to refund the amount plus tax. Very Satisfied Customer!

It's just so amazing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's just a thing of beauty. If you're reading this review you probably checked and seen all the specs on this display so I'm not going to bore you with more specs. Seeing the display in home was jaw dropping. The level of details is awe inspiring. This is a perfect in home movie experience and the gaming on the display has been amazing. I'm currently running a series x. I settled on the 77 inch and I would definitely do The geek squad installation if you want to wall mount it. Not because it would be hard to do but it's a very awkward size screen and you definitely don't want to crack it. The only thing that took a little while to get used to is the webos interface since I'm coming from a Google based TV operating system. A lot of people complain about brightness and well lit rooms, my home has an open concept with a lot of windows and I can see the image with no problem straight on. There are times when looking at the display from more than a 45° angle that the extra light can become a little distracting but definitely not a deal-breaker.

77C1, Beautiful Picture, Close To Reasonable Price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this TV. I'm a big fan of OLED tv picture quality. I'm not sure if they last as long as other technologies. . .but the picture is absolutely amazing. Out of the box, set up was a minor challenge as the tv is a bit heavier than I anticipated. Two people is definitely the smart way to go. The picture, out of the box, needed some adjustment as it was rather dark. But, I like tweaking things like that so had fun trying the different picture options and then adjusting the settings from there. In the end, watching a baseball game on ESPN looked incredibly nice and realistic (or at least as realistic as I've ever seen on a tv). At first, I thought the tv was a little dim but adjusting things in settings it is absolutely bright enough for me. The tv is my in living room with a sliding glass door and window wish shades so there is definitely some sunlight during the day. The tv does reflect light more noticeably then my previous tv but not enough to where I don't enjoy it. If you watch a lot of heavily compressed/low quality streams of content, this size tv may not be ideal as blowing up a poor picture to start with only results in a worse picture. But, any quality content, WOW. Watching a movie at home on a screen this size. Another WOW. I don't have a use for the apps that the tv comes with or the built in sound so I won't talk about them much. I did have to run the tv speakers for a moment with my computer though and was very underwhelmed. So far, I have not seen any image retention on this tv. I was starting to see more and more on my previous OLED which also suffered from burn in (LG B6). I did set up a small fan behind the 77 C1 to circulate air. Not sure if that will help with imagine retention but I don't think it can hurt and it should be very inexpensive. I set up a computer to game and had a blast. I will note that attempting to hook up the 4k/120 hz video (via HDMI 2.1) to the tv AND sound from the computer to my AV receiver that does not do 4k/120, was less than ideal. I ended up sending the audio from computer over a digital optical cable to get it to work. There might be a better/easier way. . .but I haven't found it yet. There are newer OLED models that might be a little bit better (I don't have direct knowledge of that) but for the price I paid compared to what those others cost, it was not even close to worth it for me. I'm VERY interested in QD-OLED tvs but really wanted to upgrade to a 77" model and they max out right now at 65". If bigger QD-OLED tvs come out next year, it's likely they will cost much more than I would want to spend on a tv. If you watch over the air HD content via an antennae, cable channels that put out a high quality signal, movies/shows on disc (with the appropriate player), or high quality streamed content, and are willing to spend the money, this is a great tv.

Pricey and worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a 2016-era 4K LED set. Immediate impact. Great color, no ghosting. True blacks make dim scenes pop. Enough apps included that I could disconnect the Firestick and the AppleTV. Setup was quick and easy; sign-ins have been greatly automated. The remote is clean and obvious. The only gripe so far; smart sound adjustments are disabled if you use the digital audio out. By far the best set for the money. BestBuy’s price match let me buy before Thanksgiving with confidence. I haven’t looked back.

Best tv - pay for what you get
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To me, this is the best TV on the market for the price. I researched and researched and this is the one I wanted to upgrade to. Sure, there are less expensive TVs, but the quality of the OLED, refresh, the size, color, outputs and smart tv capabilities are solid. I also added the 4K Appletv to it and that works great as my full TV control. With an addition of Bose surround, I couldn’t be happier. Great buy and would do again.

Super TV.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is 1st rate across the board‐ picture, sound, apps, features, ease of use and smart controller. The only change I would make is to have the smart controller light up when using it. The controller also takes a little getting used to. Glad I went with the Oled vs Qled. The TV is so thin but my old wall mount did fit the vesa so didn't need a new mount! Be sure to have a helper when mounting to the wall. The 4k is awesome.

Excellent TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent TV, many options for tuning the picture quality, as well as ok built in speakers. Having the four HDMI connectors including one that is signified ARC, is most likely more than enough for most. This is a large TV, make sure you have plenty of wall to put it on. Its not particularly heavy, however does need 2 people to hang it on the wall mount. If you are using the stand, the stand is heavy, making the TV with the stand is heavy, for lifting on to a shelf. I really like the mouse pointer effect used for the remote, it works real well once you practice a little. Typical of the streaming competition, there are some apps (Britbox / ESPN +) that are not available to LG at the time of writing. This means that in this case I have plugged in a 4K Apple TV and primarily use that, as it has the widest application availability. This is all subject to change, and from a customer perspective this is really short sighted of LG and the streaming companies who do not provide an app for the TV. It was not a material decision point for me, but could be a big negative for some purchasers. Of note the processing speed of the TV is superior, changing channels and loading apps on the native TV is very fast, there is almost no lag Overall a really good TV, very happy.

Excellent Plasma Replacement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK so I had what was considered the holy grail of TV’s for a while now - the Panasonic ZT60 Studio Reference Panel. The true black and color reproduction was unmatched even tho it wasn’t a 4K set. However, we had a slight mishap and broke the screen much to my dismay. I went into my local Best Buy and spotted a team member whom I knew was very knowledgable about TV’s. He was someone whom I have spoken to several times in the past and is aware of the ZT’s greatness. I told him what had happened and I was looking for a replacement, he said nothing else but this LG will compare. We spent almost 2 hours comparing images with several other TV’s with this being the benchmark. We looked at color reproduction, blacks and shadow detail, reds and bleeding, judder, artifacts etc with the only ones being close were a Sony (using an LG panel just different software) and the LG G1 which was better but not significant and didn’t equate to the higher sticker price. After I installed the set, it truly shined as a thing of beauty. the picture is, “pretty” as my wife put it. I am VERY happy I bought this and it has been a suitable replacement for the amazing plasma I once had.

Incredibly good picture quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV replaced a last generation 60" Panasonic 1080P plasma TV. I was expecting that the OLED picture would be a marginal improvement over my plasma's picture when viewing 1080P material. However, I was shocked at how much better the OLED HD image is compared to the plasma HD images. And, when viewing 4K program material, the quality of the OLED picture is astonishingly good, certainly the best picture I have ever seen produced by a TV. Colors are vibrant and saturated and the resolution of details in shadows as well as in highlights is astonishing. The picture is as good as anything you would see in a movie theater, since movies are now typically filmed in 4K. This TV is worth every penny of its relatively high cost.

Awesome OLED but beware of vertical banding issue
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has an excellent picture especially using 4K Dolby Vision discs played from a dedicated 4k player. As it is an OLED, you should be watching this in a darker room (OLED don't get bright enough to handle ambient light). I have had no burn in issues after over a year of heavy use. However, I did start to see vertical banding happening after about a year though this may have been caused by its pixel refresher process it does after like 2000 hours (or you can run it yourself). However, the vertical banding appears to get better over time and it is only noticeable with very dark grayish scenes or scenes with heavy noise or film grain (especially when panning). This does appear to be an OLED Achilles heel. But overall, this has been a fantastic tv.

WORTH THE UPGRADE
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace E8 and was well worth it. I went to 77 and this tv is fantastic. Picture is great, colors spot on and 4K is incredible. Gaming on PS and noticeably different. Smoother, and colors really pop. One thing to think about, dont buy cheap HDMI cables. I had a Belkin 2.1 ( Yeah right) cable and i was ready to send the tv back. Picture blurry and Blah. I decided to replace the cable with am Audioquest Carbon 48 and WOW what a differrence. Overkill, maybe as they are expensive but the picture is MUCH BETTER, I am keeping the TV now as the picture is clear, color accurate and 4k is increduble.

BEST TV EVER
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the LG OLED 77”. This is the greatest TV! The color and clarity are unmatched by any other brand. We can see the picture clearly from any angle, and we can see it clearly from our kitchen as well, which is to the right of the TV room. The sound is great, even without our Bose Soundbar, but the soundbar makes it even better. We turn off the lights at night and we feel like we’re watching in a movie theater. Sports events pop and are amazing to watch! Highly, highly recommend this TV. And the install was fabulous too!
