Needed a CD drive since my new computer did not have one. Simple to use, plug it in and go to work. Good product at a very good price.

The word DVD is mentioned ten times in the description, but it won't play DVD's. You put them in and nothing happens. I did some research and you have to download software and pay an additional cost to get it to work. It should be plug and play.

I build and repair computers as a side job, and I had a customer that still required a DVD drive with his new laptop. This portable unit is light and supports the disc formats he needed. The unit only requires one USB connection.

Very nice cd drive. It has work wonderful for 2 years with no problems. Since laptops no longer come with cd drives I bought this one.

It s easy to use and does a great job. The case is lightweight and will not take much hard treatment.

I had originally bought a Blu-Ray/DVD Player that would not work no matter what I tried to do. This one though, worked from the second I plugged it in. Awesome and easy to use player. I truly recommend this unit.

So small and light. Good to have around for installing programs from CD. Don’t expect to use it for much else, but for the price it’s a no brainer.

What do you expect from a device like this? I expect it to be easy to transport, burn and play media , and not direct attention to itself. The LG does the job nicely. The only reason for not achieving 5 stars is I wish it were more robust since it goes in and out of my messenger bag.

works so far so good, just little noisy. But easy to use, plug in and play.

I'm only using this to add my cd collection to my computer so I can't speak to all the features, but it works well for my purpose. Upside: Plug and play, so easy to use. Downside: The disc tray does not eject fully. It pops open just a bit and then you have to pull it out manually to insert/remove a disc. Also, pretty slow. CDs took longer to import than I am used to with a built-in. I still gave it 5 stars because it works, and for the price that's all I expect.

This external optical does what it's supposed: let you play things on your desktop you built without an optical drive in order to make room for that sick cooling unit you ended up not using because it still didn't fit the tower and had to use a different method. The drive works and loads dvds quickly and writes as quickly as well.

CD/DVDs are still around and sometimes necessary. Few to no laptops nowadays include them, so you need to accessorize. This is very lightweight, so it perfectly fits the bill.
