Best external disk drive & portable... Even plugs into a tv

I purchased this so I could install my printer drivers on my new laptop. Laptops no longer come with CD drives, and if you already have a CD it makes it so much easier. I also will be using it to send photos to a friend who is old school -- can't share online. It's quick, quiet, super easy to use, and great price point. What's not to like?

I bought this with my Macbook, because it didn't come with a CD/DVD drive. This particular drive works well, and is a good alternative to the Apple SuperDrive (since this cannot play bluerays), if you want to save some cash. The product functions well and I'm very happy with it. The only downside is that although it is blueray player, you will need other software (not included in this product) to view bluerays on your Mac. You should be fine on a PC.

I love the slim and compact design of the device - makes it easily portable. Although the description implies it is black, the color is actually Brushed Silver on top and Black below - it matches my laptop perfectly! The included software leaves a lot to be desired. There is very little documentation. I would suggest finding a compatible alternate software program. Overall a great product!

The burner / DVDs player works very good so far. It is easy to use. It plays both regular and he DVDs. I like it because I can use it with the laptop or if we want to watch a movie on the tv then I can hook it up via the hdmi and we can watch DVDs on our tv. It is slim and small and portable.

My bluray movies are played flawlessly and my music is burned efficiently onto dvds. The design is sleek and the cord does not get in the way. This device is super portable. The software updates are a bit annoying though since they are programmed to pop up at start up. (minor fixable problem)

I bought this to use with my laptop. It is very easy to use for cds to add music to itunes. Once the included software was installed, watching dvds/bluray discs was easy. It is super lightweight and very slim.

When the DVD player recorder on my laptop failed I decided to upgrade with a external unit. It's size, weight and performance are perfect. I basically plugged it in and it was ready to go. My recordings have been clear and precise. This product has been aces for me when I was in a pinch and needed to record.

I really like this product because it is easy to use and does not take long to rip a movie or CD. No problems downloading software to my HP 2 in 1 laptop. Only downfall is that this product does not rip blue rays but it can play them.

W/ LAPTOP THESE DAYS GETTING THINNER AND REMOVING THE INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVES, THIS IS A SOLID OPTION. WORKS FLAWLESSLY. ITS QUIET, SLEEK LOOKING AND COMES W/ DECENT BLU RAY / DVD MEDIA SOFTWARE WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE ON ITS OWN, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CONSIDER THIS PRODUCT.

Great Blur Ray reader. Writes DVD's real fast. Connects to laptops without any problems. Very light and thin. I'm very happy with it.

The dvd/cd worked great with my Macbook computer. It was easy to setup and loaded up my movies and programs flawlessly. The unit was on sale and looks just like the apple version. Good buy at a good price.

Works well, compact, and fast. This is my first Blu-Ray RW player. I haven't written anything to it as of yet.

I purchased this external disc drive primarily for use with my MacBook Air. It worked flawlessly, but the first thing a potential buyer needs to know is that software (not included with the product) is necessary. If you want to avoid annoying watermarks and limited functionality, you will have to open your wallet for a paid version. Expect to pay at least $30 to $40. I chose the Aiseesoft Mac Blu-ray Player. It gets the job done. Another interesting detail for those using their equipment outside of the U.S. is that the software limits the number of times you can play discs from other world regions (4 or 5 times at the max, I think). (But this feature applies only to DVDs, and not to Blu-ray discs.) Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

This does what it says...bluray for an ultra HD 4k monitor and good enough for a projection television screen. No artifacts...I wonder if it upconverts? Great price and great product competitive with Amazon and online pricing which I found amazing...better service and cheaper than WALMART (!)

Connected the DVD drive to my SurfacePro 3 and was glad to learn that I didn't need to connect both of the USB plugs that are provided, since the SurfacePro only has one USB port. My frustration is that Microsoft doesn't provide built-in software any longer for this to simply plug and play as a DVD player. That is not LG's problem. The software that you need to download to make this work works well, but adds a couple of programs that I didn't want. The program that checks for firmware updates runs at startup even if you don't have the player plugged in and started to be a pain, so I uninstalled it after it updated the firmware the first time. I have not used it to play a BluRay and do not know how it will do. Overall, I'm pleased with the way it functions, just wish the software that were needed to watch DVDs was a little more streamlined.

This is a great external drive for playing Blu-ray discs and burning CDs. Works great with my HP Spectre x360. Easily set up in a few minutes! Small and light weight. A great purchase. Meet all my needs and expectations!

Purchased this for my Mac and PC and it works great! Same price as the Apple DVD drive but can read Bly ray disks. Only down side is that it requires 2 USB ports, but so did most the other drives I compared with.
