    Decent enough Picture when compared to Samsung but it pales in comparison to thew older OLED LG TVs

    This thing has a great picture, but every couple weeks LG updates the software and usually something gets screwed up. Either they force you to re-agree to user agreements, and you can't use the TV until you do, or they change some video setting buried deep in the setup menus, and you can't watch a blueray disc until you figure out which setting changed. The first time that happened it took me 2 hours to figure out why it had no picture. Aggravating.

    I purchased tv with the understanding that I would have 60 days price protection. When shopping in store for this tv I was on fence as to purchase this tv in mid October because of the upcoming holiday sales, I expressed these concerns to my salesman who assured me I had 60 days of price protection. Well the tv dropped in price and now the chat team and Best Buy will not issue me a refund or gift card. Long story short, salesman lies to get the sale and customer is on the losing end. Terrible customer service.

    I bought the TV about a month ago. So far the TV has not been delivered or mounted because the geek squad does not show up at the scheduled appointments. There is no communication either so you waste your day staying home from work.

    Did LG give up???

    Got this on sale for $3999 at AAFES (Military), which seems to be the going price now. It’s a basic TV. It isn’t anything special. It’s just a big, very basic LED LCD TV. The 98” screen is its only saving grace. It’s massive, immersive, and CAN be beautiful. The local dimming is above average. Coming from an OLED for 5 years I can say I’m at least impressed with how deep blacks CAN get, but often don’t. It had horrendous dirty screen effect right out of the box and has only gotten worse. What I thought was a peelable plastic protective cover ended up being the polarizing layer, which its corner was lifted hence me thinking it was meant to be peeled off. It took HOURS to calibrate the picture to something acceptable. The quick calibration where you pick different pictures and the tv recommends settings based on your preferences kinda was ok. It got me in the right direction, but definitely not a complete solution. So The Magic Remote: Oh boy, the magic remote… LG used to be the best. Their menu bar, in all its uninterruptible magnificence, was glorious. Now it’s laggy, buggy crap. The magic remote often moves the complete opposite direction. It’ll have a perpetual drift in any random direction for hours. Sometimes it seems as if it know which app I want to click on and does everything it can to not move to that app. My TV randomly changes inputs on its own, randomly loses connection with a plugged in and operating device. LG Channels comes up on its own occasionally. It’s not this specific TV either. My 55OLEDCX (2020) did all of these things after it was FORCED to update to the newer home menu software. I got a new TV specifically because of those issues and now I’m stuck with another LG that does exactly the same things. I will probably never buy LG again. The competitive edge LG once had is lost and its competitors are far, far superior. Goodbye LG. I was your biggest fan.
