We are very happy with this dishwasher. It looks great and cleans great. I love the third rack for utensils. We took out the large utensil basket from the bottom rack and stored it away since we never need it. This leaves so much space for pots and large bowls on the bottom rack. The folding tines are nice and create lots of flexible loading options. The racks are larger than our old dishwasher. Before I always had a half a glass worth of unusable space in a row but this machine perfectly fits a row of standard width glasses. The machine runs very quietly. It is just audible enough that you can tell it is running. There are some BRIGHT blue LED indicator lights on the front showing cycle progress. You will not need a kitchen night light if this is running. The controls on the top edge are convenient but difficult to read in dim lighting until you make a selection, at which point it lights up brightly. On our install the top control panel is visible just under the cabinet edge. It has a digital countdown cycle timer. The cycles are very long, 2:15 - 3:45 depending on cycle choices. All our loads have come out sparkling clean but plastic dishes often are still a little wet in the nooks and crannies. The adjustable second rack is quick and easy to adjust up and down, although I only moved it once so far. The inside capacity of this dishwasher is really quite large compared to all other machines I've used in the past.

I've been looking for a new dishwasher for quite some time and saw this in the store as a floor model. After looking it over for a few minutes and noticing the different wash modes I determined that it should satisfy my needs. I brought it home and installed it the next day. The installation was straightforward, instructions were excellent and it looks like it's always been there. The best part about this dishwasher is that you have to put your ear up to it to know it's running. This is a huge plus since we congregate in the kitchen after large dinners and couldn't hold a conversation with our old dishwasher running. Oh yeah, it does an outstanding job of getting the dishes clean too! I would definitely buy it again.

VERY POOR QUALITY Stainless Steel - HORRIBLE CS

I don't know what caused this stain, the dish washer was 1.5 years old when it got stained, this is how it looks now 3 years old, at the left bottom corner there are sign of rust, I swear we don't handle any abrasive liquids or similar. Not sure what may have caused this, but whatever that was, it was food, liquid probably. My question is: what kind of food is capable of doing this to -supposedly- stainless steel??? To make matters worse CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OF NO HELP AT ALL. It is really weird how they operate, once you're off the 1 year warranty they will tell you anything to dodge responsibility, and push hard for selling you a $250 labor service (plus parts). No analysis of materials failure, you create a claim and you never get a follow up, then you get tired or forget about it, they play with you losing interest by keep telling you the same excuse over and over again. I added an image of our kitchen, the aesthetic is totally ruined by this piece of POORLY MADE STAINLESS STEEL DOOR. We have all LG appliances, which WILL ALL BE REPLACED with ANOTHER BRAND. See my other complains on LG ranges and Microwave

We were replacing a dishwasher that made it impossible to talk in the kitchen while it was running. The LG dishwasher is amazingly quiet, so quiet that people have asked if it's even running. The adjustable height shelves and adjustable tines are great. We are still getting used to the glasses drawer and trying to figure out how to not make our glasses tip over due to a narrow, angled shelf on one side of the drawer. The third/top silverware drawer is great because it eliminates the need for the baskets and frees up space in the bottom rack. But if the silverware is lined up to close together and isn't rinsed well before putting in the dishwasher, they don't clean well and the food sticks. The dishes would still be a little wet (particularly the glasses) but we started using a rinse aid which fixed that problem and eliminates the need for the extra heated dry. My biggest negative is even after 6 months of use, the dishwasher still smells of heated plastic when it runs. I thought the 'new' smell should have worn off by now as it's not pleasant.

This dishwasher looks and cleans amazingly, however the shortest cycle is close to 3 hours and the longest cycle is over 4 hours. We usually do dishes before we go to bed so its not a big deal to us especially because its so quiet you can barely tell that its on. The dishes come out sparkling clean even with baked on cheese.

Capacity and Cleanliness are what i wanted and got. The thing is so quiet you do not know it is running. Mulitple cycles is good for different levels of dirtiness. Only real complaint i have is the length of time it takes to run full cycle, but i can live with that

I looked at so many dishwashers and read so many reviews that I was confused before purchasing my dishwasher, which replaced a 14 year old Maytag. I leaned towards LG, as I have their washer, drier, and refrigerator, and have been pleased. The dishwasher is perfect. I scrape the dishes, don't rinse them, and they come out perfectly. No spots on the glasses, plastic containers come clean too. And it is so quiet I wouldn't know it was on except for the indicator light. I'm glad I spent extra and got the steam model, I think it just melts away the dirt. Also love the 3 racks and the adjustable middle rack that allows me to wash large pots on the bottom. Absolutely no complaints!

I originally purchased a Samsung waterfall dishwasher. After having many problems with it and seeing how badly it cleaned, I replaced it with this one. It has been great. It cleans incredibly, has lots of room, and is incredibly quiet. I would definitely buy another LG appliance, it is great.

bought this LG dishwasher after reading many reviews and I am thoroughly pleased with it! It is quiet, efficient and easy to clean. the only con is after 4+ years, a few of the spears on the middle and bottom drawers are starting to rust. LG customer service is excellent and has offered to replace free of charge! Life's Good

My previous dishwasher stopped working and I found myself looking for a decent replacement. After some research I looked at the LG LDF8874ST, which was also on sale, and I purchased it. I must say couple of things about this dishwasher: 1. I thought my last dishwasher was quiet, but this one I can't even hear it when I'm right in front of it, kind of weird but also great. 2. Follow the instructions and put a rinse agent in the dishwasher and your dishes come out spotless and dry perfectly. Lastly the LG LDF8874ST does not have a food grinder but instead a filter at the bottom that if you don't rinse your dishes, and leave large food particles on, you will have to clean it out every once in a while. It's really not a big deal and shouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone. My recommendation is.... BUY IT!

This is the most expensive appliance I own at this point, and I LOVE it! I am frugal. I hate spending money on things like this, but I am so happy with this purchase. I wanted a dishwasher that cleans the dishes. My former dishwasher (husband) just wasn't getting the job done. To me, there is nothing more disgusting than "clean" dishes with food stuck to it....or lipstick marks, etc. (not only was my husband a bad dishwasher but my cheaper frigidaire stunk too.) The LG CLEANS the dishes! I am not rinsing them down either (for the price, I figured I shouldn't have to) well mild rinsing sometimes. I have not had anything come out dirty! All the dishes are perfectly clean! Next, I LOVE the 1/2 load function. I have a small family. We don't eat every meal at home, so it can take awhile to completely full the dishwasher, so this 1/2 load function is PERFECT :) I don't have young children, so the noise factor wasn't a huge deal for us. That said, you can't hear this thing at all. You really wouldn't know it is running if you didn't read the timer displayed at the top. Not a sound. More impressive, my frigidaire dishwasher used to steam up the entire kitchen, easily increasing the temp by 5 degrees-not to mention heating up anything on the counter above it. The LG remains cool to the touch. The counter doesn't heat up, nor does my kitchen. My husband scoffed at spending the money, but last night, even he said: "you were right. It was worth it." (Oh and don't forget, it has an awesome warranty. And for added measure, we did get the Best Buy warranty too. After our recent trouble with our Nabi and Samsung TV-we aren't taking any chances.)

Bought this one to replace my grandma age dish washer. So glad we did it. It cleans well and you could not even tell how it works as it is super quiet.! Elegant design. My only complaint is the drying step seems not powerful enough. I have to leave the door open half day to let the moisture completely out.

I love the features and it cleans very well. I had a Kitchenaid before and was not happy. A couple of things though. The dishwasher has a rubber coating on the outside so during the Hi Temp cycles I noticed a smell. I think how strong the smell is depends on the installation. If it is fit in snuggly with few or no gaps you may not even notice. I did the install myself and there is a little air gap on the sides, but now it has been a month or so it has gone away.

We've never had any luck with dishwasher's before purchasing this LG but this runs so quietly that we have to check to make sure we turned it on. Everything has come so clean and is dry when we pull it out. Has a great look to match our other LG appliances as well and was always a recommended brand from repairmen when working on other brands DW that we had previously. Will only buy LG from now on!!!

The steam cycles can remove even the toughest dried-on food with ease. The 3 drawer design provides plenty of loading options and it can hold a TON of dirty dishes each load. This unit is so quiet I literally have to strain to hear it running in the next room, and even in the kitchen, it is never more than a faint swishing sound. It also plays a cute little tune when your dishes are clean.

The first one I got was leaking from the door, but they brought another one out and its working fine. I am very impressed by the amount of dishes that can fit in this thing. It's also extremely quiet, and does a great job getting the dishes clean. I've heard certain dishwashers don't work well with certain detergents. I am using the "Power and Free" tablets, along with the matching rinse aid, and it works great.
