This dryer has a lot of great features. I will start with all the things I like. First, it has a light! I returned one a couple weeks before getting this dryer because of several reasons, one being no light. Second, I like the steam feature that does not require you to tap into a water line. You simply fill the built-in resivoir. I like the stainless steel drum and actual buttons that are not hyper sensitive. I also appreciate the "flow sense" indicator that tells you if lent is blocking the exhaust process.
My main complaint is the rubber seal on the door is not adequate. They knew it had issues when it was made because it is even addressed in the instruction manual. The manual recommends wiping down the seal regularly. I have never had to do this for any other dryer. The seal collects a ton of lent. The seal does not really seal much at all I guess. There are pictures to show what I mean by at ton of lent. It also collects along the metal rim of the door frame (see pic). I have at feeling that even with proper maintenance, it will require future rubber seal replacement. I hope I'm wrong though. I am guessing there is a seal is on this model because of the steam option. I really don't recall a seal on my non steam dryers from the past. Bottom line, you must wipe it after every load, and who has time for that?
The next complaint is that at least 3/4 the time I have to run the load a second time on "speed dry" bc it does not thoroughly dry. On "Speed Dry" it runs for the specified amount of time and not on autosense. I have tried increasing the dryness level to "very dry" and adding time with "reduce static" and "easy iron" add on features. It still has damp spots. It's as if the dryer isn't being honest with its self about how long it's really going to take to do it right the first time. I don't mind seeing 60 plus minutes for the Delicate cycle time because I'd rather not come to the dryer and expect to put in the next load, only to find that it will be 20 more minutes and press the 5-7 more buttons to set it all over again to achieve a dry load. My load sizes are the same as before and my older front loader whirlpool dryer had no trouble thoroughly drying the loads.
The other complaint is that I typically select the same settings for clothes. On my last whirlpool dryer, it would remember my previous settings on that cycle. So now, every time I must select "very dry", "reduce static", "easy iron", "wrinkle care" when I choose the Permanent Press, Delicate or Cotton/Normal cycle (common clothes cycles).
Another issue is the door height from the floor (10 inches). This is scam on all current models/brands. They put it so low to the ground to try to force you to buy the overpriced pedestal. My laundry basket does not slide under the door with any of the new models. That is annoying to have to angle it when I open and close it in a tight laundry room.
Ultimately, I would recommend it to a friend. The brand new whirlpool that I had for 2 weeks before exchanging it with this one also has difficulty thoroughly drying the clothes in one pass. They all seem to under estimate the cycle time.
My hope is that quality control and product development will take these honest critiques and improve future models.

In my previous home I had all KitchenAid appliances. I could not replace my washer with a KitchenAid so LG was the next best one. In moving to FL and buying a new build home, the builder's grade top load washer did not cut it with me. Within one year I purchased a new washer and dryer. This LG front loader holds so much more and cleans so much better than the other top load washer. Thank you Pacific Kitchens and Best Buy.

Like this dryer for the options: steam, wrinkle free, speed dry when I'm a rush, and any other need you could think of. Have the older version at the lake, never disappointed!

Stylish and performs very well. I would recommend this product to any of my friends, recently purchased the matching dryer which is equally as good. Both operate very quietly and efficiently.

Let me start like that, the features seems very nice and useful. However, some of the features are good for just few cloths, being just useful for a quick thing here and there. The dry sensor is a joke. It always turn off before the cloths are dry, so it is not actually saving any energy since I always have to use the manual or put to dry and go back to keep drying for extra couple minutes. The accessories are very expensive, so not worth buying them. In resume, you buy a very expensive machine, with nice features that doesn't work very well and at the end you just use the manual option.
Also, I have this machine for almost 1 year and the back grille is rusting.
For these reasons, giving a low score for the cost vs benefit.

I bought this unit with the matching LG washer.
Together they fit perfect in my laundry room since they are less deeper in dimension than most other manufacturers. This one only measure 29.75 inches deep while others are usually in the 34 inch range.
Pros:
- Super quiet
- Large capacity
- Dry clothes super fast
- Easy to operate
- Love the wrinkle care & steam functions
- Pleasing aesthetics
Cons:
- None so far.

You get what you pay for. I purchased this with the matching washer in white. This dryer has a ton of options (most of us will probably never use each and everyone of them). Compared to the old dryer, the dry time is noticeably shorter. Large loads are also not a problem.
The lint trap is easily accessible and a breeze to clean. I would recommend vacuuming the lint trap cavity once in a while to keep the airflow optimum.
The steam feature works well for the limited number of times I have used it. You will definitely notice less wrinkles.
Stainless steel drum make it easy to keep clean. The looks are added bonus

I'm in love with my washer (and matching Dryer). It's so easy to use. It has great capacity. The clothes are not taking such a beating. There are a large number of cycles to choose from. Clothes come out of the washer drier, so the actual dryer time is lower. It's super quiet. If a washer/dryer combination can be said to be luxury, this is luxury

Its a good value dryer, and I bought it mainly for the True Steam function. It is very quiet, and dries really fast. It does leave portions of the clothes very slightly damp but I believe this is better for the clothes than the super dry and hot behaviour my previous dryer showed. It only take a few minutes outside to fully dry them and I guess there is a timer option to set if you want something very dry indeed.

This dryer is working out perfectly. The LG NFC app works well with my smartphone in keeping me informed of time left in the drying cycle. It works well drying larger items like blankets and towels in one cycle unlike past dryers we’ve used. I’ve used the steam and sanitizing setting to dry my puppy’s items which come out very soft and clean smelling. This was definitely a great purchase.

This was a replacement for a regular dryer and I love it! It has a speed dry cycle can dry a light load in 15 minutes. I can also add time if I think it needs a little more time. Several settings, can fit large comforter with no problem. I love the steam option, can steam a load that might have wrinkles and be ready to wear in a short time.

Couldn't imagine a better dryer

As I imagine is the case with most people, the dryer choice is driven by the purchase of the matching washer. This was my case, but the specs and existing dryer views contributed to the decision to purchase this LG model.
The dryer comes with the standard selection of presets and anything can easily be modified.
The most amazing attribute of this dryer is how absolutely quiet it is. I constantly find myself checking to see if it's still running (even though I know I haven't heard the finish chimes). The wrinkle prevention settings appear to work well. The default drying times for any particular setting seem to be very accurate, although for large bulky items that tend to knot (e.g., sheets) , there may be damp spots. I don't think any dryer can solve that problem. I like the final result to be slightly warm, versus just 'dry,' so I'll often bump the dryness level up one notch. It's just so easy.
For the techie in the family, you can download an LG app that ads extra settings. Personally, if I start doing laundry with a phone in my hand I'm afraid it'll end up in the washer, so I don't really use the app.
Bottom line - excellent dryer. You can pay more for 'advanced' models, but I'm not sure you'd get anything more usable. Paired with the matching washer makes this purchase a no-brainer.

Not tried all the features yet, like steam - not had a need so far. But what we have tried is easy to do and dries the clothes fine, with a nice, large-opening door. Unit is quiet - a pleasant little tune plays when clothes are dry - beats the usual loud buzzer.

We recently had to replace our 5 year old washer that exploded mid cycle. We decided to go ahead and replace our 20 year old dryer since it was only a matter of time before it went our as well. This LG steam dryer has many useful cycles: one for bulky items, less dry option for things that you just want to damp dry, and the steam function that uses water you add to a container. We preferred this over other brands that require the dryer be attached to the water supply. The dryer is quiet and dries clothes quickly. It looks really nice with the matching washing machine and adding the pedestals make both very easy to add and remove clothes.

This dryer is just awesome. Lots of options. This bad boy is fast, quiet, roomy, AND the first dryer I have ever owned where I can throw things like blankets and towels in and they are dry after one cycle. Buy this with confidence,

Quiet, very efficient, beautiful color (black stainless); many options for drying, easy to operate, love the selection knob; growing tired of the end-of-cycle chime - it would be nice if it could be changed.

This was my first LG purchase. I have had it for about a month. LOVE how quiet it is. LOVE the chimes it makes when starting/ending cycles. I haven't had a chance to experiment with all the settings yet, but am so pleased this far. The only thing I wish it came with is a stationary drying rack, but it may be able to be purchased separately? I haven't looked in to that yet. The other thing I would say to new purchasers is that Best Buy sells rigid vents to go with the dryer, but if you use them the machine stands out pretty far from the wall. I used my existing flexible vent that was in great shape so the machine fit fairly close to the wall and I returned the rigid vent kit back to the store. My other recommendation is to purchase the pedestal. The dryer door is quite low without it. My husband is 6' 5" and needs the height, I am 5'4" and love not having to bend! We got a scratch and dent pedestal (hardly noticeable) and saved $100. It is the laundry room, so nobody really sees it but me.
