If your tired of the old boring color when you turn on your lights and want something that sets your mood, then I highly recommend installing these bulbs! Filling up your room with different kinds of colors can effect your mood in a positive way. Also if you like to make videos like me then having different color background will make it stand out more. Setting up the app is easy and it takes about a minute or two before you start playing with it. $60 is a lot but it can make your room feel different and more interesting. Must Buy!

I read many reviews before i decided to go with LIFX over the Hue phillips for one i like the idea of not having a Hub. with LIFX all you have to do is install run the app and connect them to your house internet once u have that you can control all the lights you installed simple as that. a tip if you have more then 1 light installed make sure all lights firmware are updated you check on the app this is to make sure they work in sync such as choosing the same color for all the lights at the same time or you can individually set their own color to create a nice atmosphere. as long as your wifi is stable you shouldn't run into problems. another tip is to make sure the lights are powered or you will not be able to find the lights in the app to change color, you can leave them powered on then turn off the light within the app this keep the light off but your power switch it still on so u can turn back on with the app instead of walking up to switch hope that makes sense. try out the effects and preset colors they are pretty fun to explore.

I use 2 br30's as flood lights. I love the color 1000's I have 2 BR30's and 24 A19's. I can light my whole house up inside and out the same color or have each room a different color. Or when I wanna be plain I keep me white!

    Best Smart Bulbs!

I had an opportunity to purchase a new hue bulb kit at a significant discount. I placed 6 Hue lights into my living room recessed light fixtures and was very underwhelmed by the lack of brightness and color reproduction. I wanted to keep them, but even at such a great discount they were too expensive to live in a cave and not be happy. I decided to double-check what was out there. All the reviews on the LIFX bulbs talked about how much brighter and accurate the color reproduction was. Honestly, those reviews were 100% correct. These LIFX bulbs are awesome! Brightness and color reproduction is exceptional. The app is more user-friendly than the Hue app, especially when changing colors. White light temperature levels can be changed too! From candlelight like yellow to bright white/blue daylight. Side benefit is no hub is required which was not a deal breaker for me, but I appreciate it as my desk was getting rather crowded. Downsides I can think of is sometimes the app lags a fraction of a second or very rarely a bulb within a group wont turn off when commanded. I rectified this by changing my WiFi channel to a less used channel - instructions I received from the friendly support team at LIFX. Oh and the bulbs needed an update which took awhile after failing a few times. More annoying than anything. If you are considering smart bulbs and you either a) want the brightest option b) want the best color reproduction or c) don’t want another hub, then the LIFX bulbs are it hands down.

Good but not as bright as the Color 1000 A19 bulb/

The LIFX line of smart bulbs do a reasonably good job a good price. I bought this bulb to replace a LIFX Color 1000 A19 bulb that I was using in a recessed fixture over a table that called for a BR30 bulb. My wife didn't like how the A19 bulb looked because you could see around the bulb. This one fits great and made wifey happy since it looks good. My only issue was that the A19 color 1000 put out visibly more light at its highest settings. I usually control the bulb with Amazon Echo which is very cool, however, the echo sometimes cannot find the bulb so I either need to manually switch it off and back on or use the app. The LIFX App is super easy to use and way better than the Philips Hue App. Be aware that the LIFX bulbs are connected to your wifi and if you have a large number of these bulbs you coud experience some problems. The Philips Hue system requires a bridge but then no matter how many bulbs you use (up tot he bridge limit, I think 255) you only use one wifi connection.

The colors and energy efficiency are quite good. This bulb remembers the last color that it was set to when power is turned off (from a wall switch), which is something that the Philips HUE lights don't do. Each LIFX bulb requires a wireless 802.11 type connection to your router or WiFi extender. That limits scale-ability and reliability. I have 26 of these lights in my house (with excellent WiFi coverage). Whenever I issue a command to all of them, 2 or 3 of them don't respond. It's always a different 2 or 3 each time. It's a bit random. I usually have to hit the on/off button or scene button for a LIFX group multiple times before all the lights 'take' the command. IF LIFX had gone with either ZigBee or Bluetooth Mesh as the method of connection, it would be the perfect product. Sadly, this product is (only) good (not great) because it relies on traditional (2.4GHz) WiFi. Great for a few bulbs in a room. Less great for a multi-story house full of these bulbs. If I were to do it all over again, I'd probably go with the Ilumi bulbs instead. With both ZigBee (Philips) and Bluetooth Mesh (Ilumi), each bulb acts as a repeater which darn near guarantees good coverage, And you don't need to get a special WiFi router that will accept more than 32 devices (they are spendy) that you need to with LIFX. Net-net: Good bulb, doesn't scale to large quantities of bulbs. Recommendation: If you get a large number of LIFX's, but them on a separate dedicated WiFi network and then control them using a device that ISN'T connected to the same network! Doing that channels all communications through the router, and avoids your controlling device trying to talk to each bulb directly. That makes a difference. I had a whole house full of Philips HUE lights before I switched to LIFX. I'm glad I did. The Philips HUE lights have better connectivity, but the bulbs themselves are terrible in comparison.

Better colors than HUE without a hub to deal with. The easy app for your phone can allow control of each bulb independently, or all with the same color or brightness. They turn on at the same color and brightness level they were last set to. Exactly what I've been looking for! Try them... I think you'll keep them.

Purchased two of these to cast color onto a small stage. The color options are amazing. But you need to keep the brightness down around 50% or the colors start to get washed out. They still cast a good amount of light even when set to half brightness. Setup was easy and straightforward. You need to make sure you Wi-Fi is strong were you place the bulbs. If it is weak, you will lose connection with them. We were at the edge of our network range and kept losing connection. Since we moved the router closer, we have not had any issues. The app is pretty straightforward and easy to use. I would recommend these bulbs.

Great Smart Lights. On-Boarding Process Needs Work

Choose these over Philips Hue. They are brighter and cheaper with occasional hiccups that can be corrected with switching the light on and off from the switch. One light was faulty (faint glow after turning off) and Lifx sent me a new one after I reported the issue. Love the integration with IFTTT. Works with Amazon Echo. I mainly use voice commands to turn the lights on and off. My biggest issue is the on-boarding process. Not seamless, so be prepared to spend some time getting the lights connected to your home network.

Better than other brands because they do not require other hardware to dim. Easy to setup, they do however disconnect from wifi once in a while, but no big deal.

I did a lot of research before I decided on Lifx. I was building a new house and decided to go all the way with smart bulbs instead of spending money on regular LED's then changing them later. I have over 60 of these bulbs installed and the least I can say is that I am impressed. They can be really bright when needed which is a must if you are using them all over. All colors are great but you will need to dim it to about 50 to get the real color which is expected and OK. The only problem I faced had nothing to do with the bulbs, it had to do with the number of wifi client my router permits, I had to scatter these on 4 different routers, once I did that they worked flawlessly. Integrated nicely with Samsung smartthings.

I started out with 1x Lifx BR30 bulb and within a year, I outfitted almost my entire home with Lifx bulbs. White 900 bulbs in the kitchen and hallways and Color 1000 in the family room and bedroom. My most recent addition is a White 900 bulb on the font porch and have it set on a timer -- no more fiddling with light switch timers that require batteries and programming like an old digital watch! I feel like I live in the future--inside of a giant lava lamp/mood-light. I can't express how much I enjoy these bulbs!

It's great. Make sure you have a rock solid wireless router and strong signal where you intend to use these. The over all experience is fantastic. The colors and brightness are impressive. The templates are also a nice feature. The App could be better. Bulbs or the app seem to loose connection every once and a while. I still would recommend this product.

I had been waiting for a BR30 LIFX bulb to come out, this one works great! I had tried the Hue bulb previously, but was disappointed in the cost and the lack of "true colors", it wasn't able to produce green at all, not the case with these. I also had a few of the smaller bulbs, and like that these do not rely on a hub to communicate. Simply launch the app, connect to your wifi, and you're all set!

Works with 110 and 220 I live outside the States. Great with Amazon Echo, plus no hub like Hue. The app when not using Echo is simple and direct. Even my wife admits she likes it. Only problem is initialing pairing and upgrades can be time consuming. Waiting for outdoor version.
