They're large and heavy but put out great light. The app keeps getting better too. I have these set to come on dim at sunset and gently brighten over time. In my opinion they put out better color light than my hue lights, but are not nearly as well integrated with other home automation devices as the hue lights. No Amazon echo or smart things integration. You can overcome this with IFTT, but it takes some work.

These lights put out much better light and colors than the Philips hue lights, I know I have 19 of the hue lights. The tick off of one star was for integration with other home control devices, which as stated in other reviews can be overcome with some hoop jumping and using IFTT. Though in the past few days the have added integration with the Logitech harmony hub based remotes, which is a very good thing. I can now control my LIFX lights with my remote or add them to a scene. My main problem area was my back porch, with my wi-fi I have a difficult time getting anything to stay connected out there, and these bulbs were the same. Without wi-fi these bulbs act pretty much as normal lights, you have to turn them on and off at the switch. The good thing about these bulbs vs the hues, when you use the switch they come on as you had last set them. So if I had them green and at 50% they would come on that way. But if I want them to come on as the default white 100% I just switch them on, off for 2 seconds then back on. This is a big deal if you don't want to go looking for your phone. The last firmware update seems to have fixed my wi-fi issues though and haven't lost connection to the back porch bulb in 4 days.

Only rated 4 stars because items are pricey. Easy set up and ease of use. Can easily adjust color/mood of any light from the convenience of my smartphone. Especially like the feature that flashes the lights in the event of an emergency via my Nest alarms.

So, to start with I definitely love this product! It's very easy and fun to use. I've only had minimal issues with the connection issues that others seem to of had, but overall it's been very smooth to use. I did have to return my first one when it totally stopped connecting for some reason, but the second has been doing great. I would like it to be a bit more secure though, I've been able to operate the lamp when I'm not even connected to my home wifi. The colors are spectacular though! They are very faded if run at full power, but if you cut back to around 50%, they're very vibrant.

I wanted to experiment with a multicolored led wirelessly controlled light. This was the perfect choice. It gets nice and bright, great range of colors and easy to set up. The Phillips Hue bulbs look great, but I didn't want to invest in a whole system. The only drawback is that you need a lighting fixture that can handle a maximum 80 watts. I hadn't planned on using it in a ceiling fixture, so I had a hard time finding a lamp.

Has some interesting qualities as most of the smart bulbs are, and encouraging that the bulb is set for upgrades regarding sound and temperature. Nothing practical at this point, but has reaction settings to sound to give a strobing effect.
Includes a "blinking" effect which is limited to 5 blinks before stopping which isn't apparent as to why at the moment. And combined with Nest Protect will flash/blink if a smoke or CO2 problem. What would be helpful if a continuous flash to provide as an outdoor light for help with Fire and Rescue locating.
17W continuous is slightly higher than most.
Constantly drops off WIFI and has to be reset by turning off and on. Running a local router and extended routers so LIFX and App must be on the same router it appears for light to function. So it doesn't serve any practical smarthome function for me as yet for reliable setting of commands, such as turning Nest Thermostat on or off. Just experimental and fun is all at this point.
No complaints as to potential and perhaps finding functional workarounds. Along with hoping upgrades come.

These lights are very cool. They work like expected and are easy to use. The only downside is that they don't work with as many third party home automation systems like Phillips Hue does.

This is a pretty cool light bulb. I only gave it 4 stars because the app is not that great. I've had to delete the app and download all over again. When the app wants to work, the light bulb has an amazing color range. Great to set the mood for any occasion.

I have 8 of these bulbs scattered about the house. The setup although easy could use some fine tuning. Techies don't write good instructions as they think everyone has the same product knowledge. The bulbs function very well with remote access and scheduling as the highlight. Occasional quirks happen but generally power cycling the bulb will resolve the issue. I've noted more issues with the new 800 bulbs. I've seen several firmware updates to resolve connectivity issues and the product stability has improved greatly. My experience with LIFX customer care is very good. They seem to be interested in resolution and keeping their customers happy.

Easy to use and setup. Extremely flexible and very bright.
I usually only have it at 3 to 5 percent when watching TV and at about 50 percent when reading. Music mode where it varies the light color with the room's sound is almost to bright.

This light is a favorite of my daughter. It was a little hard to get it connected to her phone but once done it is a blast. You can set it to your phone alarm for a sunrise awakening! We chose this brand to keep innovation going-it's a kick starter brand.

Great light. App is very easy to use. Light is very bright and colorful. Price is a little higher than Phillips but well worth it and you don't need a hub. Just plug it in and connect to your wifi.

Works through wifi. App is free and has some really neat features like color rondomization and scheduling to turn off or on. Only thing I wish the app had was geofencing, which turns the light on whenever your phone is in a certain range of the bulb. I heard of third party apps but have not actually tried any.

Wonderful bulbs work with both 110 (US) and 220 (international) voltages. Simple instructions and setup however they do drop off the wifi periodically about once a week and require reconfiguration which takes about 5 minutes. Went back & bought 3 more... On sale as the full price is a bit hefty.

Very cool concept of being able to control lights wirelessly and to connect to your Nest system, but the app is not the best and oftentimes requires you to reset the bulb at the light.

I was hoping for a little more from this product... Music synch is not really developed and I wish there was an option to run as a multi level intensity white to simulate a tv on in the house... A little pricey but worth it in my opinion...

This is a fun light since it is color, and you can set the colors to rotate. You can also set the colors to respond to music but only if the app is open on your phone and if the phone is close to the music source since it uses the microphone. It works with Nest so if Nest goes into away mode, the lights will come on/off randomly to give the impression some one is home.
Unlike Wemo and Hue, these lights do not require a separate controller device or rely on the manufacturer's cloud service. What you lose is the ability to schedule the light to turn on/off but the workaround is to use IFTTT to schedule the lights. And that works fine.
