    Linksys EA9300 is FANTASTIC!!

I've used a number of Linksys routers and all have had excellent speed and range, good build quality and easy set up. The Linksys EA9300 Max Stream AC4000 router is the latest in the Max Stream line and it doesn't disappoint one bit. The EA9300 is about average in size for a high end router with six adjustable antennas, five Ethernet ports, a USB port, and a simple LCD display on the front. Kind of sleek looking. The EA9300 is a tri-band (2.4Ghz+5Ghz+5Ghz) router that supports 5Ghz band steering and MU-MIMO. As for performance it's one of the fastest routers I've used with amazing speed. I have 350/25 service and I get every bit of those speeds with the EA9300. Every device gets excellent speed and AC clients that are MU-MIMO enabled are crazy fast. The EA9300 easily handles my 25 devices with ease. Everything from iPads, Arlo Cameras, laptops, Rokus, 2 4K HDTV's, Xbox, all run without a hiccup. Wired clients also are really fast, transfer speeds on wired clients have been in excess of 900 Mbps. I have an Ethernet switch hooked up with four devices attached to it with no slow down at all. As for signal strength and range I'm currently using the router in a 2 story 2400 sq. ft. house and have zero dead spots anywhere with full speed all over. Easily outperformed a couple of mesh systems I used for a lot less money. Signal easily reaches my back yard, heck I streamed music at my neighbors house four houses away from me, that's pretty impressive. Bottom line if you want a great router with excellent speed and range that doesn't cost $500 than the EA9300 is the way to go. This is an excellent router and highly recommended.

The Linksys EA9300 is following in the footsteps of its bigger brother. It offers excellent speeds, great range and ease of setup, but unfortunately like its brother, it has some requirements and limitations that make one wish that Linksys would give a few more options to consumers. To start with, the EA9300, like its cousins, pushes you to create a linksys account to set up the device. This is not a requirement, but the setup process makes you feel like it is, and it's somewhat of an annoyance to get around it in order to set up the device locally. I'm not real big on the whole 'big brother' watching my home network so I tend to steer away from creating accounts for devices that I dont feel necessarily need such accounts themselves. That said, however, setup is very straightforward, as is all the new Linksys routers, and you should be up and running with very little hassle. Which brings me to the firmware. It's fairly bare-bones, not providing functionality like VPN client or server capabilities or wireless bridging. The network map is fairly limited, and it can be difficult to decipher which device is which based on what the router is showing it as (especially if you have a lot of devices). But it gets the job done so it's more of an annoyance than a real complaint. Where it really matters though, is the range and throughput. This device follows the configuration of its big brother, with a similarly designed footprint and antenna layout and the range is excellent. Speeds are consistent and fast, though as with all current wireless devices, the marketted speed is not currently obtainable with any available network adapters (need simultaneous dual-band or tri-band adapters, which just dont exist yet). All in all, it's a good device without any major gripes that could really be excellent if the firmware was a bit more robust.

The Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wifi Router is a beast! The size is beastly, the weight is beastly, and the speed is beastly! This is for someone looking to push their WiFi to the limit. If you have speeds lower than 25Mbps than this router is not for you. Even from 25-100 Mbps this router seems like overkill but at least you're able to stream in 4k at those speeds. This router is really meant for the top tier WiFi speeds maxing out a 1GB of speed. Every dollar that you're paying to your ISP will be seen when using this router. You'll get the max amount of speed you can and you can be using upwards of 25 devices at the same time. It has 3 separate channels for your devices to connect to which is awesome when you have multiple devices connected and being used at the same time. The range is incredible and is advertised for large homes and in my medium sized home I didn't notice any dead zones or weaker signals. The Linksys app is great for quick customization and it is also used to set up the router which is quick and effortless. Just create an account and follow the instructions. It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete if everything goes smoothly. It is best to connect this router straight from your modem so if you have a modem/router combo provided by your ISP I would call and find out if a standalone modem is possible. Overall, this router packs a punch and streaming videos, playing video games, and browsing the web is seamless. Customizing from your phone is very useful especially to adjust firewall settings or for monitoring the activity on the router. It's great for the advanced user and overkill for the average user.
