Only been a day but absolutely love this mesh system. Switched from the Google Nest setup to this. Am in a split level home so needed something strong to cover the 2000 sq ft. First speed test was almost 700mbps. I couldn’t get up to 400 with the nest router. We don’t live stream or game in the house very often but even with 4K streaming it seemed as though google couldn’t keep up. I initially went to Best Buy for the TP link Deco but the setup was a nightmare and returned it and while at Best Buy did a quick research of Linksys mesh networks and it seemed as though it was just what I needed. Again, only been a day but very pleased.

Upgrade over original velop triband

Improvement over the original triband ac2200. Range seems better and roaming seems better. Its nice they are backwards compatible with other velop devices. I have a traditional router with mesh and it works perfectly and the old ac2200 nodes also connect but i found i do not need them. Speeds have went from 200 if lucky to over 500 pretty much throughout the house on gig speed fiber. 2 are hardwired, 1 is not but its smart enough to know to connect to another new one rather than the older wifi 5 main router. 8000 sq ft i think is a stretch at best but 5000 sq ft with 3 of these and a main router in the basement utility room and it works great. Some complain about the larger size but larger size means more and larger antennas mean better coverage so i don't mind.

I wish I could give this router 5 stars. It is a huge upgrade from my old router where I used to only get ~200mbps but now I get >~900mbps but it disconnects sometimes. I have to reset the router with the Linksys app or manually reset the main node.

Was easy to set up and seems to be helping our wifi signal with four people using multiple devices. A little pricier than what we were looking at initially, but happy that we have the three devices.

The Velop AX4200 mesh router system has been excellent in the 4 weeks since I installed it. Installation was quick and easy, taking about 20 minutes to setup the router and 2 nodes using the app. This was a pleasant contrast to the Netgear Orbi AX4200 router that I also tested, which was difficult to install using the app and had to resort to the web interface (after a couple frustrating hours).
I also tested network wifi speeds across my home from 5 locations, distances of about 5 to 40 feet. The Velop router generally was slightly faster than the Orbi router, though both were about twice as fast as my old Google wifi mesh router.
Overall pleased with the new router and was surprised that I liked it better than Orbi.

Great for coverage not as powerful of a backend that i hoped. Good for speeds up to 500mbps (yes Im using a wifi 6 device, i get 1gig to 1.2gig local wifi, and speeds nice and flat),unless you hardwire the the nodes and use built in ethernet ports. But easy to use and solid consistent speeds and do the trick.

Easy to install with simple directions from the accompanying app. Works great for a large area of coverage. I’ve been very happy with Internet speeds, even with over 20-30+ devices connected.

I had previously purchased two AC1300 Velop units for a rental property and they were flawless, so when we needed to replace our Apple Time Capsules and Airport Extremes at home, I decided to go with the Velop AX4200 three node system. Installation was a snap using the app, I was able to keep my same network name, so all of our connected devices, found the new hardware and all was good. I really like the interface of the app, the ability to see and control each device on the network, and frankly their overall looks. My only con on this is the much bigger size of the AX4200 units compared to the AC1300 units. You can buy these units with confidence...

I am always trying to improve my network by making it faster and more secure. I have a three level town home which I am trying to cover completely in a mesh network. This is just one more device that I am trying to improve my coverage. I am still in the process of connecting everything and I have heard Velop has pretty good coverage. I will have to update this review at a later date once I have everything connected. I will be using this device along with several other devices to cover every corner of my home. I cannot take a slow network and I often find myself spending the money to try out new products. The thing that I hate is having to reboot a device after uptime of a few days I am hoping that with Velop I will not have to do this and and I can allow the device to run for a month or more without a reboot and again I will have to update the review at a later date to let everyone know my results. So in conclusion Velop has gotten good reviews and I am hoping that I can add to that but for now I am still connecting the devices .

The good part is that I have good coverage on all 3 floors with good speed. The system popped up quickly, i.e. installation is a snap.
The bad parts are (1) configuration options, and (2) 2.4 Ghz channel configuration.
There are virtually no configuration options. I am not used to this with a Linksys router. The configuration menu is cryptic, what little of it there is. I have a thermostat which worked fine with my old Linksys router. It is 2.4 Ghz only, i.e. no 5.0 Ghz channel. You would think this would work this advanced router. It does not. The 2.4 Ghz channel is consistently lost, making my Internet-based thermostat useless. There was a work-around where I configured a 2.4 Ghz channel and then connected the thermostat to that channel. It still lost connection. This is not acceptable.

Hi, Turk,
The Linksys MX12600 Velop WiFi 6 System should provide a stable WiFi connection. You can try to use the channel finder on the Linksys app to optimize the nodes and, you can access the Velop system's Web UI to configure the wireless settings. For further assistance, you can reach out to us at [email protected] and share more details with the link to this review for our reference.

I have had a problem with WiFi coverage in our home for a while now, with spots of low or no signal in some key areas. After doing some research potential solutions, the best recommendations always pointing to the Linksys family of products.
I purchased the Linksys Velop AX4200 3-Pack and just wonder why I waited so long to do this. Set up was a breeze using the on-line app, and adding devices was quick and painless. Speed is fantastic, and coverage throughout the house is great.
I would HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone looking for improved speed and ease of use!

Upgraded our home wifi system after 9 years. We were using a NetGear powerline system into a NetGear GEFORCE wifi router and a repeater to provide sufficient coverage for our large two story old home with plaster walls and wood beam construction. This old house presented some significant coverage challenges for our old system, requiring a LOT of hardware to cover 4000 square feet. Our old system did not have the power to cover our semi-attached garage.
Setting up this system was an absolute breeze. Just follow the directions in the box to set up the app, then the app does the rest. The app will tell you if your node placement is viable, and does all the work for you. From start to finish, setting up all 3 nodes took me less than an hour. The app also provides some really great diagnostics and system status information, will tell you what is connected to your network, provides the interface to set up a guest network, set network passwords, etc. No more connecting to a router via a web app.
In terms of performance, I would estimate the coverage capability of this system to be as advertised. Although I have only 4K square feet (not the 8K advertised in this system) - the construction materials and geometry of my home make for a very challenging wifi coverage problem. Add to that the semi-detached garage and I am bumping up on 7K square feet of area. This system provides full power coverage at every extremity of the home. The network is easy to connect to, has had no hiccups, and provided noticeably faster data rates than our previous system. A fantastic wifi solution that is well engineered, easy to setup and use, and easy to maintain.
As a final plus, the nodes themselves are visibly unobtrusive and relatively small, they just blend into the background and don't look like network gear. Aesthetics count!

Overall set up was simple enough. We get a good signal for over 20 IOT items in our 1300 Sq ft house with the three that are included. I wish there were matching mounts for them. We had to find a black one off Amazon to put one near the ceiling.

I've been running the original tri-band Velop system for about four years, and for the most part have been happy with it (which should be evident by the fact that I stuck with Velop when I decided to upgrade to WiFi6 rather than switching to a different system). Setting up the system and adding nodes is easy (though a bit on the slow side). Three nodes is sufficient to completely fill my 3800sq. ft. two-story home with a great WiFi signal (I could actually probably get by with just two nodes, but I'm glad I have three).
Compared to the original Velop, I'm finding that the signal level (RSSI) tends to be just a little lower on these for the 2.4ghz band, but a little higher on the 5ghz band (small differences, like 1-3db). Speed is noticeably faster, even when using WiFi5 devices, likely due in large part to the fact that the backhaul between nodes is WiFi6. One other thing to be aware of, these nodes are substantially larger than the original version. The addition of several more ethernet ports is a welcome change, as is the more accessible on/off switch.
My devices roam seamlessly between nodes, as confirmed by being on a WiFi call and walking throughout the house. As with pretty much every other consumer mesh WiFi system that I'm aware of, a small issue is "sticky" clients, meaning when you move, your iPhone might tend to cling to the original node that is further away and/or on the 2.4ghz band when there's now a closer node that would give faster speed, but this is not the fault of the WiFi system... it's up to the device to decide when the signal has degraded to the point where it needs to find a new access point (and most mesh systems can help these devices quickly switch over with no interruption). From what I understand, some higher-end WiFi systems have functionality to help prompt devices to switch sooner, and actually the Velop has something called "Client Steering" which is supposed to "let your network direct your wireless devices to the note with the strongest signal", but it's unclear as to exactly what this does.
Now, on to the app. This has really been my only complaint about the Velop system in the 4+ years that I've been using it. Though it's a reasonably nice-looking and functional app, there are some issues and wish-list items. In particular, the Device List tends to get the names of devices mixed up (as an example, the device it listed as "Mac Mini" was actually my iPhone). In the web interface, you can clear the device list, which will usually fix this issue, but after a week or two it ends up being scrambled again. A traffic meter display (both to see how much bandwidth each connected device is using at that moment, and also a cumulative bandwidth meter to show monthly usage) would be nice. I also wish it would give you the option of seeing more detailed information about the operation of the system... RSSI and link speeds between nodes and for connected client devices, for example. You can see some of this kind of information in a rough text-only presentation by typing the IP of the router in your web browser and adding /sysinfo.cgi, but it would be nice to have this available in the app in a more user-friendly manner.

Had the system for four days before having to return it. Initial setup ran into a couple of minor hitches, but I was able to work around it on my own. Within four days, however, two of my computers encountered issues where they were connected to one of the routers, but the mesh didn't see them. Disconnecting and reconnecting would address the issue, but that's not a good solution for a system at this price point, especially when my 7 year old router never encountered these problems. I attempted to work with Linksys support, and after waiting an hour on the phone to talk to someone, I was greeted by someone who had zero technical knowledge or expertise whatsoever, and could not explain why they were making ludicrous suggestions including, and I am not joking here, changing the name of the wireless network (I know why this would temporarily address the issue, because it would force you to disconnect and reconnect all devices to the network), and that the problem is due to an issue with the drivers for my NIC (on two separate computers, with no previous issues connected to other routers...). Eventually, the rep put me on hold to "research" and when she came back, she supposedly could no longer hear anything I was saying when there had been no difficulties previously, and then hung up on me, and did not call me back after explicitly confirming my call back number for cases where the call is disconnected or encountered issues.

So far this system is working flawless. Have a 2400 sqft home with a 5000 lot a d it covers very well. I have the main node centered in the home, one hardwired in the front family room and the other wirelessly upstairs. Was very skeptical on how well speeds would be but I have yet to have an issue and can stream multiple 4k videos along with my PS5 at the same time without any buffering or degradation of performance. Using these in an old 3,500 square foot house which using a high end single access point would not cover. Have three of these and we are able to get good speed through out the house. Had some trouble with the nodes dropping once in a while but a firmware update took care of this. Now they have been rock solid. The web and phone apps are pretty straight forward to use and setting them up was very easy.
