I got it for the length since I have a super huge desk which once again the length is great. However, everything besides that irritates me. There is no way to adjust the direction of the second arm in a way not corresponding with the first arm. Also It lacks the ability to easily stay where you play it you pretty much are forced to pick one direction with the first part of the arm being flat and the second moving up with the mic down- there is a few other ways of course but directionally it is limited. The build quality is amazing, it is not flimsy at all and I do like the core concealer it has built in following the arm all the way down to the desk that you do just pop open though.

The arm will not stay bended. The tension knobs do not work. I have it, as do most people, bent at 90 degees (roughly parallel to the desktop) and it will not stay in position. The tension knobs are supposed to tighten to keep it in place but they do not work. I had to attach a bungee cord to keep it bent properly. Horrible design. It you have a five pound mic maybe it will stay in place.

Listen to the negative reviews. I bought this for my son, it might be one of the worst products I have gotten him. If, for some reason, you need an arm that sits there in the same spot and swivels left or right, this MAY work... if it does not constantly sag. However if you need a product that articulates know this.... it can't. If you don't tighten it to lock it in place, then it either sags or you fear breaking it by moving it against the tightened locks. Its super low quality for the price, no question
Hi there, sorry to hear this. It sounds like a set up opportunity and we'd love to help with that. The boom arm should articulate as expected once the mic is attached. The weight of the mic allows the boom to balance automatically and without the mic the arm will continue to sag or spring straight. You can then fine tune the adjustment via the hand tightening at each hinge. These should only need to be tightened lightly. Further articulation/snap control is available via the screw on the base. Check out this video and the boom arm is discussed at about the 1 min mark https://youtu.be/ywR87diubyo?feature=shared&t=60

Good tension and was very easy to install! My amazon one broke so hopefully this one will last longer but out of the box I can tell its more durable.
The Logitech Compass Premium Microphone Boom Arm is a great choice for anyone looking for a durable and easy-to-use boom arm. It has good tension and is very easy to install. The built-in cable management system is also a nice touch.
