Let’s face it, first impressions count and right out of the box the Logitech K800 impresses with its sleek design. Its matte black finish wards off fingerprints and the clear bezel surrounding it gives an upscale look. The keys themselves are well spaced and full sized; I appreciate the surface contour of the keys, my fingers rest perfectly on them, much better than a Microsoft or Dell keyboard. While typing, the keys give a muted click and have just enough resistance and spring to them that you can tell that this is a keyboard that's not going to fall apart. However, admit it, the real reason you're interested in this keyboard is the illumination. First off, with a nod to customization, there is a brightness control that allows you to go from off to full on white light and anywhere in between. At lower illumination levels the letters are visible and subtle but when you turn up the light the keys really pop, a vibrant white light and at full power you'll see just a hint of an outline around the keys, really sharp and frankly a pleasure to use in a darkened or dimly lit room. I also like that the functions are lit in a warm amber light making them stand out as well. One other interesting feature is the proximity detector that dims the keys when your hands are away and brightens them as you bring your hands to the keyboard; it’s a nifty bit of magic that certainly aids its ability to conserve energy while being a cool feature. On a final note about illumination, I appreciate that the keys are uniformly lit, from the top to the bottom, left to the right and all points in between; the glow is even, consistent and easy on the eyes. The illumination is the standout feature on this keyboard and Logitech nailed it. Since the K800 is wireless it requires its own power source, rather than contend with AA batteries this black beauty makes use of a built in rechargeable battery that charges with a micro USB connection to your computer as needed. Sure it means having another cord in your drawer but it sure beats AA's in my book. Speaking of connections, it’s very easy to connect the keyboard using the included Logitech wireless receiver, just plug it into a USB port and you’re ready to go, it couldn’t be any simpler. Before I finish my review let me answer one other question, will it work with a Mac? The answer is yes, pretty well actually. Yes the box says Windows and no the layout isn't really built for Mac but I thought I'd give it a try. Connecting it to my Mac was easy, even though the keyboard was not "recognized" I was able to select a generic keyboard and voila, I was ready to go. The last bit I'll say about Mac compatibility is that not all of the function keys are going to work as you'd expect them to and you'll have to get used to using the Windows key rather than the Command key but frankly it’s just not a problem. In a way it’s funny, keyboards, like mice are pretty much taken for granted until you use a really lousy one or as in this case one that's truly exceptional. At first pass, you may say that a keyboard's a keyboard but then you'd be missing out on an upgrade that you'd really appreciate. From the excellent design, high quality fit and finish to the tactile feedback and shape of the keys to its rechargeable power source the K800 is a fantastic. When you factor in proximity based illumination you've got a real winner! This is one upgrade that I'd recommend to any user; now, if only they'd release a dedicated Mace version, so until they do I'll happily continue to use the K800 with both my PC and my Mac.

Goodbye old keyboard and hello Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. This has got to be the best keyboard I've used in recent years and I've been through countless Keyboards over the years. The Ergonomics of this keyboard design is Excellent! I am blown away at how comfortable it is to use and the factor of the whole thing is just so sleek; it almost look like the keyboard is floating on your desk. I haven't enjoyed typing like this in years. The feedback of the keys are responsive and my fingers just fly with each loud click coming from the keys. Another thing I love about this keyboard is that the "FN" keys are just perfect for using. Thanks to the Illuminated keys (which I will get to in a minute.) The "FN" Keys light up a golden-yellowish making them easy to spot on the keyboard. Everything from playing music to opening up your E-mail and Searching Online for content are all there with a stroke of a key. Calculator key works on the fly to sitting beautiful on the right hand side and well lit. The whole thing that brings this keyboard together is the Illuminated keys and more then likely this is what your buying the keyboard for. This is a flawless design! I can now type in the dark without disturbing other family members with the light on. The keys are nice and bright and you can set the brightens up and down with the "FN" keys F5 and F6. It doesn't matter what time it is in the day it makes the keys easy to see and blast away at typing. No more fading out letters on my old keyboard due to the light shining through them. At the top right side of the keyboard is a on and off switch so you can choose if you can have the light on or not. Logitech did a GOOD job on making this keyboard. Outstanding build quality. It was easy to setup and its light weight so you can carry it around the room if you so choose. Battery life of this keyboard have been excellent lasting me longer then 21/2 weeks before recharging. it gives you a 3 bar indicator over the Mute key letting you know just how much battery life you have left. Tap the "FN" key with F7 to check your status of the battery. The USB recharging cord is somewhat short through. Overall this well-lit keyboard is beautifully designed. It just feel like a very well designed wireless Illuminated keyboard. Something that's just so easy to use and I just can't stop giving good praises to it. This is a must buy especially if you have a hard time typing in the dark. its worth the price. My girlfriend also loves this thing and I may buy another one for her. This is a product I will always recommended to others.

Logitech has always produced very nice accessories for computing and gaming and this wireless keyboard is no exception. The unit uses a USB nano receiver for communication with your device and is ideal for laptops and desktops. The receiver can stay in place without being vulnerable or catching on things. If you use your laptop on the go and then like to set up a home office environment with larger screen, full size keyboard, and standard mouse, the receiver can stay in your laptop full time and make the transition from home to on the go very easy. To ensure that you don't have to permanently tie up too many USB ports for all your wireless devices, the new nano receivers and compatible devices use the Unifying technology which allows the use of one nano receiver for multiple devices. Basically, you can have one receiver work for both mouse and keyboard at the same time. Unfortunately, older Logitech mice, which I have several of, are not compatible with Unifying receivers so you will have to upgrade your mouse to take advantage of that. Still, if you have a limited number of USB ports on your device, Unifying technology is the way to go. The back lit keys are the best part after considering the flawless wireless connectivity and performance. The keyboard automatically adjusts back light brightness based on ambient light levels so the back lighting is never too dim or bright for most conditions. When I connect the laptop to the HDTV, the wireless keyboard allows me to surf and control my laptop w/o having it on my lap. Coupled with a Logitech mouse, you can compute comfotably from your couch on your HDTV and do it in the dark. Great for late night video streaming and surfing on the big screen. I could go on about the power conservation with auto back light sleep, the long battery life, and the no hassle plug and play functionality, but the review would never end. You can't go wrong with this keyboard. It is built solidly with superb fit and finish. This keyboard meets and exceeds the performance and value I've come to expect from Logitech.

This is my second k800 keyboard. I know that may scare a few people off, but the last one worked for over five years before it bit it. I may have helped it on its way to its demise because I stopped recharging from the computer's usb and used another multi usb port to charge it that may have been of too high a voltage. The original would hold a charge for between 2-6 months between charges. This new one is down to two bars after just a couple of weeks, but I won't recharge until I am at one bar to see how long that will take. I see from the manual for the keyboard, the charge is only supposed to last around ten days. I also replaced the rechargeble batteries about a year ago on my original k800, and I thought that would fix the recharging issue --it needed to be recharged every week or so. It only helped a little, raising the recharge cycle to about three weeks. I used a larger capacity set of rechargeble batteries, but that didn't improve its longetivity. About six months ago while I was typing away, my original k800 suddenly got brighter and brighter, and then abruptly stopped illuminating. I didnt realize how much I looked at the keyboard until it stopped lighting up. I was always more of a hunt and peck keyboardist, and since I usually type only by the soft glow of the computer monitor, this was a great loss to me, but I adapted. But then about four weeks ago two groupings of keys on the old k800 stopped responding so I dragged out the keyboard I received with my Windows 7 computer and tried to use that. That wired keyboard was nothing compared to my old wireless k800--so that is why I bought another k800. And it is now about $30 cheaper than when I originally purchased my first k800. This is a keyboard that makes me want to type . The slight indent on the keys are helpful, even for a hunt and peck person. The bounce back on the keys is solid and feedback from the keys is just right for me. The build and finish of this product is exceptional and that is why I would recommend this to any of my friends--but perhaps not all the gamers, since I watch my son play, and he is very rough on the keys. When he is typing, he is fine, but when he is gaming...well lets just say, I wouldn't want to be any of the keys. I like the matte finish too. It doesn't really show fingerprints. And this time I downloaded and read the manual, so I now know how to use the full functionality of this keyboard. So yes I recommend it. You should get one too.

The best keyboard I've ever used

I purchased this keyboard to replace an extremely flimsy one that came with my computer. I had originally had my eye on the older Logitech wired illuminated keyboard, but decided to give wireless a chance since the shape of the keys made it a little more comfortable to use. Once I got it home, I opened the box, and I was extremely impressed with the packaging. The way this thing was packed, I felt like I really had something special. hooking it up to the computer was a breeze. I just plugged in the wireless usb adapter, and it started working right away. It did not come with an installation disk, but the driver was easy to download and install from logitech's website. I have had no issues with connectivity at all, and the range is great. I've used it from across the room without any trouble at all. The hot keys integrate seamlesly with Windows 7, and when you press the volume controls, they actually display the volume level on the screen. Additionally, all of the hot keys are customizable. Illumination is perfect. There are four levels of brightness. The only drawback I have found is that when you wake the computer up or reboot it, the illumination resets to the lowest setting to save battery power. This is not a big dealthough, as the illumination control is right there on the keyboard. I love the feel of the keys on this keyboard. They feel solid, and have just the right amount of travel. the key tops are slightly contoured and feel great under my fingertips The life of the rechargable batteries seems fine as well. I've used this keboard for several days, and the battery indicator still shows a full charge. Overall, this is one of the only computer peripheral purchases I've made that I feel completely satisfied with.

I do my computing in a very dimly lit room. These backlighted keys are absolutely great, no more fumbling for the correct key. Their backlights are the popular elephant-grey color. I have their brightness set at its lowest level. I can't overstate how handsome they look. They're so good looking in this dim computer room, I just want to keep staring at them. gosh. I soon decided to leave the keyboard plugged-in full-time. That way, the keys stay lit. The Logitech docs are useless in explaining how this operates. When you first power up your computer, or restart it, the keyboard reboots itself and the keys stay black. (or briefly light-up, then go black). Then, contrary to normal unplugged operation, when you wave your hand over the keyboard, the backlight does NOT illuminate. You have to press a key* to illuminate them. (Alt or Ctrl will do). Then the keyboard stays illuminated indefinitely, until the computer is shut off or rebooted. *In the above paragraph, that is any key EXCEPT "Fn". If you hit the Fn key to wake up the keyboard, it goes black again after a second. And if you try waking up the keyboard with combination Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 (dimmer or brighter) it just malfunctions. So don't do that. : P After figuring out how it operates while plugged-in, I'm really comfortable with that implementation and like it. Very good. The keyboard feel is absolutely great. The keystroke travel is a little longer than the recent chiclet fashion trend. I don't like those chiclet keyboardss at all. These on this K800, with more travel, I consider a big plus. Also, the keystroke travel gets a very solid bottom, not springy mushiness, without noise. As a bonus, this K800 comes with a usb extender cable for the wireless nano-receiver. I didn't find it necessary, but use it anyway. The usb port it supplies is very solid black plastic, and relatively small. I have it squirreled near an envelope tray on my desk, with the cable dropping down to the tower computer underneath the desk. It works out great.

How much can you say about a new wireless keyboard? For the Logitech K800, quite a lot! This is a nice keyboard and definitely a step up from the “norm”. Very simple to set up, it took just 2 minutes from removing it from the box to using it. Simply slide the supplied wireless USB receiver plug into your PC, turn on the wireless function, (on/off switch), on the top of the keyboard, the keys light up and away you go, ready to use. Very simple and pretty snazzy! You can’t miss something you’ve never had, and I’ve never had an illuminated keyboard before so it never even crossed my mind as being a need. However, after using this keyboard now for 10 days I wonder if I’ll ever be able to do without the illumination? It’s a great feature and I’ll recommend this to anyone. I use this keyboard in a fairly dimly lit office that also suffers with poor ambient light, and I have to say, it’s been an absolute blessing in that environment. A nice surprise that I wasn’t expecting was the auto motion sensor in the keyboard that senses when your hands are hovering over the key board, and this immediately turns on the backlight illumination across all the keys, and vice versa, when you remove your hands away from the keyboard the backlight dims to off very quickly. The keys remain visible but not illuminated while not in use. It also has brightness self sensing, adjusting its brightness to the current lighting environment, which is a nice feature and saves manually making that adjustment for varying conditions. The sensor turns off the backlight in about 3 seconds when it senses no activity of the keys, or no hovering hands, and therefore gives maximum battery conservation. The built in battery is also a plus and removes the need to mess with disposable batteries, and the keyboard comes with a charging cable that simply plugs into any USB port on your PC to re-charge, (perfect for overnight re-charging use), and there’s a low battery indicator on top of the keyboard next to the on/off switch. Battery life to date has been excellent; I’ve used the keyboard on and off over 10 days without a re-charge. Use of the “smart” keys, (FN Keys), is easy and straight forward for instant access to launching the web, music/media player, email, search engine, calculator and much more. This key board has a nice, slim, modern feel to it, predominantly black in color but with an eye catching white side flare around its inward slopping edges. It’s a very neat and tidy looking keyboard with an extended front palm rest, which is wider than a standard keyboard and gives it that more ergonomic feel and look. The illumination on a keyboard is now a must have, must stay feature for me. It makes everything else I’ve had or used seem a bit dated. Nice job Logitech! It’s a very nice product.

This is a great keyboard for anyone who is looking for both wireless and a backlit keyboard. It uses an internal battery and charges from your PC using a micro USB cable. So far I have left it in the ON position most of the time and the battery finally needed charging for the first time since I opened it (I didn't charge it right out of the box) after about two weeks. Outstanding battery life. The keyboard has secondary uses for the F keys that can be mapped to various shortcuts in the software. Pressing the FN key in addtion to one of the F keys will activate the secondary feature. There is also one dedicated shortcut key that defaults to the calculator but can also be mapped to something different. The feel of the keys is perfect. They have just the right amount of travel distance and provide a good tactile feedback. The backlighting is also very nice, it even detects when you hand is over the keyboard and turns on the backlighting which is a very handy feature. The USB stub reciver uses Logitech's latest technology which can connect up to 6 devices to the single reciver so you don't need to fill up your USB ports with a bunch of recivers. This is one of Logitech's premium keyboards and it shows. Wireless, backlighting and a perfect feel to the keys makes this a great option for someone looking for a high end wireless keyboard.

I have just ordered a custom build computer and wanted to get all new peripherals. I had spent an hour looking at keyboards and mice at Best Buy and had done a good bit of poking around online for reviews. I was not looking for a wireless keyboard but was intrigued by the fact that I could have a single receiver for both a keyboard and a Logitech wireless mouse. (They call this a ‘Unifying Receiver’) So I also got a Logitech M510 wireless laser mouse. I installed the receiver on the front of my computer and connect the mouse first. It was found right away and away I went. I next took the keyboard out and turned it on. Needed to ‘cycle’ the on off switch 2 times to get the receiver to see the keyboard but this must have been a first time thing as the unit has always connected right away since then. I do enjoy bringing a new product and setting it up with no muss and no fuss. Unit does have a USB cable for charging the batteries. At first I thought this was going to be a major hassle as I feel rechargeable’ s do not last as long but after getting everything organized it was all fine. (Logitech not only supplied a USB cable but also a USB extension cable. This allowed me to connect the cable to the back of the computer and route it with my speaker cables. I used the supplied Velcro cable ties to secure the keyboard end to the back of the right hand speaker with a ‘service loop’ that can reach the back of the keyboard. When not in use I just fold it back behind the speaker.) The keyboard itself is wonderful. The adjustable backlighting works as advertised and the programmable Function Keys are easily programmable (but you do need to download the keyboard and mouse management software from Logitech). I have years of using standard DELL keyboards and there has been some adjustment to slight layout difference between the units. I found the actions of the keys to be very nice but this can be very personal thing so I’d recommend going to the store to try them for yourself….I have used keyboards that one person would rave about only to find that I hated using it so always give it a try.

My main reason for wanting one of the illuminated keyboard is mostly out of necessity. During my early morning Tech news reading, Facebook page stalking and Twitter feed scanning, I enjoy doing it with my large cup of coffee in mostly a dark environment. Up to my late 30’s I really never had a problem seeing my keyboard in this dark environment. Since turning 40, and getting glasses I have noticed that even mid day I have been struggling to see the exact keys I am attempting to press. Our most recent laptop/ultrabook purchases have included back lit keyboards, which I originally thought was overkill, but soon embraced this feature as again, my site is failing…aging is so much fun!!! I researched some usb wired back lit keyboards and found them to be around $50 to $60, but they were hard to actually find, and I really didn't want to buy one without physically seeing it. So I turned to this one I found at Best Buy, It was actually an “Open Item”. It looked to not be the display unit, it still had cellophane on it’s surface and of course came with a full warranty. Most likely it was purchased and some one could not figure out how operate it, or did not like how it operated. It is a Logitech Unifying wireless keyboard, which means you can connect several Unified devices to the usb micro receiver. AT first, I really did not want another device that would consume batteries, especially with the back lighting. Then I found that it was rechargeable, with removable rechargeable AA batteries. It’s specs show that the batteries may last up to 10 days, and upon testing it, I discovered that I am able to charge it while using it. One of the great features of this keyboard, is it has proximity detectors that sense your hands as they approach it and activates the back lighting and then a few seconds after typing it deactivates the back lighting to conserve battery life. I have not had to charge it yet, and we are on day 9 of light daily use, and the battery gauge on it still suggests it is full. We will see how many days I get out of one charge. This keyboard does what it states, illuminates the letters on the keys, so these aging eyes cans see what these fingers are typing. Below is the list of pros and cons, my only con is that I have become comfortable with the chicklet layout of our laptops and ultrabooks and this is a conventional, layout. It really is not a show stopper, I have already gotten used to it. Pros: Easy to connect and use. Illuminates well. Rechargeable even when in use. Great responsiveness Quiet typing. Power Management using proximity detectors. Easily stores on its back edge. Cons: Not a chicklet layout. Clearance price of this unit was $84.99 marked down from $99.99

This keyboard is the only wireless keyboard I've ever used, and I like it. It comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB cable to charge the keyboard. It has to be recharged at least every 10 days and frequently more often than that, especially if you want very bright illumination. In fact, if you want the brightest illumination, you must keep the keyboard plugged into the computer constantly, otherwise the batteries will drain in like 10 minutes. This keyboard is not for someone who wants the keyboard to be constantly illuminated. Because it's wireless, the illuminated keys will self-extinguish if you move your hands away from the keyboard for more than 5 seconds. If you want a keyboard that is always illuminated I recommend you buy a wired illuminated keyboard instead of a wireless keyboard. The keys are recessed into the keyboard giving the keyboard a low profile, but also making it extremely difficult to find some rarely used keys by feel, like the Esc key. I really, really, REALLY like the sound that the keys make when you press them, it is very quiet and even sort of soothing. Those of you who have typed on an old keyboard that makes a popping noise when you press the keys will really appreciate the quiet of this keyboard. This keyboard currently retails for $100. There is no way I would spend that much on it again because I'm learning that if you know how to type, the main purpose of an illuminated keyboard is for cosmetic purpose and for only a few dollars more than this keyboard's MSRP you can get a fancy, albeit wired, gaming keyboard that allows you to change the keyboard's colors and has other flashy features and allows the keyboard to be illuminated at all times. Conclusion, this keyboard is very nice but don't buy it if you want a keyboard that stays illuminated 24/7, and if you're already a proficient typist, you will rarely, if ever, need illuminated keys.

When I received the Logitech K800 wireless keyboard, I figured great, how does one review a keyboard? In my opinion, they're all pretty much the same. However, the Logitech K800 has several features that set it aside from other keyboards. Initially, I was impressed by the backlit keys. I didn't think that it would be a feature that made much of a difference to me, until I used it for awhile. I have this keyboard paired with my media PC. Generally, this PC never leaves WMC. Occasionally though, I do use this PC for photo editing and writing important documents because of the 46" screen. The backlighting makes it much easier to see what it is you are pressing when it comes to the function keys. Another great aspect of it is the ergonomic form and the light touch of the keys when typing. I spend many hours a day on a computer and thus Carpel Tunnel has taken its toll. With this keyboard, it minimized the need for corrected positioning because of its great design and easily pressed keys. One of the best aspects of this product is the rechargeable battery. These days, almost everything is powered by either USB or disposable battery. It was refreshing to have a product that doesn't require me to run to the store in the middle of an important term paper, because my batteries went dead (as they inevitably do whenever something very important needs to be typed up). One thing I would like to see, it one universal adapter for every wireless Logitech product. I have a Logitech Mini keyboard/mouse, and it has bluetooth connectivity. It would have been nice not to have 2 separate wireless adapters. Other than that small criticism, i have no other problems with the keyboard. In conclusion, I would definitely suggest this product to anybody who wishes not to be tethered to their computer by USB, and wishes to avoid those inevitable midnight battery runs.

I replaced a ten year old wireless keyboard and mouse combination with this keyboard (bought a separate mouse) and I am impressed. I wanted a wireless backlit keyboard and there really aren't a tremendous amount of choices. Based on reviews, this was my choice. I could not be happier. My old keyboard was ergonomic (supposedly) with the keys angled in. This standard and it really makes no difference. What does make a difference -- a big difference -- is the tactile action of the keys. Clicking these keys has a great and almost effortless feel. I haven't done a timed test, but I'd guess I'm easily tying 15 - 20% faster. The backlight is great with adjustable brightness. Not only that, it turns off in a few seconds, but unlike my laptop, I don't have to press a key or touchpad to get them to reilluminate. All you have to do is to wave your hand over the keyboard and they relight. Really nice. Since there's an ON/OFF switch, you can really conserve battery power. Oh, it's a very low profile, so if its on a sliding tray, it will easily store when you slide the tray back in. In my old keyboard, I had to fold down the legs on the back before storage. This one can be stored without having to pick up the keyboard and fold down the legs. For me, this is a genuine 5 star product. I've only had it a month, but so far I have zero negatives,

This is an excellent keyboard that fills several needs on the market. It has quiet, gentle and BACKLIT keys! Rechargeable internal batteries ARE included. Yes this is a cordless keyboard that lights up! It is ideal for laptop and notebook users who complain about the size of their keyboards. It is great for use on a standard PC and has large letters for people who may have a hard time seeing. It has excellent response time and seems to function well in the same room with other wireless devices. The battery life seems to be good after the initial charge. It is on par with my wired gaming keyboard for response time. The keyboard senses motion over the keys before you touch it. This is very nice feature that saves on the battery. I had no problem installing it on several systems without the need for drivers. I installed it on an old laptop with Windows XP and on several other systems up to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The drivers are probably best if you just download them from Logitech’s website. The ones that come with it are also serviceable. After several days of continuous use there were no complaints or failures. The battery life is more than adequate for normal computer use. Gamers may want to run with the cord installed or at least make sure it is on charge when not in use. I charged it and left it for 4 days and it retained the charge so it will be fine in the office for a weekend. My only complaint is that it comes with a wire that uses a USB port that is there for the sole purpose of charging the battery. It doesn’t allow for wired use so if you are running short on USB ports you may have to wait or remove another device while it charges. This is a very small complaint as most computers have ports to spare.

I was specifically looking for an illuminated keyboard. This one fit the bill and seemed the best choice for the price of those I reviewed and had the fewest negative reviews. I chose to change the function keys for the special functions (i.e., e-mail, home, search, files, etc.) rather than using the FN key and the specific function key to perform these special functions. So far that has worked best for me. I like the ability to turn the keyboard off via a switch in order to help save the battery life of the keyboard. However, most of the time I forget to do this and so far the original batteries are still working. The software that came with the keyboard (and mouse that I bought with it), recognized the mouse, but didn't recognize the keyboard. Had to go to the Logitech website to figure out how to update the software so that it recognized the keyboard AND the mouse. No big deal. BEST of all, I LOVE the feel of the keys. Best of any keyboard I've ever used. The unifying USB device is tiny. Barely sticks beyond the PC USB port. Be sure to use one that you have full access to. I first picked on toward the edge of the PC. When I decided to move it to another port, it was difficult to pull it out, but only because I had difficulty getting two fingers around the device to pull it out of the plug. However, when placed in another plug with plenty of room around it, there has been no problem at all. My previous keyboard had larger DEL, INS, HOME, END, Page UP and Page Down keys. So there has been some adjustment to the same keys on this keyboard, which are smaller. But not a big deal for me.

    A Great Keyboard

This is one of the better keyboards that I have used and just so much better than the standard keyboards that comes packaged with most computers. The keyboard comes with a unifying usb receiver and a charging cable for charging the keyboard. With moderate use and the regular backlit key settings, I usually get 2 to 3 weeks of typing before needing to recharge the batteries. This is the wireless version of the similarly designed Logitech K740 which is the wired sibling of this version, and for those who do not want or need a wireless keyboard or have to worry battery life, I would highly recommend the cheaper K740 which is basically the same keyboard. The Logitech "perfect stroke" key set makes this keyboard enjoyable to type on and aside from mechanical keyboards which are pricier, this keyboard is very nice to type on compared to other keyboards. As for the design, I really like the design of the keyboard, it is very slim and modern looking and more curved compared to the K740 which has sharper edges. The back lit keys which turn on with a feature that detects your hands are a plus. The software allows you to disable back light which will increase the battery life. Being wireless, it gives you more freedom, allowing you to move the keyboard away from your workspace or move it around in general without being restricted by wires. Overall this is a great keyboard.

I am a software engineer and I'm at my desk close to 12 hours a day hence every product I use has to meet my needs perfectly. I had been using the k740 for years and my last one finally broke (I kept spares) I had no choice but to reevaluate since it is discontinued. Many in my team use mechanical keyboards so I tried very hard to like the feel and sound but every one had some quirks that annoyed me. Activation depth and pressure is way too much, and the clicking, God the clicking, even the silent ones with o-rings added still made a ton of noise. Add to that the spacing on most way 2x greater and most caps had very sharp edges on the keys which throws off my finger movement I then searched for different brands to see what they had to offer and some were very nice but again i ran into issues with noise, key spacing, activation location and missed presses. I tend to slide a bit from key to key instead of peck so the distance between keys and any obstacles such as square keys or sharp edges don't work for me. So I bit the bullet and went for the k800. Overall I am very impressed. The build is slightly better than the k740, they slope of the keys feel a bit different but not bad by any means. The battery holds its charge very well even with extended use. Pressure and activation depth are perfect. The only issue I have is with the design of the feet. If you push your keyboard forward to get it out of your way for a minute the feet collapse. Solution, I now pick the keyboard up instead lol

I was concerned that with the Higher than normal price this Keyboard, that I would get it and feel like a made a mistake, but I am very pleased with my purchase. I got it at the Sale price of 69.99, ( I was Really struggling with paying that much..... ) This is a great keyboard, if your main desire is a Backlit keyboard. It has a sensor ( little dot that's in the upper right ) that can tell movement , and that makes the keyboard lights wake up from sleep (save battery status ) Pros: Backlit Keyboard, that can be turned off / and has different levels of brightness. Wireless Keyboard ( you do have to charge it like a cell phone, but how else would you power a wireless device... ) The Lights Turn off to save battery when you hands are not near keyboard.... Runs with just putting in the USB, and turning on keyboard, I did Not have to Install 'SETPOINT' Software /// ( setpoint software from Logitech causes Pinterest to crash IE 11 at least it does for me.... ) Cons: The Price, I would feel I make a good Money Choice, if was around $30 to $40, but the Sale price made me feel .... ok ..... / no correct that, Honestly anything above $50 for a keyboard is a Ripoff to me, but I know that you get what you pay for, and if I would've went cheap for exact features, then I wouldn't have a good working product.... Buy this if you can afford it! Great Backlit / wireless keyboard

I recently purchase Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard at sale price. I think its one of the best keyboard a ever owned. I recently couple logitech keyboard in the past including MX series. But most keyboard are not backlit keys, unless you get gaming G series which I am not a gamer. This perfect for average user without all other extra functions. This keyboard is Wireless, Rechargeable battery, Laser-etched, backlit keys that are bright enough to let you type in the dark. with 4 levels of light illumination from low to super bright backlit. The package includes Wireless illuminated keyboard, nano receiver, usb cable and usb cable dock with manuals. Pros: Adjustable 4 level of brightness. ( Hand proximity detection) Built in sensor within few seconds the keyboard not use it will automatically turn off lighted keys to conserve battery and when it use just wave you hand on keyboard and keys will light back up. Fast, easy recharging feature: Battery life is also very good on moderate use and I can be use with usb to my pc to charge keyboard while in use. Cons: None on the keyboard, maybe pricey for this model.

I have to say, after having had this wireless keyboard for a long time now, it is one of the best that I've used. I did a lot of research before purchasing this as I had specifics of what I wanted out of the keyboard. I wanted a wireless, backlit, accurate typing experience from the keyboard. I also was willing to pay a little more for such, but not where it would completely bleed the bank account. However, I knew for good quality that will last, it would initially be a little more than your standard keyboard. Having said that, in finding the Logitech wireless illuminated keyboard K800, I felt all the details matched up and I made the decision to get it. As I initially mentioned, I have loved the thing. The battery lasts long between charges, has accurate typing of keys that even as the battery is starting to go, I don't notice much of an issue with. Love the backlit feature when you go to press a key even in dim light. Has a well made feel to it, but not too heavy. Can use even with tablets if you can plug the usb wireless dongle to communicate, as I've used it even with an iPad. Also can use if you have a supported wireless mouse as it can free up one of the usb pours on your computer. So an excellent buy if you decide to purchase that I can't praise enough!
