Yes, it's powerful, but seriously, look at a bunch of reviews and benchmarks to make sure that you really need it. As a music producer, I could have easily gotten away with using a 16gb Mac Mini for half the price, but I plan on doing a lot of video editing later and that's where the extra power of the Studio will come in handy.

Love this machine! This was the perfect solution for me to have a streaming computer with 3 monitors. The computer is fast and has a small footprint

Best investment I’ve made in years. I was using an hp laptop to create music for about 5 years and upgraded to the Mac Studio. An amazing piece of equipment. No lagging or buffering issues even with multiple open tabs and a bunch of plugins running if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Best part is even though it’s not a laptop it’s compact enough to go where I go.

This was an awesome computer for the price. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Everything is fast, no overheating issues, OS and fantastic. This makes for good work and gaming. I’ve had no issues and it’s compatible with steam! Don’t sleep on this computer for a gaming console!

I love mac OS but even with the m1 max config, I was expecting better performance for the money. I guess I’m just not ready to work on an arm platform. It bothered me to see so much swap memory used on the regular. Performance takes a hit when driving a 4k monitor (as opposed to 1440 or 5k, due to scaling). For about the same price ($2150 I was able to get an i9-12900kh/3070i that gives me better performance and I was able to drop in 64gb ram for half the price that apple charges for the upgrade ($220 vs $400). I wish i could have justified the $4k for the studio ultra but thats just crazy money right there. All that aside, i love the apple ecosystem and I’m going to miss it a little I’m sure.

Amazing performance in such beautiful form. Bought this to use for music production as an upgrade from an M1 Mac Mini. Blew it out of the water with how much more it can handle. Love the amount of ports available.

Blown away by what this thing can handle. I was a little skeptical of buying the Mac Studio BEFORE M2 was released. But I have not been disappointed at all. Very fast and handles all the programs we throw at it while utilizing a monitor AND a 14 ft x 6 ft LED Wall AND live-streaming. If you have a church, studio, or other software and hardware intensive setting, get a Studio

OMG this thing screams! I do a bunch of work with audio, and the M1 MAX CHIP just screams... and does everything faster! This is a great desktop console, get it, and let it show you just what it can do. The M2 is good, M3 is on way, but you won't go wrong with this for the price, and if you've got great PC monitors, etc, this is PERFECT for them!

This little desktop is a beast. I'm doing 4k full length video editing and it's a breeze. I purchased this to replace my 2017 MacBook Pro with i7 chip. I would say that video transcoding is at least 2-3x faster.

I purchased the M1 Mac Mini for my wife for her video editing and production as an upgrade from her Intel based i9 Mac Pro laptop. I knew that I would need to upgrade her equipment due to the type of work she was doing. I did some research and discovered the MacStudio. The MacStudio is often compared to the M2 MacMini. Despite the additional cost of the M1 Max MacStudio, I have found for our use case this is the better option for her workflow, in addition to the comfort of knowing that I would not need to purchase another computer in the near future. The M1 Max MacStudio is perfect for our needs and was a worthy upgrade from my previous system.

very quiet compared to typical noisy pcs. excellent choice if one is looking a very quiet computer. previously owned M1 Mac mini (8G RAM) and upgraded to this computer. for heavy gpu work, it is ideally suited but for almost all other work I find M1 Mac mini with 16G Ram would be sufficient.

Very good computer. If you are starting to have a design or video editing studio, it is a good machine to start in case you are not interested in windows. The base model has a good performance, the only thing that one sacrifices is the storage but it is something that is manageable.

An amazing powerhouse of a computer. Absolutely beautiful to look at and a dream computer that is the perfect size and its ease of use is simply unmatched. My only gripe was the lack of 120hz support on the expensive device which is a deal breaker for me.

This is a beast of a machine … it was in 2022 and it is still going strong. It’s an Apple with its first M1 chip and it still blazes fast. Best but made it easy to purchase with their many programs and made it a no brainer at the time. Now I need more space … should’ve thought about it then but oh well … Best Buy to the rescue again!

$4000 for near-Mac Pro performance? Do your research. At the moment, M1 fully optimized programs are few and far between. So when you're about to spend this much money, make sure the programs you're using can utilize what Apple boasts under the hood. At launch, the Ultra variant claimed to smash 3D applications, but Blender, Maya, and especially Unreal Engine don't match performance with PC's from as much as 4 years ago. The ONLY use case I can personally recommend the Ultra variant is for those editors who use Davinci Resolve. The performance boost in timeline playback truly does rival 3090 performance. And that's only because Blackmagic was is currently even more optimized for video editing/color grading than Final Cut Pro.

This computer is great for power. However i'd go with the Macbook Pro for more portability. This one does have more ports though. At the end of the day do you want more ports or portability and display built in.
