My 11 year old MacBook Air hadn’t died yet, but I was concerned about how difficult it might be to start all over on a new one… if I waited until it didn’t work anymore. I heard that it wasn’t as simple as an IOS devise (iPhone, iPad). I’ve had old phones completely die, and then get a new one and easily moved everything from iCloud. When I saw how cheap the new ones were ($899 on sale at Best Buy vs $1299 when I bought my last one 11 years ago) I decided it was time (actually, it was easy. The new mac walked me through transferring my preferences, apps, documents, etc. from the old Mac via a peer to peer on my home WI-FI). I was sold on the flash storage on the old MacBook Air (vs the slower, but larger mechanical hard disks), but the larger flash storage combined with Apple’s new M1 chips are absolutely AMAZING! This thing is INSTANT ON! The retina display is a great improvement too! Apparently, the new M1 chip runs so efficiently that the battery seems to last forever. Plus, they dissipate heat through metal to completely eliminate the need for a fan (I don’t miss the fan noise and the slowdown I used to get when the computer was doing a lot of work). They made the outside dimensions smaller without really changing much for the user. The screen size is the same 13” but has less metal around it. Somehow... it still seems strong. The trackpad is larger too. I should try to find something negative to say as well. I miss the tradition “look” of the lighted logo, but I read that they removed it for good reason (but, that actually did more for Apple than for me). There appears to be a problem with sharing high resolution YouTube videos on my Apple TV. It changes the resolution on my computer and shrinks everything… including the text and buttons down to the point that I have to go get a magnifying glass to see or read anything at all... and return the resolution to the normal usable setting. I'm pretty sure that there will be a software fix in a future update to address this issue. Other than the Apple TV issue, almost everything about this MacBook Air is better… and by a LOT! It’s a heck of a deal!

Never I have seen a MacBook behave in this crazy way! All of a sudden, my Mac Air just stopped working. There was a small pop sound and a bad smell from the system. Had to leave the house. it is not turning after. Worst ever performance from a Mac.

I have had this laptop for 2 years now and I can still say with total confidence that it's a good buy in 2023. This laptop will last the average person until 2030 if not longer. That's a ridiculous value for the total cost of ownership, so all that's left for you to decide is this: Is this laptop capable of doing everything you need it to do? Even though it's 2 years old and the lowest spec'd and cheapest laptop Apple currently sells, I think for 99% of people the answer is YES! The M1 chip is up to some crazy witchcraft. That's the only way to explain how the battery lasts so long, how the computer is so fast, and how portable it is. Don't worry about the 8GB memory, it's enough for almost everyone. Storage might be a different story. If you need more than 256GB, I highly recommend buying a portable SSD. It's way more cost effective than upgrading the internal storage. Compared to Windows laptops that cost the same, this computer is remarkably premium. The display is excellent, the keyboard and trackpad are some of the best in any laptop ever, and even the speakers are pretty good. The all aluminum construction is very durable and looks great. There are better laptops on the market but they all cost significantly more than this one. If you are not playing a lot of new video games and you don't need to use applications that only work on Windows, and you don't need a bigger screen (or a touchscreen), this is probably the right laptop for you.

This is my first Mac after being a Windows user for life! It’s been a pretty seamless transition after the initial shock passes. Everything is so easy and I love how the whole ecosystem ties into my iPhone and other Apple products. MacBook has a super high quality build, powerful, fast, lightweight, great battery life, and stylish. Scored an amazing deal thanks to Best Buy sale and student discount. I’m a happy shopper!

Okay, so I've owned this laptop going on two years now and let me just say that it's been the best two years ever. Coming from an HP which was 15 inches, extremely heavy for toting around, and slow, this MacBook checks all of those issues off easily. I thought the 13 inch would be too small but it's perfect and Im never going back. Between it being lightweight, holding a long charge, and being very quick to responding, I have no complaints. With the new macOS Sonoma update it's just gotten even better and I hope to have it for years to come. Just a few things: Firstly, it's extremely quiet. Again, coming from an HP that used to overheat and have an extremely loud fan, I forget that the MacBook is even actually on if I step away for a minute. Secondly, the display is great! Between watching a YouTube video, being on FaceTime, or on zoom, this things looks amazing at all times. Lastly, the features it comes with are awesome and make using the laptop even better. Being able to be connected to my phone, seeing messages, notes, reminders, etc is very useful. Overall, I have no complaints and I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a new one.

    Beautiful And Amazing Laptop

Let me start by stating that I am not an Apple fanboy. I have to use Apple products at work and did not like them. The new MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop with the Apple M1 chip has changed my mind where a laptop is concerned. The build quality of this laptop is amazing and beautiful. The exterior design with a satin-smooth finish and industrial look are very premium. The Space Grey color is gorgeous and does not show fingerprints. I am not great at typing, but this keyboard is a pleasure to type on with a decent amount of travel and a pleasant click to the keys. I can work on the laptop for hours without any issue. That said, the battery life of the MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop lasts all day for me. I have only had a couple of times where I needed to attach the charger before I returned home. I do wish that there was a USB charging port on either side of the laptop but can live with it only being on the left side. I am not a power user, but from simple word processing to video editing this machine blows through any task that I have thrown at it. It has not gotten warm on my lap and cannot believe that it does not have a fan. No matter what I do it does not heat up and there is no noise from fans. Amazing! It truly is a pleasure to use this laptop. I tried connecting the laptop to the two external monitors I have, but it only works with one. I have not been able to find a way to make this work. I could see this being an issue for anyone wanting to use two monitors. You can use the laptop and an external, but that is not the same. If you like the Apple experience, this would be a no-brainer purchase. If you don't know if you would like an Apple laptop, I would suggest visiting a store and to try typing on one. I would recommend the MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop with the M1 chip to anyone.

I just replaced my 7-year-old MacBook Air, and I couldn't be happier. I got the rose gold one, and it is so pretty. Pros: The battery is so much better than my previous Air. The speed is also greatly improved. And I love how lightweight it is. I also didn't notice it at first, but I recently realized there is no fan noise. Loving that! Cons: The only cons, so far, are the ports. I knew they were different from my previous Air when I purchased it, but it is a bit of a downer.

The first young man was but the tech specialist and the young lady in charge where very nasty and not helpful. I returned it at the Desham MA store. I never want to go in there again. The MacBook Air is a perfect light computing device. The battery lasts for days, the CPU never gets hot, there's no fan so it is silent, the display is one of the best you can buy, the keyboard is one of the best laptop keyboards, and the performance is amazing. A note about performance. I have a couple computers: the entry level MacBook Air -- 8 GB of RAM and the 256 GB SSD and a desktop with a Ryzen 5900X and 64 GB of RAM with a 1 TB NVMe drive with a 2000 MB/s write speed. That is not as fast as the SSD in the MacBook Air but it's not slow. For 3D printing, I use PrusaSlicer. On the Mac, a relatively simple but large model took 2.3 seconds to slice. On my Ryzen 5900X, it took 3.1 seconds. That's not a huge difference but the Ryzen processor costs nearly as much as I paid for the MacBook Air. I only got the MacBook Air to use for mostly light tasks but the fact that it performs well above its entry-level class is a huge bonus. This entry level computer can, in many tasks, keep up and even surpass high-end processors. Now, there are many things I can do faster with the Ryzen 9 (e.g., something that can make use of all 24 threads) but with this an entry-level laptop, Apple hit a home run. I'm never going back to Windows-based laptops.

This is my go to laptop when I travel. It is light, super fast, 10 hours battery life, and it just works (Mac). The keyboard is a joy to type on, and I didn't realize the M1 allows almost instant on. I turn to my Mac more than my iPad Pro, even to watch things. I would rather get the Air than the M1 pro, because fanless.

This laptop is pretty cool. there's a noticeable difference in the speed between my Samsung Chromebook with an i3 intel core vs this M1 chip. The retina display is vivid and reallyyyyy good quality. The Samsung has a specific screen for security reasons, so that when you tilt your screen backwards, people on either side of you can't see your screen. This laptop's (not Chromebook) multitasking is superb. able to handle many** different functions AT ONCE, which is important for me since I'm constantly switching through tabs and tasks. The connectivity(to a server), response to tap/click-time, display, SPEAKERS(amazing, for some reason Samsung thought it was smart to put speakers on the bottom part of the laptop) !! The only thing I wish I could change is the size of the laptop. It's really small compared to my other laptop, which was about 16 inches. it had more than enough space for my wrists to rest while I types. The force click touchpad is outdated apple :p sensory click is the new in. If this MacBook had a Touch Bar I'd be even more in love with it. I'm happy I got this, the backlit keyboard is helpful at night when you don't want to turn the lights on. overall extremely satisfied. Only thing that sucks is almost every app costs money, unlike the iPhone. Cool learning tools made specifically for Mac . :) the slate style is nice and minimalistic, sleek, business-like. It's cool that it's really light. so tiny you could lose it :p

Owning a MacBook Air 13.3" laptop is like having a secret love affair with technology. It's whisper-thin, dangerously light, and makes you feel giddy every time you open it. It's the kind of laptop that makes you want to strut into Starbucks like you own the place, even if you're just there for the free Wi-Fi. And let's not forget about its battery life! It lasts longer than most relationships these days! But in all seriousness from its razor-thin design to its vibrant Retina display, every aspect screams sophistication. 100/10 would definitely recommend and for the price and financing with Best Buy you just can’t beat it.

I've had a Macbook Pro since 2009 and finally decided to upgrade since the old one is now only really capable of accessing email and files. I love this new model! The sleek design is great. I wish it had a real USB port but I bought an adapter that I haven't even needed to use yet. It's fast, quiet, the battery lasts forever, the sound quality is excellent.

I recently got my hands on the MacBook Air 13 M1, and let me tell you, it's a total game-changer! The M1 chip is a beast – everything's crazy fast, from video editing to juggling a dozen apps at once. No fan noise, and it stays cool even when I'm pushing it hard. The Retina display is stunning, with vivid colors and True Tone making everything look gorgeous. Plus, it's so darn lightweight and slim that I carry it everywhere without even noticing. The battery life is no joke – all-day power for my non-stop hustle. The Magic Keyboard is comfy, and Touch ID adds a cool security touch. The MacBook Air has always been a light and easily portable choice for Mac users. The “Late 2020” model is all that, but lighter, thinner, and even easier to use. Based on Apple’s new M1 CPU, this generation of Macs is very different from the prior generations of Intel-based computers. The M1 MacBook Air has 8GB of “shared memory,” but where that might be a limitation in an Intel Mac, it’s definitely more than enough for this machine! This MacBook Air model is fast, responsive, and really easy to use. It has only two ports: two USB4/Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports for charging and any peripherals you might need. We bought a USB-C hub to allow the use of a USB-3 external drive for Time Machine backups, watching movies with an external DVD drive and so on. Sure, you could do those things wirelessly (including watching digital versions of those movies), but we wanted to avoid wireless bandwidth bottlenecks. Finally, the MacBook/MacBook Air line has evolved from a plain aluminum case (gorgeous, but kind of bland nowadays) to aluminum or Space Gray, to finally adding a gold option. Since it’s my wife’s primary computer (and a late Christmas present), we went with gold. ;)

This base-model MacBook Air is really a great machine. I am not an Apple person, and the last Apple device I have owned was a 2009 Ipod Shuffle. I've been using Windows for the better part of the last 30 years and this is my first Mac OS computer, but getting used to the OS differences thus far hasn't been that big of a deal. For general tasks, my Air seems as fast and sometimes faster than my heavy Windows gaming laptop with an54 watt 8-core Ryzen 4800H chip and it runs Chrome better than my Chromebook (m3 Pixelbook Go that I will now give to my mother). I really like the aspect ratio of the display and the trackpad is the best that I've used. I prefer the keyboard on my work Lenovo X1 carbon and I think I even prefer the Pixelbook Go's keyboard to the Air's, or at least I still type faster on those machines, but the AIr's is still very good. I do occasionally miss having a touch screen - generally for scrolling webpages, using calculator apps - but no big deal. More ports, or at least having one on each side, would be nice but hasn't proven terribly limiting in my use-case. Battery life is phenomenal. No regrets here and very glad Apple is shaking things up with the new silicon.
