Very snappy laptop with the new M1 chip - I can have 20+ tabs opened in my browser without feeling any slowdown at all. Battery life is also very impressive - I can leave the laptop unplugged and it literally does last 10 hours with general use - none of my Windows laptops can last that long. The only downside that I've experienced so far is that bluetooth connection with my mouse would freeze for a few seconds every once in a while - I've tried two bluetooth mouses already and they both exhibited the same symptoms, but I don't have that problem when connecting the same mouses to my other Windows laptop via bluetooth. Not sure if this is a known issue with the MBA's or if it's just my laptop. Apart from this nuisance, I'm very happy with this laptop.

Great for standard office work, emails, documents, etc. Probably not your best machine for encoding and gaming, although I've experienced minimal perceivable latency for daily tasks. At a great price right now, especially if you're already initiated into the Apple ecosystem… Stylish design but of course it's not the most rugged, don't trust it for a moment to withstand falls or impacts without cases or screen protectors. If you need an Apple computer and you're not concerned by an "entry-level" chipset,
et voilà.

Easy to use and navigate. Not heavy unlike other laptop. Screen is clear and user friendly. I did not have a hard time transitioning from other brand to apple laptop. You can bring it anywhere without a hustle. I am glad I bought and is using apple products now. Speed is superb and battery lasts a long time.

I love it! The M1 chip's performance is impressive, breezing through tasks effortlessly. The display is stunning, perfect for work or entertainment. Its portability and excellent battery life make it a reliable. The limited ports might need a workaround for some users, but overall, it's a fantastic choice for everyday use or professional needs.

So far I'm really happy with this little laptop. Oh, It's extremely over hyped by Youtubers beyond belief. For regular buyers, expect that it will operate and update like it should with little fuss, and demonstrate excellent battery life. It
outperformss my older Dell XPS 13 for daily use in every measure. I only wish it had more ports and looked more modern instead of the 4 plus year old design it's flashing. Compatibility has been good but not perfect with non-optimized M1 apps but that's to be expected. I think translation has been working remarkably well so far. The biggest gripe with this machine is how unupgradeable it is, and that it loses bluetooth connection with my keyboard and mouse constantly. I literally sit and watch the bluetooth connection blink on and off in my preferences as I'm working, it's unacceptably unstable.

This is my first macbook and I really love it, its worth the price.. been wanting to purchase it for a long time until i sold my nikon dslr camera, just added a couple of hundreds and was able to get this one. The storage capacity, portability and the battery life were all great plus there's no fan on it, you can't hear any noise which kind a bothers me in my previous laptop. It doesn't warm on the bottom surface even i used it the whole day. Got it on sale also so it saves me some money there.

Bought this for my daughter entering college. Easy to use. Lightweight. Great overall computer. We are 1 year into using it and it still runs like it did when we first bought it.
Love this purchase. Buying the newest model for the next daughter. When the 3rd starts college, she will get the same computer.

It has excellent battery life, plus you can have so many tabs open and it won’t crash. The most it’ll do is notify you to take off some of those tabs. The camera quality isn’t that great, but as a college student I’m not really interested in the pixels that it has. The microphone is also good no complaints there. Lastly I’ve seen so many people with this MacBook, if your a college student I highly recommend.

This is my first Mac book and I really like it. It’s fast, lightweight, Ann’s great battery life. The only think I would say is bad is the camera quality is not very good. If I had to purchase again I would. I love my Mac.

The best MacBook I've ever owned

The best MacBook I've ever owned. Hands down. Longest battery life, all my apps were compatible (something I was worried about because of the M1 chip). The color is really great and I get compliments all the time.
If you're a student and need a basic laptop for writing papers, browsing the web, or even watching YouTube - this is it. You don't even need to bring your charger to school! I purchased a USB-C adapter so I could connect a monitor and a USB webcam, and it has been perfect. I could see how needing to connect more devices might be kind of cumbersome because not every device is compatible with USB-C yet, but for basic use, it's just fine and I don't miss the extra ports.

Superb as always from Apple and MacBook. It is light and works perfectly everyday I use it which is most. Quality build and feel yet so slim it is hard to believe how it can be so fast on my home WiFi. Excellent purchase.

Mine is replacing my 2015, 15” i7/16GB/1TB which is still running well - but my son has more of a need for the I/O options than speed.
And it’s amazingly fast still today but Wow! This little Air weighs nothing - holds the apps (Adobe CC/MS/Dropbox) necessary…
With their storage or folder is a 2TB Samsung T7. I bought the $849/$899 model and the performance is stunning, even using Rosetta, it’s incredibly quick to launch, find, edit, and anything else I throw at it - and never seems to run out of battery lol
I bought as a stop gap as mentioned, for my son and as a holdover as I wait out the new 16” MacBook Pro announcements later this year
Not so sure I need to (it’s the fastest stopgap I have ever seen!)

Overall, I highly recommend the MacBook Air for most people, especially for those in the Apple ecosystem.
Pros: M1 is amazing. Compared to the Intel i5 in my 2015 MacBook Pro, this processor is completely transformative. It's incredibly snappy, has instant-on from wake, far better efficiency and battery life. It's very thin and light. The keyboard is great. Touch ID is a nice feature.
Cons: Only 8 GB ram. The 16 GB version would be a worthwhile upgrade, but it isn't available from BB. The screen is a little disappointing. The contrast at low brightness levels is slightly worse than my 2015 MacBook Pro. It would be nice if it had MagSafe and an HDMI port.

I needed a new laptop for school because my old Windows computer was so slow and buggy. I could hardly work on it because I would have to wait forever for it to load. I love Apple products. I already have an iPhone and iPad. After playing around on my mom's, I bought this MacBook, which is the same model. I love how light it is and how functional. It amazes me how tiny it is! The only downsides are that it has only two USB-C ports and no optical drive. I still love the computer, and I am so glad I bought it.

This is a fantastic laptop. Battery lasts forever, processing power is amazing, screen looks great, and it never gets hot. If you are thinking of switching from PC to Mac and need a laptop this is the one to get. If you don't need portability the M1 Mac Mini is the best option.
Only draw backs with this MacBook Air are it only has 2 USB C ports and one needs to be used for the charger. Also, this only supports one external display so if you have dual monitors you'll need to step up to the M1 Pro MacBook Pro to get more than one external display or you can just use the one external display and the screen on the Air as your second display.
