Pros:
* Impressive Performance: The Apple M1 chip continues to shine, offering remarkable speed and responsiveness in everyday tasks, from web browsing to content creation. Apps open in a snap, and multitasking is a breeze.
* Silent and Cool Operation: The fanless design ensures your MacBook Air operates silently and remains cool even under moderate workloads, contributing to a comfortable and distraction-free user experience.
* Excellent Battery Life: After 4 months of use, the MacBook Air still delivers exceptional battery life, easily lasting through a full day of work or entertainment without needing to recharge.
* Sleek Design: The slim, lightweight design and Space Gray finish exude a premium look and feel. It's a stylish and portable companion for any setting.
* Retina Display: The 13.3" Retina display continues to impress with sharp visuals and vibrant colors, making it enjoyable for both work and entertainment.
* Rosetta 2 Compatibility: Most apps not natively designed for the M1 chip run seamlessly through Rosetta 2, so you won't face compatibility issues with your favorite software.
Cons:
* Limited RAM: The 8GB of RAM can be somewhat limiting for power users or those who run memory-intensive applications. Consider upgrading to 16GB if your work demands it.
* Storage Space: The 256GB SSD might feel constrictive if you deal with large files or a substantial media library. Managing storage space and utilizing external drives may be necessary.
* USB-C Ports Only: The MacBook Air offers only two USB-C ports, and you'll likely need dongles or a dock for connecting older USB-A devices, HDMI, or SD cards. It can be inconvenient for some users.
* Non-Upgradeable: Just like its predecessors, this MacBook Air model has soldered components, which means you can't upgrade the RAM or storage after purchase. It's essential to choose the right configuration from the start.
* Lack of Dedicated Graphics: While the integrated GPU is capable for most tasks, those needing high-end graphics for gaming or specialized work might find it lacking.
* Price Tag: Apple's products have always been on the premium side, and this MacBook Air is no exception. The cost can be a barrier for budget-conscious buyers.
In conclusion, the MacBook Air with the Apple M1 chip remains a strong choice for users seeking a powerful and portable laptop. After 4 months of use, it continues to impress with its performance and battery life. However, the limited RAM and storage, along with the reliance on USB-C ports, might not be suitable for everyone. Consider your specific needs and budget before making a purchase.

Best Buy is great place to shop for electronics items I’ve been shopping for with Best Buy for last 5 years I love it every time i buy something great customer service.
I brought MacBook Air M1 long lasting battery life & charges quickly, great screen quality for any kind of content , the screen is amazing, Touch ID is useful in many ways like Apple Pay/signing in, the laptop is fairly light, keyboard is awesome (it does have a click sound when you type), the trackpad is better and more useful, and much more!
Great laptop and is great for college students like me!
Cons: THE PRICE lol, no Microsoft office installed(you need to buy separately, you GOT TO buy a sleeve or case since this is a scratch magnet, the speakers are not so great(bass is like fuzzy) , the camera quality is 2/5(blurry and just not great), and the ports(there are only 2 on the left side and on the right side, there is the headphone jack. It is kind of annoying that you have to use one side for charging. Other than that, it's very reliable, lasting, stylish, and overall a great buy for an upgrade or a new selection! This was my first apple MacBook and I primarily got it since I need a reliable laptop for college.

This MacBook Air with the M1 chip blew me away. It’s incredibly fast for everything I need—web browsing, streaming, schoolwork, and even some light photo editing. The fanless design means it runs silently, and the battery life is amazing—I easily get over 12 hours on a charge. The Retina display is sharp and vibrant, and it’s super lightweight for carrying around.

This Laptop Doesn’t Even Try—and Still Wins

I bought the M1 MacBook Air thinking, “Okay, I just need something light and fast.” What I got was a machine that casually sips battery for hours like it’s on a beach vacation and still runs faster than my motivation on a Monday.
The thing doesn’t even have a fan… because it doesn’t need one. It stays cool, silent, and unbothered while I’m out here throwing 50 tabs, Zoom calls, photo editing, and Spotify at it like a mad person. Meanwhile, my old laptop used to sound like a jet engine just trying to open a PDF.
The screen is crisp enough to make me question my entire Netflix watching history. Keyboard? Smooth. Trackpad? Basically magic. And the battery life? I charge it like once every blue moon and it still keeps going — I’ve started trusting it more than I trust myself.
If laptops were people, this one would be that chill friend who always shows up on time, looks good doing it, and somehow still has energy left to help you move a couch.

The MacBook Air 13.3" with the Apple M1 chip is an impressive laptop that offers a seamless and powerful user experience. The M1 chip delivers exceptional performance, allowing for smooth multitasking and fast processing speeds. With 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD, it strikes a good balance between storage capacity and speed.
The laptop's sleek design and space gray color give it a modern and elegant look. The 13.3" Retina display offers vibrant colors and sharp details, making it enjoyable for multimedia consumption and creative work. The battery life is also remarkable, providing long hours of usage on a single charge.
The M1 chip's integration with macOS delivers a smooth and efficient workflow. Apps and software run smoothly, and the laptop wakes up instantly from sleep mode. The MacBook Air's keyboard and trackpad are comfortable and responsive, ensuring a pleasant typing and navigation experience.
One drawback to consider is the limited number of ports, as the MacBook Air only offers two USB-C ports. This might require the use of dongles or adapters for connecting external devices.
Overall, the MacBook Air 13.3" with the Apple M1 chip is a fantastic choice for users seeking a powerful, portable, and stylish laptop. Its combination of performance, battery life, and sleek design make it a top contender in the market.

4 weeks after buying the computer would not turn on. Took it to Apple Store and the tec was unsuccessful in turn on so I had to leave it for a week for further evaluation. Still waiting. Best Buy will no take it back after only 2 weeks which I find ridiculous when you spend so much money on a product

Screen malfunctioned within 7 months. I will go to Apple to see if they will cover the limited 1 year warranty or not. My son is disappointed. So am I. He did take good care of it. Since I am an engineer, I can see it is a manufacturing defect near the lower left corner of the display. The outer glass of the display itself is not cracked.

The MacBook Air is a slim, lightweight laptop that offers excellent portability and a sleek design. It has a high-quality Retina display that delivers crisp, clear visuals, making it ideal for tasks such as photo and video editing. Additionally, the keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the trackpad is smooth and responsive.
One of the standout features of the MacBook Air is its battery life, which can last up to 12 hours on a single charge, depending on usage. This makes it an excellent choice for people who need to work on the go and don't want to be tethered to a power outlet.
The MacBook Air also boasts a powerful M1 chip, which provides fast performance and seamless multitasking. It runs macOS, which is known for its user-friendly interface and reliability.
However, there are a few downsides to consider. The MacBook Air only has two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, which may be limiting for some users who need to connect multiple peripherals simultaneously. Additionally, while the M1 chip provides excellent performance, it may not be compatible with certain older software programs.
Overall, the MacBook Air is an excellent choice for people who value portability, sleek design, and reliable performance. Its long battery life and powerful M1 chip make it a standout option in the laptop market.

Coming from the 18' MB Pro, I was somewhat hesitate of "downgrading" to the MB Air; however, I realized I didn't really use the features the Pro was made for (ex: video editing, Touch Bar, etc). I did my research, and really wanted to see what this new M1 chip was all about. I'm glad I did! I traded in my Pro for this beast, and I haven't regretted it one bit. This Air is fast, and loads faster than my Pro did! The only thing I've noticed is the Air's speakers are not as loud as the Pro's but I'm already use to it. All in all, I'm happy I traded it in. The Air is lightweight so easy to carry to class, is not big so easily fits on tables, and the new battery life is amazing. I've had it unplugged and used it at my internship and all evening at home, and I'm still at 80%! All in all, Apple once again did amazing. Just a head's up: I did store pickup, and the M1 chip feature / any M1 wording is not on the box at all. I was worried I didn't get the M1 edition until I got home and powered it on.

Before the M1 MacBook Air, I never before considered getting a Mac, because much better values were always available on the Windows side. That is no longer the case. In terms of speed, portability, build quality, and battery life, this is as good as or better a value than comparable higher tier Windows ultrabooks.
Since you cannot expand DRAM or SSD, you need to make sure to get enough of both when you buy it. Compared to some other manufacturers, Apple makes you pay through the nose for every step up in memory or storage, so the favorable value proposition can disappear once you leave the base configuration of 8GB/256GB that I went with. Unless you are a power user and/or work with lots of big media files (audio, video, photos), this should be enough for most people. My impression after using my Mac for several weeks is that it seems to do better on 8GB of memory than my Windows laptop does.
Thoughts regarding MacOS vs Windows: It doesn't matter much to me, and switching between them is not a big deal after a small learning curve. I don't consider myself having permanently switched to MacOS. I still use Windows and my next laptop might be Windows, Mac, Linux, or ChromeOS depending on what looks best at the time.
Positives:
* Great value
* Excellent screen
* Attractive device overall
* Insane battery life
* Powerful processor
* No fan
Neutral:
* OK keyboard
* Mediocre camera
Negatives:
* Cannot expand memory or storage
* Only one free USB port when plugged into power
* No SD card slot
* I miss having a touchscreen

This product is horrible! I have an iMac, iPad and iPhone which are all great, but this….this is the worst apple product I’ve owned. I had the laptop next to me on the bed and my 2-year old was climbing up in the bed, so I went to shut my laptop to prevent her from breaking it, instead I broke it! I had my thumb on the front of the screen when I was closing it and I heard or felt (don’t recall) it break under the screen, I didn’t hardly apply any pressure to the screen! It blows my mind that the inside of my computer broke from a light touch! The outside of the screen looks fine, it’s the inside that is ruined. I had it for 11 days and they wouldn’t let me return it. What a joke of quality for $860!
