I returned this subwoofer and exchanged it for the Klipsch R-100SW, which is a much better value!

If I could give no stars I would. Total misrepresentation of this open box item. Supposed to be excellent, it was crap. Scratched, dented, totally abused. Shame on Best Buy. I returned it within 24 hours. What a pity.

Got the Sub and quckly replaced my existing 12" sub. Hook up was really simple(power cord and subwoofer RCA connection). I was immediately up and running. Crossover knob is available on the back as well.
Out of the Box, the sub worked well and had good performance. But what really makes this sub shine is the APP from Martin Logan. So upon download to my phone, the app searches and finds the sub via bluetooth. Connection was quick and seamless. Then just flip the switch on the back of the sub and you are ready to use the app. Upon connection, you have a ton of options available for configuration and performance. The most obvious of these are 3 modes: Movie, Music, Night. Each emphasizing different frequency response levels.
I initially tested with Movie mode: this mode "maximizes device for an especially explosive experience". This mode output performed well. I started at -10bB whcih is also where I ended up after tweeking!
Once of the best features that is built in the app is the "Sweep" mode. Ever had an object that would rattle but you never can reproduce the bass rumble to find it. NOW YOU CAN. The sweep mode takes you through the entire frequency band!! This will let you find those items or help with sound isolation.
Finally once you find the setting you want with the app. you can set a password so it can't accidentally be changed.
The sub also has the option for ARC tuning and wireless connection. Both of these are addon options should you need them. ARC is a audio tuning software application that can be connected via USB and the wireless option is if you can't run the RCA cable to your sub location.
Over all, this 10" sub packs a punch, looks great and has a ton of features. The manual is well documented and easy to understand. It explains every option you can configure.
I did reduce the star rating to 4 because the manual shows that the sub can be changed from bottom firing to front firing but I was not able to do that with the 600X. Also while the sub performed well at low and especially moderate levels. I did get some distortion at reference levels. To be fair, I do run a higher end system utilizing separate PRE/PRO so my expectations are beyond what most consumers would ever consider. As such, I would probably need the larger models offered to meet my needs.
Highly recommended sub with lots of performance and features for the money!

This review is gonna be from a "regular" person's perspective and won't include all that technical stuff since 1) I don't have a mic or feel like downloading the software to test it 2) If it sounds good who cares what a benchmark might say.
So it sounds good!
I used a little HTIB for a few weeks and was OK with it, but decided I need my full size system back running so I hooked it up. The bass output is decent with the floor speakers I have, but they just couldn't hit that deep, feel in your chest bass. Luckily this popped up on TIN so I decided to go for it.
My receiver doesn't have LFE out so I have to use the standard sub out. You can control the sub manually (which only has volume control) or using the App (this is where you get to the good stuff!). The sub has built in bluetooth that allows you to connect the app. First thing was to grab a firmware update that took about 5 minutes. After that came all the normal set up to get the sub going.
I don't have very many optimal spaces open in my man cave so I just put it under the TV which really is the worst spot acoustically for the shape of the room. This is where the app came in and took the set up to a new level. The app allows you to control volume, crossover, and phase (this was the sweet one for me). There are also presets for Movie, Music, and Night. Each seems to cut off the lower frequencies as you move up. Movies has the most range and hits those deep thunderous lows that you love when watching action movies, Music doesn't go as low and sounds "tighter". Night cuts out pretty much all the low range so you don't disturb anyone (as much) when you wanna keep it quiet.
You can set up the low pass filter in the app too, but I have it set to bypass and control it with the receiver. I did test Third order and it worked well, I just don't have much input on it though.
Next was the setting that made it go from "it's OK" to "Holy Smokes" - Phase/Polarity. Like I mentioned I couldn't put the sub in the real sweet spot because it's occupied so the sound was OK, not really mind blowing. Then I tapped the inverted phase button and it improved a good bit. I could feel it and get the low hums now. Next I adjusted the phase - I got sweet spot sound from a spot that couldn't do it before! Lows were deep and punches slapped! This app made it so I could put the sub almost anywhere. The other sub is 20yrs old and still sounds good but it was limited to phase, crossover, and volume. Without the polarity it just couldn't do what this sub could in the spot it was in.
There are two other settings 20-30hz level and the room correction (requires ARC app) that I didn't use either. All my tweaking I've done last night (thanks for not cussing me out sweetie!) got me where I wanted to be. I'm 100% satisfied with everything this sub brings - though I'm sure my wife won't be!
Hoping that in 20yrs I'll still be running this like my old sub that's being used on my gaming PC.

As a disclaimer, I received this MartinLogan 600 x sub as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network. My home setup is a Yamaha Aventage 2020 receiver with Infinity mains and center and Definitive Technology surrounds. I guess I'm a little old school with the infinity setup but I have alway been a fan of their products. My current sub was the JBL sw250 which peaks at 700 watts. So on to my thoughts about the Dynamo 600x. This sub is rated at a maximum output of 240 watts with a frequency response of 27 to 200 hz. The room I have set up for gaming and movie watching is 22 feet by 11 feet. In a room this size, this amp has more than enough power, this was a concern of mine going from a 700 watt peak output sub to this one. The bass is tight and strong and makes movie watching an enjoyable experience. (I like strong bass). I am still toying with the free app that MartinLogan has introduced. The app connects to the speaker via bluetooth and allows instant setting changes such as movie, music and night mode, volume adjustment and ARC room correction to get the very best sound possible from this subwoofer. The 600x is impressive in many ways and actually blends well with my current Infinity setup. I have to say that I really like this sub. If I had a larger space, I would definitely want to go bigger, maybe the 1100X for large rooms, but so far I am very pleased. There is also an optional wireless connection that can be added to the sub for rooms where running a cable would be difficult. MartinLogan makes great products and you can add the Dynamo 600X to that ever-growing list.

Let first say this sub is a beast. It weighs around 40 lbs Out of the box setup was very easy, Download ARC app to have better control of frequencies. I did enjoy the different listening modes in the app. I love the downward firing design. It has very solid low bass. It also has connections for RCA as well as speaker inputs. As well as ARC input. It can be controlled by app or by controls on the sub. The app setting is very useful when you have placed the sub in a hard to reach an area. You will be pleasantly surprised by the bass from Dynamo 600X

What an upgrade from my small, 10" Yamaha that I've had for 15 years. The Yamaha wasn't bad, but it lacked the deep, booming bass that I wanted and struggled greatly at higher volumes (over-extension, distortion, and popping). The Martin Logan Dynamo is only slightly larger than my previous sub, but the sound quality is amazingly better. My wife has complained that it's almost too much bass and now I have to go around and find all of the things in the room that are vibrating.

This subwoofer is excellent in every way. The unboxing was very easy and came out looking really good. The sub fits perfectly in the corner of the room and looks good by itself. Easy to hook up as well just unplugged my old one and plugged this one in. The app control makes it so much easier to control every aspect of the sub. You get a full sound and it can definitely shake the room if you wanted it too. I have 17' high ceilings and it fills the room great!
